The jury is behaving strangely, and at least one juroris convinced he’s being watched. Soon they have to be sequestered. Then a tip from an anonymousyoung woman suggests she is able … able to predict the jurors’ increasingly odd behavior. Is the jury somehow being manipulated, or even controlled? If so, by whom? Great book
Great book by a great author.
Outstanding
I did not like this book. If you like lawyers picking and tampering with a jury , then this is a book for you.
Read long time ago but it sticks with me, especially after having served in a jury. Excellent characters and plot.
John Grisham is one of my favourite authors and this book is true to Grisham form!
“The Runaway Jury” is based on an interesting premise where the protagonist attempts to inveigle his way onto a jury to turn the verdict. While the premise carries the plot through a series of twists and turns, the fact that the protagonists’ motives are concealed until the end makes it difficult to sympathize with them, and to revel in their highs and lows. What is left is the story of two competing camps of soulless lawyers trying their best to either represent an unsympathetic client, or manipulate a jury for their personal gain. Of course, Grisham is an expert at portraying soulless lawyers, and the flaws and virtues of the characters on the jury are portrayed in the realistic way any Grisham fan would have come to expect.
