It’s been two months since Rune Leveau, aka Anna Masterson, survived the machinations of the Kodiak corporation and things have been relatively peaceful in the iconic bar, the Lucky Devil. The peace couldn’t last. The corporate entities that rule her Chicago are not through with the Finder yet and the other powers-that-be don’t intend to be left in the dust. The key is finding the Masterson … the Masterson Files, a computer program with the impossible ability to cast magic. Now the Magic Guild is wanting a word with her and as trouble in the form of the Faerie King converges at her bar, Rune finds herself in the center of warring factions battling it out with bullets and magic.
Which is exactly the right moment for the cybernetically augmented corporate spy, St. Benedict to come back into her life. But can these two survive the lies that lay between them? More importantly, can Rune get the Saint of Liars to help her answer the one question she’s burning to answer: where is Justin Masterson?

The Saint of Liars (The Lucky Devil series Book 2) by Megan Mackie. I loved this book. I don’t usually read this genre but I read the 1st book and I loved it. The 2nd installment did not disappoint. Its the story of Rune who in the 1st book was left The Lucky Devil Bar by her aunt who had recently passed. She also found out she has “powers”. After her ex husband leaves her hanging for crimes he committed and steals the files that have all her magic in them she is determined to find him and make him pay. The only problem is Rune isn’t the only one looking for this file and the people that are also looking for it will do anything to get it! Rune’s new love interest Saint Benedict is going to try to help her by telling his boss. He promises to help Rune but he wants her help in finding her ex. Can Rune trust anyone? Will she find the file before its too late! Read The Saint of Liars to find out!
The Saint of Liars is book two in the Lucky Devil series by Megan Mackie. If you haven’t already I would recommend starting with book one.
I really enjoyed this book, having already met some of the characters in book one I found it easier to follow and, as a result, more enjoyable.
This story is jam packed from the start, and the fast pace keeps your turning pages and wanting more. The story starts back with Rune, just a few months after where book one ended. She’s having problems both magical and financial. Rune is a character that you can’t help but like and, for me, she holds the book together. Rune’s past is not a happy story and unfortunately it’s starting to catch up with her. You meet some familiar faces again in book two. Saint Benedict is back and has his own troubles. I feel for this character, but sadly I didn’t quite like him as much in book two. You also get to meet some much-needed fresh faces who help to breathe life into this story.
If you like fast-paced action-packed stories then this one is for you.
THE SAINT OF LIARS is the sequel to the incredibly good THE FINDER AT THE LUCKY DEVIL. The Lucky Devil series is about a young woman named Rune who is a trophy wife named June Masterson who reinvented herself after her abusive husband threw her under the bus for his crimes. Except, she has supernatural abilities like the power to find any object she wants and her adventures take place in a cyberpunk dystopia with fairies as well as wizardesses. Rune just wants to escape her past but can’t as long as her ex-husband’s files, which contained the secret of combining computers with magic, remain around.
The sequel reveals that Rune’s ability to hide her past has been thoroughly compromised. Cyborg secret agent and occasional love interest, Saint Benedict, has informed his boss of her existence. His boss offers the protection of the Kodiak megacorporation in exchange for helping hunt down the Masterson Files. Rune doesn’t trust the megacorporation as far as she can throw it, so things go poorly until she decides she wants to find out her ex-husband’s secrets.
I am continually amazed at Megan Mackie’s ability to weave fascinating stories that combine disparate genres like cyberpunk, urban fantasy, romance, and thrillers. Rune is a great protagonist and Saint Benedict is just the perfect love interest for her despite (or because) both of them carrying serious emotional baggage. I was a bit annoyed to find Kodiak wasn’t just another megacorporation since I didn’t think it needed to be a “good guy” group in order to be interesting. Despite this, I enjoyed meeting all of its crazy staff and characters.
The Lucky Devil series is a real find for fans of urban fantasy and I think it’s probably my pick for self-published fantasy of 2018. I hope Megan Mackie continues to write this series for a good long time and it’s amazing this isn’t a “big five” creation.

(Lucky Devil #2)
By Megan Mackie
4 Stars
The Saint of Liars is book number 2 in the Lucky Devil Series and i encourage everyone that wants to read this series to read them in order. I enjoyed this book just as much as the first and just like the last one i was eager to turn each page. The secrets that are within these pages are numerous and it was interesting to see how the characters held their own. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and i look forward to reading more by this author.
I would recommend this book to a friend.

The Saint of Liars (Lucky Devil #2) by Megan Mackie was just as fast pace, fun, wicked, epic and just plain amazing as the first book.
God I love this series! Taking place almost right after the first books ends, about two months to be precise, it isn’t long before we are tossed back into the thick of things, and of course Run’s ex-jerkface a-hole hubby is at the centre of it.
I’m going to keep this short, because my god there is a lot going on in this second instalment. But you need to know that this book is freaking epically good. I mean the first book knocked me off me feet, but this one, I don’t know if it was was better, on par, or blew it out of the ball park. The only thing that I would say, wasn’t a good and as first, was how unclean some of the transitions were. They blended together at times. So I think another edit will help smooth that out.
Man, oh man, my brain is in a jumble, I just want to shake people are scream that they need to get their hands on this series!
With that said, please take my super, super high recommendation that this book is setting new standers, braking bars and causing my heart to stop. I need the next book.. tomorrow.
Happy Reading

THE SAINT OF LIARS is the sequel to the incredibly good THE FINDER AT THE LUCKY DEVIL. The Lucky Devil series is about Rune who is technically someone’s wife named June Masterson who changed herself after her abusive husband blamed rune for his crimes. Rune has supernatural abilities like the power to find any object she wants and her adventures take place in a cyber dystopia that has with fairies as well as wizardesses. Rune wants to be over her past but her ex husband has information about her and proof so this story follows that.
The Saint of Liars, by Megan Mackie, is the second story within the Lucky Devil series. Upon reading The Finder of the Lucky Devil, I couldn’t wait to read this next story within the series. It is highly recommended to read these books in order within the series so you don’t miss anything – it’s that good, you won’t want to risk it. As for The Saint of Liars, this was an immediate read, I had to know what was next for Rune and where her story was taking her, along with other characters we’ve met in the story. I found this second installment, just as addictive as the first. The creativity is outstanding. This is a story I can truly picture watching on TV, the descriptions were well thought and laid out, the action unbelievable. It had it all. Coming to the end of this book, I absolutely need more! What is next for this amazing cast of characters?!
I give The Saint of Liars (Lucky Devil Series Book 2) by Megan Mackie, 5 stars.
*This review may contain spoilers from book one.*
Rune thought everything was over. She officially claimed the Lucky Devil and is trying to get her life back to normal. Well, as normal as it can be now. Of course it was too good to be true. Now it all comes back to her ex husband and the files he created. There are many entities that want it, and many will do anything to get the files. One of them after the files is Saint Benedict. Can she trust him? Why should she? Or should she just run away from everything to save herself?
The first book took me by surprise at just how amazing it was. So I knew this book would be interesting, but it was so much better. Rune continues to grow into who she was meant to be, and the there is so much going on in this book. Yes, it is definitely connected to the first book, but it is its own story, not a rehash of the first. I stayed up way past my bedtime because I could not put it down. I cannot wait to see where the next book takes us and I hope the series last a long, long time.
The Saint of Liars is the second installment of the Lucky Devil Series from Megan Mackie. She was completely new to me when I picked up the first book in the series, The Finder of the Lucky Devil. I was hooked by the end of that book on the concept of this series as a whole and especially on the character of Rune. In The Saint of Liars we get a continuation of the story we read in book one. And… we get a five star read with this one! I loved this. It seemed like whatever was lacking for me to want to go with a four star in the first review, this one makes up for it. If I could rate it more I honestly would. I am not sure why but when I read the titles of these books, I think of the devil rubber duckie. SO, I would give it a solid 6 or more red devil duckies!
We still get the dystopian and magical world elements that shone in the first novel. Our favorite magical creatures make a few appearances as well and that made for some awesome imagery once again.
Rune and Saint Benedict,( holy hotness stranger!) find themselves wrapped up in a new journey together. Can they emerge from this journey unscathed? Will they find their romantic connection helpful or hindering? I loved reading about these two more so in this book. They have a great chemistry that really works well together throughout the book. Watch out for those twists and turns, I promise you won’t see them coming, but they will so be worth the surprise! Now I wait with the anticipation building evermore, for book three to release! Happy reading! And thanks so much Megan Mackie for this new and wonderful series to enjoy!
The Saint of Liars by Megan Mackie is the second book in the Lucky Devil series. This is a continuation of the first book and picks up several months later. The story is set in a futuristic, cyberpunk with a bit of fantasy thrown in world. This allows for lots of different elements to be used that help drive the story and make it fun to read. I enjoyed seeing Rune grow and learn more about her abilities and grow in her confidence. She is thrown into some dicey situations but works her way through things despite the challenges. I found this to be a fairly quick read because I did not want to put it down. I hope to read more in the future from this author.

The Saint of Liars is the second book in the Lucky Devil series by Megan Mackie. This book picks up two months after the first book left off. I highly recommend you read this series in order to have all of the background from the first book. This book is as good if not better than the first book in the series. The action and suspense will have you on the edge of your seat wondering what is coming next. This paranormal thriller is full of magic and interesting mythical creatures. Rune is a wonderful main character that leads us on this adventure and Saint Benedict add another layer to this wonderful story. I highly recommend this book, series and author. This is highly entertaining and well worth your time to read.
The Saint of the Liars by Megan Mackie is the second in her Lucky Devils series. This book read as well as the first book and I would suggest you read them in order as they flow well together and aren’t meant as stand alone reads.
This is a genre new to me but the synopsis of book one was so intriguing I couldn’t pass it by, fast forward and I needed to pick up it’s continuation.
I love how strong the story starts even at just the prologue and the twists and turns filled with danger and action had my attention through out.
I enjoyed Rune as a character and her complexities. Megan Mackie has created a series with great imagery and characters without going over the top. 4 star read.
This is book 2 of a series and book 1 should absolutely be read first as this picks up where the other left off.
As with the first book in this series, there are lots of things going on all at the same time. The way the author writes the story it was easy to separate the thoughts and situations going on. Worlds continue to be developed and characters are plentiful.
This is one of those books that drew me in and I have no idea how to write the review because I don’t want to give anything away.
It’s something I definitely recommend. If you liked book 1, you will like “The Saint Of Liars” also.
The Saint of Liars, Book 2 in the Lucky Devil Series by Megan Mackie
4 out of 5 Stars
I have been waiting for this book! The Saint of Liars is the second in the Lucky Devil Series, following up with the Finder of the Lucky Devil. If you have not read book one, stop everything that you are doing and do that right now. You will get so much from the first book and you will enjoy the second book even more because of that knowledge. This urban fantasy book/ series will draw those who are in love with book types such as The Hunger Games, Divergent, ect. We find ourselves again with Rune and Saint Benedict. Two very unlikely friends, lovers and companions. This story has espionage, mystery, intrigue and all around quick witted writing. The author can suck you in and not let you out with the rapid pace of the story but it is such as easy read that you do not feel that you are suffering from paragraph whiplash. I loved every minute of this book!
The Saints of Liars by Megan Mackie is a continuation of The Finder of the Lucky Devil. It was interesting to see how Rune grew as an individual and how she tries to find herself.
I loved seeing where the author takes this storyline, and what she does with each character. Like the first book, The Saints of Liars is full of magic and fantasy. As far as romance, it’s interesting to see what this book has to offer.
I actually enjoyed seeing the alternate Chicago full of magic that the author created. It was a pretty cool setting. I loved that this book didn’t disappoint and followed right where the initial book left off. This was a definite 4 Star Book.
The Saint of Liars was a great 5 star read. This is book two in the Lucky Devil series.
Rune is still learning about her magical powers, she has recently become the head of a magical house. She is also struggling to keep the bar she inherited from her aunt, in the green.
Saint Benedict is a Cyborg secret agent that has been in and out of Rune’s life. When he shows up again things start to get interesting for Rune. Can these two get past their issues? Can Rune keep her past in the past? Can Saint Benedict keep Rune safe?
There is so much that goes on in this book that I don’t want to give anything away. Once I started reading I couldn’t put it down. There are twists and turns. I did experience several emotions while reading. I really like the connection these two had. Both characters were great, Rune is a very determined and strong woman. Saint Benedict was great but needs some help. The author does a great job of pulling you into her world, I look forward to reading more from this series.
The Saint of Liars is book 2 in the Lucky Devil Series From author Megan Mackie. This is my second read from this author, and a brilliant introduction to her writing techniques, characters and compelling storylines.
This author has once again created a captivating storyline that has brilliant world-building, brilliant descriptions that help you mentally visualise the world that you are reading in your mind! This book was action packed from the get-go, and pulled you in completely, and had you on the edge of your seat with its various twists and turns throughout. This read is a brilliant take on the paranormal/fantasy genre. It’s filled with action, adventure, mystery and magic and some incredible main characters. This book flows seamlessly from chapter to chapters which makes it an even better read. Even after the small time jump from the end of the previous book into this one its smooth & flawless.
The characters from the previous book Rune & Saint Benedict still continue to stand out to me and carry making a great impact into this story. Along with some new secondary characters that also help give this story extra depth.
This is another great read from this author and I can’t wait to see what else Megan Mackie brings to this series, and more.
The Saint of Liars by Megan Mackie a thrilling five-star read. This is the second book in the Lucky Devil series. I have read the first book, so I don’t know if you could read it as stand-alone, I would say read the series mind as it is a very good series. Rune is a great character and one who will pull you into her story, she will make you want to keep reading to find out more of her story. This author has somehow managed to create an environment with lots going on and lots of influences but still manages to keep you hooked and understanding what’s happening and keeping up to date with it all. Saint Benedict aww what can we say about him, he has his own story and what a story is he too complicated to be with Rune? Or will they be difficult enough that they balance each other out. Thank you once again for a great story.
The Saint of Liars (Lucky Devil Series Book 2) by Megan Mackie
4 Stars
This is my second book by this author and I enjoyed it just as I did the first. Quite a bit going on and sometimes I got a little confused and had to reread a few spots, but once I caught on I was pretty much hooked.
This is not normally a genre I would read but reading about the books had me interested and I’m glad I did read this. The many twists and turns were placed perfectly and I did like the idea of the storyline..Very different than anything I’ve read before. This author has a way with words turning this into a great read. I loved the character of Rune and having to hide her past was interesting especially when she needed to revisit her past to uncover some secrets.
I would definitely read more in this series and will definitely keep an out for more by this author.
The Saint of Liars is the second book in the Lucky Devil series by Megan Mackie.
I enjoyed reading this book as much as the first one, maybe even a bit more. I suggest reading book 1 first as this storyline picks up two months after that one ends, this not to be read as a standalone. I love the action and magic in this story. The author will draw you in from the beginning and you won’t be able to put it down till you are done reading. Rune once again finds herself in danger and you must read to find out if Saint Benedict will be able to protect her like he said he would. This is a must read, I highly recommend this book and I’m hoping for a book three!!
