I received an ARC copy of this book and my thoughts and opinions are my own.
Debra Webb has done it again! This book is part of her ongoing Winchester Series. It is categorized as Romantic Suspense and it definitely does the genre justice. The characters are complex and wonderful. You keep turning the pages because you want to see what happens next but then, you want to slow down because you don’t want it to end. The reader will find themselves becoming more entranced by the town of Winchester the more you read this series.
I personally can’t wait for the next book in this series! I have loved every minute I have spent there!
If you haven’t read Debra Webb, you should. If you have, you’ll love these books!
The Safest Lies begins where The Stranger Next Door ends….Cece Winters is determined to find her brother, Levi; Decon calls in a favor to help her. Special Agent Sadie Buchanan is a specialist in retrieving hostages. She must infiltrate the camp which is deep within the Tennessee wilderness. Infiltrating into this dangerous group of well hidden extremists is not so hard. Getting out alive with her subject in tow is going to be one of her most difficult assignments…
Hidden inside a mountain their headquarters has effectively gone undetected. Their leader is greedy and rules with fear, torture, slavery and murder. No one going in comes out. Sadie has never failed in the past. Blindfolded as they brought her in, locked in a concrete room that closely resembles a prison, deep in a mountain she realizes this extraction will require all of her skills.
One of the top council members, Smith Flynn, is put in charge of finding out what Sadie’s real reason for wanting in the group. He is extremely well versed in ways to get the truth from people. He is feared by all and works directly with the leader of this group.
Sadie doesn’t know that Flynn Smith, is an undercover ATF agent that has been accepted into the groups highest leadership. He has been with the Resurrection group for two years. Flynn is not only suspicious of her, he is intensely attracted to her. The big question for Sadie is can she trust him?
Survival has little to do with this group. They are all about power and control. Flynn knows this and knows that he may not survive. Problem is that he now knows that he must, not only get Sadie out of this horrible place, he has to also get Levi out. Things go wrong at every turn and Sadie wonders if this will be the one she doesn’t survive.
I have really enjoyed reading the Winchester series and the books get better with each new addition. I am looking forward to reading the next installment. Debra Webb always entertains like no one else! The review is strictly by own; I did receive an ARC from the author.
Book 4 of Debra Webb’s A Winchester, Tennessee Thriller. This is a story of a FBI agent, Sadie Buchanan, going undercover on a retrieval mission. She is the best at this type of mission. The group called Resurrection, are anonymous but ruthless gun running, sex trafficking, possibly drug trade extremist preppers. They have been invisible to all efforts by ATF and FBI.
The previous FBI undercover agent that tried to expose and stop them has been missing and feared dead. One of the informants that was working with the missing agent, Levi Winters, has now disappeared and Sadie’s job is to get him back safely. If he is still alive.
Infiltrating into this dangerous group of well hidden extremists is not so hard. Sadie has made up what she thinks is a believable story of why they should accept her into their group. Getting out alive with her subject in tow is going to be one of her most difficult assignments. .

This is the fourth book in the Winchester, Tennessee series and each book seems to get better and better. I’m so glad I found my way back to Debra Webb.
The characters are great (even the ones you love to hate)!!! We are taken on an adventure with drug dealing, sex trafficking, cults, daring rescues with lots of twists and turns.
This is a fast paced, page turning read and if you love romantic suspense/thrillers than you are in for a sweet surprise.
I was given an arc for an honest review.

This is latest book by Debra Webb about the small town of Winchester, Tennessee and continues the story of the quest by Cecelia Winters to discover the truth about who murdered her father. Great story that keeps you guessing until the very end!
The Safest Lies
Debra Webb
I don’t know how she does it, but each Winchester, Tennessee book gets better and better.
Sadie goes in at great danger to herself to find Levi. The atrocities she sees and insured would make someone give up, but not Sadie. Now if she can only figure out Flynn.
Nonstop action, suspense, and nail biting reactions will keep you reading until the end. Remember to breathe.
Definitely 5 stars.
Debra Webb has knocked it out of the park again with her latest Winchester, TN romantic mystery/suspense! THE SAFEST LIES is about an FBI agent trying to rescue a young man named Levi from a cult in the deep woods and mountains near Winchester. Sadie is a capable agent, intelligent and more than willing to risk her life to save others. In her rescue efforts, Sadie meets Smith Flynn, a member of the cult who may not be who he seems. Sadie wants to know more about Smith and also wants to get out of the Resurrection group alive. The latter may be more difficult than she had counted on since the leader of the group is not just ruthless; he is just plain crazy! This book will capture the reader’s attention from the first page and make you want to just keep turning the pages until you find out what happens to Sadie, Smith and Levi. Fans of Debra Webb and those who enjoy romantic suspense with a healthy dose of suspense will thoroughly enjoy this book!

Agent Sadie Buchanan is called in to retrieve a hostage in a criminal camp deep in the wilderness, the only way she can do it is to infiltrate with the criminals. She is good at her job, but will she be able to get out with both the hostage and her alive? She is unexpectantly being helped by one of the leaders of the group, can she trust him or is he trying to trick her? This is another page turner by Ms. Webb that keeps the twists and turns coming. Don’t miss this series!
The Safest Lies by Debra Webb was the sequel to The Stranger Next Door and it answers the questions that the reader is left with in that book. I really enjoyed Sadie and the spunk she had as an FBI agent who had no fear when entering a situation that she had no idea what she was going to face. As for Flynn he was one of those characters you were not sure if you could trust or not but he was sexy as heck so you had no choice but to be drawn to him.
This story was very interesting and kept the reader guessing on who they could trust and what was really going on for a good part of the book so that added to the intrigue of the story. I was a bit disappointed that it lacked in the romance area but I guess being stuck in a extremist compound it is a bit hard to get the romance going on.
Overall, I enjoyed this book and enjoyed how this part of the Winchester mystery got dealt with. I am giving The Safest Lies five out of five stars.
Still in Winchester, Tennessee called in by Agent Deacon Ross to help find Cece Winters brother Levi. When help does arrive Agent Sadie Buchanan gets briefed on what has happened she decides how to handle it and Cece is willing to help out. But there Is an FBI Agent that is also that that no know about. It is a very interesting steady moving don’t want to put down book.
As Sadie and Flynn enter into an uneasy alliance to bring down a criminal camp deep in Tennessee woods, they have little trust in each other. As the danger becomes very real they must depend on and trust each other, however unwillingly. The suspense is ongoing and keeps building till very end. Debra Webb has another winner in this very good book!
