This story definitely gives you the heat of an inferno, but with a slow burn that devours you every step of the way. Michael and Kate are spectacular together, but they are even more so when they are fighting their mutual attraction. The audiobook enhances the flames to envelope you right along with them. Loved it!
This is the first in the Hidden Truths Series. Every book is perfect romantic suspense with electric love stories and gripping intrigue. Ms. Sahin has another series called Stealth Ops, and I’m loving that as well!
Brittney crushes the meeting of Michael and Kate! A stalker or two, a KNR, a socialite, a murder mystery, some Marines, some explosions and a love story all wrapped up in one! How could you not love this! It’s got everything a girl could want in one story! I couldn’t put it down!!
One of my first books by Brittney Sahin that I read and let me tell you, she became a “one-click” author for me. I devour everything that she has written, more than once. The way she tells her stories is truly amazing.
Michael Maddox is a former Marine, who after he left wanted to help fellow vets and started an investment firm to help vets by investing in their dreams. Michael uses his wealth to help those who fought for us.
Kate Adams is a party planner. She meets Michael in Charlotte, where she was born. Her father refuses to allow her to go because her mother dies there. Michael and Kate are thrown together when Kate’s life is in jeopardy. He vows to keep her safe. Through the trauma, he fights his attraction to her.
There is secrets, lies, murder plots, kidnapping, everything you expect from Brittney Sahin. A great series!
The Safe Bet is my first book by this author, and I immediately liked the book not only for the great characters but also because it takes place where I live. It is so neat to read about places you see all the time. I liked the dynamic between the lead characters. There was an attraction, but they did not immediately act upon it. The storyline with Kate was mysterious and added a suspenseful dimension to their story. There is enough background on Michael, so we understand how he made his money but that he is talented in his field. Michael’s friends give us glimpses of their personalities, and we can tell Michael and his friends have more stories coming, and that is something to look forward to in future reads. The only question is, who is next? One of the very best things about discovering a new author (to you) is knowing they have several series of books for you to look forward to reading. (*waves bye* as she picks up her Kindle)
4.5 Stars!!
Great read with twists and turns throughout. I love an alpha male with an Achilles heel. Sexual tension carried out a bit, but thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend.

This is the first book in the Hidden Truths series by Brittney Sahin.
This sort of book is right in my wheelhouse. Romantic suspense is my jam, my guilty pleasure. So how could I not love this? According to the author this was her first book and all I can say is WOW! Can I write a first book this good?
Kate Adams is an event planner and the sister of a millionaire asks her to plan a fundraising event to benefit the veterans of which Michael Maddox had been during his time in the service. There were many references to Superman and Man of Steel in this book so it gave me a good idea what Michael looked like during the course of the book. Michael has fired a few event planners before Kate. But there is just something about her that makes him accept the event and assist with the planning.
Michael was not only in the military but he created technology that made it easier for the government to do their secret spy jobs. Suddenly Kate has a stalker following her and a father pressing her to leave Charlotte where her mother had died supposedly during childbirth. This pulls Kate into Michael’s world and he is bound and determined to protect her. When they discover the identity of the stalker, everything changes and they realize just how their lives are in jeopardy.
This book really keeps you guessing and causes some pulse pounding moments. You just can’t put this book down and must discover what is going on. At least, if you’re me, that is how I sped through the book. I had to know.
Other reviewers have said how different this book was to others in this series. I agree it is a bit different but different isn’t bad. This is the first book. And from this book you learn to expand to other books in the series. Book two is about a bar owner who knew Michael from the military. Not everything is going to be the same. In the Stealth Ops series it is more cohesive because you know what to expect and know the team. Here the team is revealed in each book. Different but still good. I truly enjoyed book one in the Hidden Truths series and have already purchased all books in the line up.
Highly recommended.

For me, this was not Brittney’s best work. In fact, I could tell that this was her first novel because the writing was juvenile, too literal, and frankly a bit choppy. I tried to power through but ultimately didn’t really feel like wasting my time on her earlier novel when her later works are SO MUCH BETTER.
Rear storytelling and character development. Love love this author
Fun read. When you find the perfect man…As if that ever happens.
Kate has taken over her step mother’s event planning business and is off to Charlotte to set up an event with the handsome Michael and his sister Julia.
Her father is very against her going to Charlotte though. Kate knows her mother passed away here whilst giving birth to her, and believes this is behind his reticence.
Once in Charlotte though she realises she has a stalker and then finds out the truth of her mother’s death.
I enjoyed the suspense in the story. Michael and Kate’s romance is complicated.
Little bit of everything. This book held my interest as it was a bit different from the typical romance novels. She is an event planner and meets up with a rich handsome man who was. Vet in Afghanistan and came back to start a few lucrative businesses. She plans an auction ball but is being stalked as she works.
One of the best books i have read in a long time
Good reading
Great world and couple. Secondary characters also well developed
Exciting, well developed characters.
good romantic suspense
Well written, really good plot, and the characters were likable. Really a good read!! I want more from this author!
I liked this book! It was an easy read. The characters were flawed but so believable. I really enjoyed this book!

Standalone in a series
Kate Adams is a consummate professional, she assists in planning the perfect events and keeps her personal and professional life separated. Helping plan an event for the Maddox siblings should be no problem, except for those butterflies she gets around Michael that leave her tongue tied and incapable of thought. He would be the perfect catch for Kate, if he was up for more than a one-night-stand…and he wasn’t her client. When a stalker threatens Kate’s safety, Michael finds himself willing to do anything to protect her, anything except share his secrets and open his heart.
“You thought I would forget you?” His words sent shivers dancing up her spine, and she could have sworn she had a heart palpitation.
Kate struggles with the dangers of losing her heart, Michael faces the danger of sharing his secrets, together they tackle the dangers of a serious stalker, and I lost to the danger when I grew attached to the characters and their story. Silenced Memories is Brittney Sahin’s debut novel and the first novel in a standalone series titled Hidden Truths. This captivating book mixes romance with suspense, taking the mixture of business and pleasure another step further. The strongest part of Silenced Memories is the plot, it was really well fleshed out, easy to picture, and played out in my head like a movie would. I found my anxiety growing as the action picked up and I love a book that can make me experience the peril alongside the characters.
…no one had ever unlocked her soul this way before. Had she ever let a man really know her, before now?
I loved the multifaceted story line, I felt like I got to really know the characters outside of their romance and the threat of the stalker. I loved Kate, she’s a strong female character that knows herself, but isn’t immune to the power of the Man of Steel. She’s smart, beautiful, and at times a little irrational, but all the same fun to read about. Her family’s past plays a huge role in the story and I really enjoyed how she reacted and dealt with the secrets and twists. Michael, on the oher hand, is totally swoonworthy. I loved his character background and how much went into showing his successes as a business man and hidden flaws as he struggles with his past in the military. At times I couldn’t see these two working and at other times I thought they were soulmates, which made for a really interesting read. There is a ton of character development in Silenced Memories, especially when the characters recognize their feelings and start looking at themselves in new ways. I found myself wrapped up in them, just as surprised by the twists as they were. It’s definitely not a predictable book and it just got better with every page turn.
She had a stalker. And she was falling for a man with a field of ice around his heart.
If you are looking for a hot, sexy, and suspensful read, let me assure you that this is it. There’s secrets, apprehension, guns, lust, and some very headstrong characters at the center of this novel. Silenced Memories is just the tip of the iceberg in the Hidden Truths series, you’ll definitely find yourself eager to know more about all the secondary characters you meet in Silenced Memories. Give me more of the hot marines, for sure.
