This was a sweet, clean adorable romance. It is a quick read under 100 pages. It makes a nice bookcation get-away. The only down side for me was it wasn’t written in a dual POV format. I understand why it was written from Sadie’s POV but I enjoy getting to know and understand both characters if the book is written in a dual POV format.
Sadie runs a bakery and from a young age has raised her two younger sisters after their mother left them. She has struggled to pay the bills, keep food on the table while raising her sisters. It had been with help that she managed to succeed with her duties to her family. She has been seeing Ashton Dumont for four wonderful years. He has helped her in many way. They are engaged to be married. Unfortunately Ashton comes from money and his mother is a dragon who dislikes Sadie and her “hillbilly” ways. Mrs. Dumont tries several different ways to thwart the union between her beloved son and the baker.
This is a delightful tale that again is sweet and clean. Anyone of any age can read and enjoy this wonderful story love triumphs over all.
Sadie was abandoned to raise her 2 siblings. She has sacrificed her life for her sister . Sadie caught the attention of the oldest son of the town’s wealthy family and they are now engaged. Ashton’s family is not as accepting of Sadie. Ashton want to give Sadie the world but will the differences in their background lead to a HEA or will it break them apart. This is a well written story, the first in this series.

A very swèet romance that is a quick read. Just a lovely romantic read that left a warm and fuzzy feeling inside. Familial expectations on one side arose that caused this couple a lot of angst and headaches. On the other side, the family members were very supportive; one might say, some were a wee bit extra-supportive. A happy-ever-after was achieved after getting through an assortment of speed bumps were overcome. Vroom. Vroom.

This was a great book had great characters and a well developed storyline. Sadie and Ashton come from two different backgrounds but still manage to fall in love. You think that would be the end of the story with a HEA not in this one due to some stuffy interfering parents who don’t like the girl. Sadie had to grow up fast to raise her two sisters that were abandoned by their parents. She manages to do that and finds the man of her dreams. Ashton adores Sadie and will protect her from anyone who tries to hurt her.

The first book in the Gone with the Brides series a well written story of a woman after her and her two sisters are abandoned by her parents and how Sadie Dixon makes keeps them all together. Sadie meets the eldest son of the rich Dumont family, Ashton and they fall in love but the road to their happy ending will not be smooth. A book that I enjoyed reading. Sadie and Ashton are from two different worlds. Sadie struggled to raise her sisters after her parents abandoned them when she was 17. Ashton comes from a wealthy family and has never known want. His parents don’t think she’s good enough for him and try to break them up. Sadie starts putting aside her own dreams of going to culinary school and owning a bakery to please Ashton’s judgmental parents. When her Aunt Cathy returns after she feels like she abandoned her in her time of need eight years ago and tries to force Sadie to stand up for herself, she blows up at her. Sadie never knew that it was her aunt who helped her out financially, while her deadbeat mother took credit. Although Ashton is a knight in shining armor, everything seems too rosy in the end. I am looking forward to reading her sisters’ stories.
A sweet, emotional, dramatic, enjoyable story. To be dumped by family and then having to raise 2 sisters and given up your dreams of a bakery is devastating. But to meet the man of you dreams who is your person to back you up and everything when it gets tough is amazing. Even if his background and money situation are the exact opposite of yours. This is a short and sweet story that was enjoyable to read. The characters were personable and you could believe in them as people and living in the real world. I would recommend that you read this book.

This is the first book I’ve read written by Ciara Knight and it is a sweet contemporary romance that keeps your interest from the first word to the last.
Sassy Southern Charm and amazing family values for three young women who had a dead-beat dad and their mom up and walked out of their live eight years ago when the oldest was only 17 going on 18. Sadie Dixon took care of her two younger sisters Avery and Zoey after their mom walked out on them eight years ago but Sadie would say they all took care of each other. This book has strong family ties and a down to earth approach that money does not buy you happiness, which I can appreciate and try to emulate in my own life. The love shown between Ashton and Sadie made my heart feel the love that the author was going for.
Excellent story, amazing characters that most of them were down to earth and lovable, and others I loved to hate Mrs. Dumont.
I would recommend this as a nice sweet romance that was a quick read and enjoyable.
This is a novella that has the main characters relationship already established (engaged and in the wedding planning stages) and of course future mother-in-law is throwing a wrench or two into the plans.
Ashton is such a sweetheart, but a little oblivious when it comes to his mother. Avery was left the responsibility of raising her two younger sisters on her own and has finally found happiness with Ashton. However she is conflicted. She feels she will have to give up a bit of herself to satisfy the evil mother-in-law. Can Ashton keep his promise to chose Avery over his family? You’ll have to read it to find out.
Since the characters relationship was already established, I wasn’t able to become emotionally attached to these characters, but I did still enjoy reading about them. There were a few “Aaawww” moments and an “Ah hell no” moment or two, but all in all, the reading was entertaining. Engaging, dialogue, good descriptions to detail, nice characters, and good story line.
Written as a first person, single pov with a HEA. I would have loved to have seen Ashton’s pov, but it wasn’t necessary.
Would I recommend this novella? Yes
Would I read more from this author? Yes – I love her Sweetwater County series.
