After the death of her mother, New York surgeon Alexandra travels to New Orleans to face the secrets and tragedies of her youth. A mystery is solved leading to a journey to madness.
Unusual story line and interesting main character. At first I thought this story was so so but pretty soon I was reading it non stop and got up at 3:00 am to download the 2nd book in this series. Can’t wait to see where the author takes this in the 3rd book. If you like unusual and different characters, this book is great.
How can someone be an acclaimed surgeon and yet, not be able to relate to your patients and coworkers? Better question how does one become so disassociated from life. The Savant of Chelsea is thought provoking, heart rendering and an all around good read. Suzanne Jenkins always creates unusual and memorable characters. Highly recommend this …
The story describes the uniqueness of people’s personalities. The Savant of Chelsa describes how hard it is to fit into society when you have unique gifts. It was an excellent book.
This is the first book I’ve read by this author. It was the best writing, kept me interested and no one would even think what would happen at the end which was very surprising. I had to buy the sequel. Which I’m reading now and it’s just as good as this one.
I haven’t even finished the book but love it so much I had to share. I had a hard time putting it down to go to work today. Kudos to the author. It is heart wrenching, captivating and well written.
OMG Just finished it. Did NOT see that coming. Stunned. Shocked. And wanting more
Alexandra is an incredibly strong woman. She is a survivor who rises above her horrific past and mental health issues to give back to others. Truly inspirational.
Great book. I liked the authors use of mental illness as the main topic in this book. It explains the main characters erratic behavior. Once she is able to find answers about her stolen child her whole personality changes. The woman she has always wanted to be is able to break through and show love to everyone around her. The act of forgiveness of …
Well written, but emotionally difficult to read (don’t let that deter you from reading it – child abuse is a tough subject to explore, especially from the angle of the trauma caused to the victim). I felt there was so much detail on the main character’s thoughts throughout the book and then the ending was so sudden and abrupt that it felt odd. I …
Bravo! I can’t stop thinking about this book! What a creative way to weave reality into fiction – or fiction into reality. This was the extraordinary story of a traumatic childhood that transpires into a barely functioning adulthood. And what a concept! An autistic savant as a brilliant brain surgeon, with meltdowns and obsessions one moment; and …
Very multi-layered characters, who seem very real.Love, trust, fear, heartbreak, broken spirits, building tension, hope, are some of the descriptive words I use to describe this book. I highly recommend!
OMG…Talk about a book surprise…BLEW…MY…MIND…and I love it!!!!!!
There are a lot of triggers, so read with care.
Alexandra…an amazing character. The writing is off the charts, pulling out all the feels and smacking me in the face. With the excellent writing and the surprisingly creative storyline and characters, I challenge you to tell me you …

Loved this book, got my attention very early and was hooked !

This book was told from the viewpoint of a seriously disturbed individual. I found it difficult to identify with the character.
Ending makes you wake up and realize you have been lulled by too many other novels. Awesome

Great book by a great author. I’ve read every single one of her books and they’re all great.
Good read, interesting characters. You never knew how the story was going to end. Surprise ending!

I really loved it….hated to have it end. So different from anything I’ve read before. Definitely recommend this book.

I enjoyed reading this book because it was very different. Be sure to read the sequel.
