Bad can be so very good.I used to be the stable one. Cushy desk job. Single and tolerating it. Nice, safe, boring dreams. I couldn’t be happier.BUT.These five seductive shifters have a mission: save the world by … five seductive shifters have a mission: save the world by stealing stuff. And they’ve brought me along for the ride.
My crew’s next target is Paris Fashion Week. Our mission: stop a mad designer from unleashing something truly unspeakable on the runway, and I don’t mean the return of parachute pants.
Will we save the day, or die trying?

The Runway Job, Stolen Hearts Crew Book 2
by Katya Moore
“…We just play our own individual roles. I turn on the charm. Feral punches anyone who needs punching. Kit hacks all the computers. Cory steals things. And acts like an asshole, but that’s less of a professional calling and more of a life choice.” ~Luxe to Lexi
TLDR: This is an adventurous, full of action (both in and out of bed), fast paced, sweet, thought-provoking, and funny RH. It is helpful to have read The Siren Job, Stolen Hearts Crew Book 1, but not necessary. I recommend this book wholeheartedly.
ARC: I received an Advanced Reader Copy in exchange for an honest review. I also purchased the book.
Release date: November 30, 2019
Technical stuff:
This story is a paranormal romance reverse harem. Included are shifters, mages, sorcerers, and magical items. There is explicit sex in the story line, as well as some NSFW language. There is no MM action beyond sharing a partner. There is some violence, but not much that may be triggering, and almost all of the violence happens “off-screen”. If these bother you, then perhaps this isn’t the book for you.
The story is told in first person, from several people’s perspectives. There is a cliff-hanger ending in the overarching story line although the “immediate” story is resolved within the book. It stands alone as a story, but a bit of nuance may be missing if you have not read The Siren Job, Stolen Hearts Crew Book 1.
Opinions and overview of story (with minimal/no spoilers):
I was very invested in the story and the characters from the beginning. They are not copies of one another; they have very real personalities, with their idiosyncrasies, mannerisms, and behaviors—again, both in and out of bed. I really enjoyed the deepening of our understanding of several backstories. There are also several “new” people that are introduced in this book, and it is clear that these will become more important as the story goes on. This book made me feel all the feels. It was by turns sensual, creepy, thought-provoking, sexy, humorous, surprising, magical; it created anxiety, anger, empathy, horror, and tension. Last but not least – it addressed body-shaming.
There were tentative approaches to romance, interactions between team members that clearly had backstories that have not yet been explained, amusing references to behaviors the various shifters exhibit in their human forms, and comments that had me, by turns, tearing up and laughing so hard I snorted.
I definitely enjoyed the story, the sex scenes are fun and hot, the relationships feel authentic and developing for richer depth of character. I definitely recommend reading this book.
Previous books/backstory: *PREVIOUS BOOK SPOILERS*
Alexandria (Alex) is a linguistics whiz. It takes her sometimes only hours or days for her to learn a new language, and is employed by Mother Glory —quite possibly the rock star that has the most, and the most dedicated, followers. Alex is employed to help translate between all of the different people and languages necessary for a successful world tour. Mother Glory has a necklace called the Soul’s Tears that is iconic. Mother Glory asks Alex to read a scroll with the text of an unknown language. Alex does as she is asked, somehow internalizes the magic the scroll had contained, and begins floating and her eyes give off a green shine. The scroll crumbles to dust.
A group of shifters with specialized skills for mounting heists are on scene in hopes of stealing the scroll and destroying it, at the behest of someone who uses the computerized voice of Selexa. The team is made up of five men: Roc, the leader/strategist, a wolf shifter; Luxe, the charming mountain lion shifter that can transition seamlessly between personalities; Feral, Luxe’s brother-from-another-mother is the muscle of the group and a black panther shifter; Cory, a thief, artist, raven shifter and asshole extraordinaire; and Kit, computer hacker whiz and fox shifter. Alex is attracted to them all at some level—except possibly Cory.
You’ll need to read the Siren Job, though, to discover the rest.
