Sexy and packed with action! A perfect balance of emotion and suspense, The Savior is a true page-turner. Be prepared to stay up past bedtime!
My go-to author for page-turning romantic military novels!
Holy @*$&$#! I loved every minute of this book. I felt the heartache from the beginning all the way to the hope and joy at the end. This is a great start to the new series based in the Titan world. There was suspense throughout the book, and there was some mystery as to what would happen next. I loved the twists and turns, and I was in shock at a couple of factors that I should have seen coming. There were some things that I did see coming, but it was great to see how it played out. It’s great story telling when you get as emotionally involved in such a story like I was, and when you love the characters and their quirks. And for those that love the sexy bits of a romance, those are in there too.
Liam and Chelsea have a rocky start to their relationship. He was the almost fiance of Chelsea’s best friend who died in a bombing. But they have now been brought together on an investigation into that same bomber.
Chelsea and Liam are both enduring survivors guilt and the fledgling spark of attraction between them leaves them both feel guilty. All that sexual tension has to be alleviated somehow and when they finally get over their emotional obstacles, the touchpaper is lit on intense passion. The action/adventure isn’t exactly lacking either!
Looking forward to our next ace-in-the-hole.
Wow, I just loved this audiobook. The story of retired Army Capt. Liam Brosnan and US Marshal Chelsea Kilpatrick is one that will blow your away.
It’s a story about two individuals united by a loss that changed their lives. After a year of mourning one his fiancee and the other one her best friend, life get complicated. While a relationship blossoms, new evidence of the death of his former girlfriend, puts others in danger. In the meantime, the woman that Chelsea has been hunting for years, throws a curveball.
The plot at times heartbreaking, is filled with non-stop action, suspense, whodunit, and a romance that might not survive. The characters are complex , with a strong woman perfect for an imperfect man.
Can’t wait to see what else is in store in the next story.
The book tarted a little slow, but ended with a bang. We’ll see how the rest of the series reads.
Liam and Chelsa’s story is book one of a new series by this author and I loved it! It started with a nail-biting, edge of your seat opening and was a pager turner, could not wait until the end story. I’ve read many of Ms. Harbin’s books and this one is a lot like the earlier books of hers that I thoroughly love. The plot is strong, easy to read, and there is hot, sexy romance, tears, bad guys and good guys. I look forward to the next one in this series.
The Savior by Cristin Harber is the first book in her new Aces series so obviously it’s a standalone book. Full disclosure: I LOVE Cristin’s Titan series. And the spin-off Redemption series was pretty good, too. Until Retribution. But I think there was a mix-up in the version that was sent to bloggers, so I really do need to do a reread of that book because it was the one book in that series I could NOT wait to read. Cristin, if you ever read this, I swear it’s back on my TBR pile! OK. Back to The Savior.
Liam has just lost his fiance, Julia, and Chelsea has lost her best friend. When they finally are in the same place for the one year anniversary of Julia’s death, life takes some very interesting turns both professionally and personally. Can these two very stubborn people with very dangerous careers overcome it all and be together? Or will circumstances and their skewed views of their relationship keep them from their happily ever after?
Cristin has always been a great romantic suspense writer. I love that she always does her research and keeps the details realistic. That’s a big soapbox thing for me (like really…there’s an entire audio file on Wickedcoolflight about doing your research that the Crew did if you want to check it out). And I’ve had the pleasure of meeting her in person a couple of times. She’s pretty soft-spoken in person, but I get the feeling that she’d totally obliterate me and my skill level at the gun range! It’s always the quiet ones you have to look out for! 😉 Oh…and a couple of Titan men make an appearance in this book, so that was a bonus! The writing was definitely more of what we’ve come to expect from her. And there was just enough left unexplained to keep you on the edge of your seat for the next Aces book. What I loved most about Liam & Chelsea, that also made me frustrated at times, was their unwavering devotion to Julia’s memory and their sense of right & wrong when it comes to their budding relationship.
NICUnurse’s Rating: I give The Savior by Cristin Harber a solid 4.5 stars. It’s great to have more to read from her again!
A great start to another interesting series. YEA!
In my opinion The Savior was very slow moving. The story just never flowed for me. I just never connected to Liam and Chelsea. I liked both characters just not together. In my opinion the suspense that I come to expect from Cristin Harber was not there. The timeline line was a little confusing but figured it out at the end. I’m hoping the next book will be better. For me both stories going on in The Savior came to an anticlimactic end. I justify my rating because I really like the Cristin Harber and I have faith on the next book. I read this on Kindle Unlimited.
Cristin Harber is back with a new prequel series that starts off with a bang! Entertaining and action-packed, I physically gasped at a few points in the book and absolutely could not put it down. Both the hero and heroine are very likeable and have chemistry in spades. As a bonus, I’m excited to see who pops into the series. I can’t wait for the next installment
There was a connection between Chelsey and Liam, but it was never really explored until tragedy happened, even after that tragedy, they were still very far apart. This story brings them together more than they can imagine. They discover they have feelings for each other, but that can’t happen as Chelsey is Liam’s dead fiances best friend! It can’t go further. It was an emotional read as there were all kinds of signs for grieving for different folks. The suspense was there just like in any other of Ms. Harber’s Titan series. It was an awesome read with page turning tendencies on my behalf. Couldn’t wait to turn each page.
Looking for a great romance with a heart stopping sexy military man who has a heart of gold and a feisty beautiful Marshall then look no further. Cristin Harber delivers another delightful, full of heat romance with the perfect amount of action. Loving this new series!!
There are books that grab you by the throat on the first page and do not let you breathe until you have read the last word of the last page and are hyperventilating and oxygen starved wanting more… This is one of those books.
A new set of characters with cameos from a couple of old favorites this book did not disapoint. I loved every word, every nuance of attitude, but most of all the feelings evoked with a new love that should feel wrong but shines through and brings life back into the light.
I say it is unputdownable. I can’t wait to read whatever comes next in the Aces series.
This book is ACES!
Phew, this book is an amazing story with heaps of cloak and dagger scenarios that will keep you guessing! Liam loses the woman he loves and now a year later, he still feels as though he has a big black whole in his chest. That is until an envelope gets delivered and Liam pulls Chelsea in by asking for her help. Too bad they couldn’t predict the future but who knew they could potentially fall for each other after all this time? Also it was nice to catch up with some old Titan favourites!
A fantastic read and I’d definitely recommend it and the Titan series, if you haven’t read it already
OMG!! This had all the elements that I look for in a book; Action, alpha men, suspense, chemistry, emotion and a kick ass female. You can’t help but hurt for Liam, however to watch him come out the other side a stronger person was so inspiring. He is a protector and he was t letting anything happen to Chelsea. Great start to a new series!
WOW!!!!! I wasn’t sure how this book would play out. I was so ingrained in the author’s other series (Titan and Delta) that I just couldn’t imagine a new series. But man did she deliver. And boss man and nerd boy are supporting characters in this book.
There is action, emotion, secrets and love. Cristin Harber is a must buy for me. No questions asked, I always one-click. And she never disappoints. Lots of surprises and twists and turns, but never a disappointment.
This book left open some questions in my mind and I’m hoping that future books will answer some of these questions.
The Savior is a romantic suspense novel by Cristin Harber. Romantic suspense in general is one of my favorite type of book to read; as one written by Cristin Harber is always a must read for me as I am never disappointed by any book written by her. The Savior did not disappoint! I was hooked from page one to the very last page. My emotions were on a roller coaster ride, and what a great ride it was! I am thrilled to know that The Savior is the first book in a new series by Cristin, and so the ride will continue.
Omgoodness y’all. Be prepared. The Savior will capture your heart, wring it empty of every little drop of emotion, then fill it to overflowing with breath-stealing goodness!
Liam and Chelsea’s story start out with their world being shattered and learning how to keep living through intense grief. Their intense pain and struggle with healing from that loss mixed with conflict from work related situations that have some scary real-life-threatening consequences just seem like it’s too much to deal with, and you find yourself holding your breath waiting for the next shoe to drop.
Liam rocked my world with how much he felt, how deeply he loved, how intensely and deliberately he lived life. Chelsea won me over with her compassion, realness, devotion, and her spirit. Together they find healing, trust, and a crazy fun and treasured love.
Throw in some spec ops missions, shocking revelations, frustrating word games, and a quirky cute lesson in romance and you have a high-charged action adventure along with a captivating love story. Oh, and you can’t forget the Titan-esque moments that make you secretly giddy.
Hidden within the pages of this story are several nuggets of truth and tough love and grace. They translate perfectly from the story into the reader’s head, settling there and showing the beauty behind the life lessons, and hopefully sinking deep to acceptance.
I was shaken by how viscerally I reacted to this story, soaking up all the emotions and feeling like I was living their journey with them. Words have a power to them, and if allowed, can embed and overflow — which The Savior did for me.
So, basically — get this book, buckle in, remember to breathe, turn the page and hang on for an intense ride. You won’t regret it.
This is a new series by Cristin Harber. It’s a little different from her other books, but just as good.
The writing is masterful. Starting in the first chapter we are hit with danger and heartbreaking loss. It is a roller coaster of feelings I experienced while reading The Savior. The character development is wonderful. I really loved this book and look forward to the next book.
