This prequel is just the start of Matthew and Ninas story and one I absolutely and completely hooked on from the very first page. These two just had an instant connection the moment they met. I really can not wait for book one to see what’s going to happen with them and how it all goes. Just really enjoyed this so much.
This author just doesn’t play fair. We knew Zola had a past and a pretty intense one. Although he seems unlucky in love he does turn out to be a really good guy. This is the night when he meets his match. Tired of the same old thing, same old people, same old women he heads to the other side of town where he can just have some peace. The sought after peace ends up being Nina. All they can have is this one night. One night of friendship pretending the world doesn’t exist. One night of passion. One night that turns his life upside down and inside out. She was everything he ever dreamed of but was afraid to want. One night. It wasn’t enough. He wanted more. She couldn’t give it. But he wasn’t ready to accept that their one night is all there would ever be. This is their beginning. It could also be their end. But if Zola had anything to do with it it wouldn’t be their last.
This isn’t a standalone read, although it doesn’t have a cliff-hanger so to speak it is part of a new series. It’s a steamy read about a night that ends in passion neither have experienced and he doesn’t want to end.
Holy freaking hotness! I mean… I knew that Zola was going to be hot, but this little bit of him totally set me on fire! I can not wait to hear more about him and Nina! I love her so and I really want to see her happy….. but with Nicole’s history with her other books… I already know I am going to be gutted before I see that happiness! And I will love every gut wrenching minute of it!
Scarlet Night is the prequel to Nicole French’s The Rose Gold series. If this story is an indication of anything Matthew Zola and Nina Astor will possibly become one of my favorite couples.
Matthew Zola already has me charmed. A man who knows the importance of looking good is a win to me and let’s just say he’s easily swayed me to his side.
Nina is a hard nut for me to crack at first, she plays things close to her and tries not to let on to much. She likes the mysterious but some hints made me start gussing her past.
The chemistry between these two are hot! Like drop your kindle before it burns you kind of hot. This one night is one that they may not be able to get over when they return to their lives. This night may just change them, for the better or worse we’ll have to wait to find out.
Make sure you read this and TBR the rest of the series, you won’t want to miss this HOT new couple!
OMG was this a wonderful Prequel to the Rose Gold Trilogy! I can’t wait until the 1st book comes out – The Other Man! My only complaint was – I wanted more. – now!!!
We met Matthew Zola in the Quicksilver Trilogy as a prosecutor helping Eric and Jane de Vries find John Carson, Jane’s bio-father. Nina Astor is Eric’s cousin. Matthew and Nina meet one night and have “One Scarlet Night” together. Nina is lonely and unhappy and Matthew sees something in her that touches a cord in himself. These two have a connection and one steamy night that cannot be anything more. There are secrets but passion doesn’t care. I loved the dynamics and chemistry these two had going on!!
I am so excited to get the rest of their story! You will, too, after getting a taste of them in this novella! You will want to grab it and get started!!
If this prequel is anything to go by, The Rose Gold series is going to quickly become my favorite Nicole French series. Though this is just a small glimpse of the start of the series, I can already tell it is going to be exceptional.
Matthew Zola has a timeless, old-school charm that will suck you into his orbit, and a dirty, sexy mind that will make you want to stay there. He is confident, yet restless in his life, until the night he meets Nina Astor.
Nina is all softness and vulnerability on the outside, but deep below the surface she has a take-charge attitude and backbone of steel that helps her get through her days.
When the two meet, sparks fly and chemistry abounds between them. One night is all they can have, but that night will mark them forever. Will they be able to return to their normal lives after what they shared, or will the specter of that night haunt them? We’ll have to wait to find out with the release of the next book in the series.
This prequel novella to Zola and Nina’s story has left me drooling for more. I’ll be waiting on the edge of my seat for their full story. Another one knocked out of the park by Nicole French!

“Did you feel it? When you saw me , Nina, did you feel it too?”, well Nicole French I definitely felt the explosion of emotions that I have come to expected out of your books. I can not understand how much passion and intrigue Ms French can create in just a short novella. I am going to be in a book hangover until the first book is released. Zola and Nina gave me all the feels and the expectation of discovering the secrets that are being hidden and in true Nicole French style the adventure that will ensue leaves me breathless with anticipation. This book is definitely one of my favorites for 2019 and I am dying to know how this is going to turn out. I am going to stop with #whoisNinaAston?
A very impactful prequel! If you’re familiar with this author’s work then you’ll remember Zola and Nina from her last series, but its not required to read this book (don’t be surprised though if after you read this one you want to go out and download all her other works!). This book takes us to the very start of the romance between Matthew Zola and his ‘doll’. As its only the prequel we don’t get too many pages but the tapestry she weaves with her words is more than enough to have you ready to dive in to the next book ASAP and stalk her author page until she gives us the next fix!
This is a book spin off for Nicole French’s previous series. The characters, Matthew Zola and Nina Astor met each other. Their life is about to be complicated with each other passion. If you read the other series you would know about Nina and her issue. You don’t have to read the other ones in order to read this one. But go read them anyway because they are great. I would love to see how Matthew will open her up and persuade this romance!
There’s only one problem with this book: too short!!!
The Scarlet Night is a prequel for Nina and Matthew story. We meet Zola as a friend of Skylar in the Spitfire series, then we see him again in Quicksilver, Eric and Jane’s story.
He was always a character who left you wanting more, he’s a hot, sexy District Attorney.
Nina is Eric’s cousin. She’s a socialite, beautiful and very rich but at the same time very unhappy.
In this short story we get their first meeting and damn it is something really worth reading. They are a sexy and amazing couple. I can not wait to read their series and find out more.
OMG!! Matthew Zolla and Nina Astor are fire and ice in this prequel, all the feels, man they where hot!!
