NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLERNicolas Fox is a charming con man and master thief on the run. Kate O’Hare is the FBI agent who is hot on his trail. At least that’s what everyone thinks. In reality, Fox and O’Hare are secretly working together to bring down super-criminals the law can’t touch. Criminals like brutal casino magnate Evan Trace. Evan Trace is running a money-laundering operation through … running a money-laundering operation through his casino in Macau. Some of his best customers are mobsters, dictators, and global terrorists. Nick and Kate will have to go deep undercover as high-stakes gamblers, wagering millions of dollars—and their lives—in an attempt to topple Trace’s empire.
It’s a scam that will take Fox and O’Hare from the Las Vegas strip, to the sun-soaked beaches of Oahu’s North Shore, and into the dark back alleys of Macau. Their only backup—a self-absorbed actor, a Somali pirate, and Kate’s father, an ex-soldier who believes a rocket launcher is the best way to solve every problem. What could possibly go wrong?

While the situations in the book aren’t plausible, they are fun. It’s entertaining to imagine these witty and super talented characters doing their incredible feats.
I read all of the Janet Evanovich books because they are funny and allow us to escape for a while to a world where the good guys are good and the bad guys are bad—with a few cooky ones in between.
As much fun as you can have reading! Great characters, humor, plot, twists, and a true depiction of gamblers without Kenny Rogers having to sing it.
These may be my favorite Janet Evanovich characters. The heists are just far fetched enough to entice and the characters are real. Jake is a relatable character to anyone who has retired from public safety careers or special ops.
This whole series has been fun to read!
I really like this author
These Fox and O’Hare stories are absolutely wonderful. I’ll be sorry when they are over. I have one left that is available to date.
I’m entertained from beginning to end with these novels. I couldn’t be more in love with the characters, quirky and all. And the way I feel about a thief and con-man in these books is shameful. I’m head over heels in love.
Personally, I can’t recommend this series highly enough. What a ride!
I really love Janet Evanovich,s Stephanie Plum series, but couldn’t handle the evil characters in this one. Too much violence. Won’t read another in this series
Great book in the series. Both action packed and humorous as well.
Love the interaction & relationship between the two main characters.
I didn’t finish the book which is unusual for me. Gambling and cheating or scamming people is not entertaining to me. I have enjoyed Janet Evanovich’s books in the past. This books a disappointment to me.
Too predictable and way too ‘cute.’
Nothing was even close to being realistic. I like the Stephanie Plum series due to the humour. But this book had none of that. I finished hoping it would get better, but it never did.
This is the first book I attempted to read where Janet Evanovich collaborated with another writer and I was not impressed. I didn’t finish it. I really like her Stephanie Plum series though.
Did not like it.
always fun

Part of the reason I did not rate this book higher is because where the primary author has farmed out a portion of the book to another author the reader does not know who wrote what. I am displeased when this occurs. I believe that the reader is short changed.
Due to this I am going to treat these books as they are from now on, as disingenuous books written in part by the original author in this case by Janet Evanovic and by by a talented professional author, Lee Goldberg. The very best don’t participate in this practice. I am an aficionado of thrillers/suspense/ mysteries. Can anyone out there imagine John D MacDonald, James Lee Burke, or VK Rowling doing this?
My first Janet Evanovich and I was disappointed. The lead character is a joke, a supposed tough FBI agent who turns into a blathering idiot when interviewing the suspect. It’s nothing more than a cheap romance disguised as a mystery. I won’t read the second in the set even though I bought it.
The unlikely duo of criminal Nick Fox and FBI Agent Kate O’Hare are after a casino owner who is knowingly helping launder money that goes to terrorists. But as their con is set in motion, things quickly spiral out of control. Will they be able to turn their target into an FBI asset?
These books are always light, fun reads and this book is no exception. The characters could have more depth, but they are developed enough to keep my interest, and the crew that Nick and Kate always pull together is half the fun. The twists and plentiful and the ride is fun. I’m very anxious to get my hands on the next in the series.
Love this series
