Men are good for two things: orgasms and reaching the wine glasses on the top shelf.ARI: I’ve always said boyfriends are like martinis; they’re lots of fun at first, but the longer you indulge the bigger headache they’ll give you. With career goals to crush and more than a few balls in the air, there’s no place in my life for the messy complications of love. Jax Crosby thinks he can tempt me to … can tempt me to lose control and he’s using his daughter to reel me in. He’d be dangerously easy to fall for, but there are more important things in life than love, aren’t there?
JAX: I like to stay two steps ahead; that way, I’m never surprised. But even I didn’t see this one coming. Congratulations to me—I’m a freakin’ dad. Now I’ve got a teenage daughter who hates me, an ex who wants to cut things off my body I’m not ready to part with, and an attraction to a curvy songbird that couldn’t have come at a worse time. But I’ve never met a situation I couldn’t handle, and I’ve never let a female get the best of me. So why do I have the feeling Ariana Amante might be one more thing I never saw coming?

The Runaround By Sylvia Stewart
I love books like this! This will give you your family drama, single daddy, and romance fix all in one.Ari and Jax had that sexy push-pull thing going on. After being pushed away, Jax asked her to be a vocal coach for his awesome daughter Lola. She agrees and thinks she can handle being on the outside. But ends up becoming emerged in their daddy-daughter relationship. This dynamic they have is touching. Hello hot single dad….meet sexy songbird Ari. I read this book in less than a DAY! This book will get you hooked on the very first page. Wonderfully written! Witty! Sexy! Romantic! Fun!
I loved this book from page one. You always know within the first 2 chapters in your going to love or hate the book. I should’ve known before I started reading that I was going to love it. Sylvie Stewart has had me hooked from the first book I’ve read of hers. I can add this to my list of faves by her.
Jax finds out he has a daughter but she isn’t a young little girl. She’s a teenager! How do you expect a teenage girl to react finding out she has a dad whom she has never met before. Jax keeps trying but, Lola wants nothing to do with him.
Jax reaches out to Ari who he knows thru mutual friends. Ari has an awesome voice and becomes Lola’s voice teacher. Jax knows getting Ari involved could be risky because there is a lot of sexual tension between them. Ari worked on creating a website for Jax last year and it was a miracle he got thru it without throwing her down.
Ari and Jax try to be friends but they both imagine more happening between them. What will happen when they slip up and give into temptation? Will it be a one time thing like Jax is used to or will he not be able to get enough. How will Lola react? Will Lola ever see Jax as her dad or will she always have the teenage attitude? I felt bad for Jax throughout the book because he tried hard to get to know Lola but she blamed him for not being around even though he had no idea about her until that phone call from her mom.
I look forward to more books by this author. I love her work. You don’t want to skip by this great read. Grab your copy today.
I love the way Stewart writes and am so glad this book landed in my library. I found myself laughing out loud at times with the characters and the dialogue. I felt like these were people I knew and I was excited to read how things would develop. Clever and witty, Stewart is a go to when you just want a well written book. Loved it.
The Runaround was a great 5 star read and book six in The Carolina Connections series.
Ari is a very busy woman with a lot of goals. She isn’t looking for any type of relationship. One night while DJing for Karaoke night she sees Jax. She had helped him a while back with his website and he is very hot. She is surprised when he approaches her and asks her for a favor, he would like her to give singing lessons to someone.
Jax was surprised with the news that he is a father. He is trying to build a relationship with his daughter so he gets her singing lessons with Ari. Ari is someone that he is very attracted to, but the timing is very off for any type of relationship for him. As they spend more time together, things start to change between them. They try to keep things a secret from their friends.
How long can they keep it a secret? Can these two get their lives straight and have something together?
Overall I really enjoyed this read. All of the secondary characters were great, I really liked Ari’s family. It was interesting to watch how their relationship developed and the direction it went. I’m really enjoying this series and I can’t wait to read more from this author.
I have read all of the books in this series, this one is my favorite yet. One of the things I enjoy most about this series, this book included is how the author is able to mix humor into her romance. Her characters bring the story to life with the connectivity and their chemistry. Ari is a woman who thinks there are more important things to life than romance. Jax is a single dad who has everything under control until he meets Ari. What fate has instore for them neither one will see coming. I highly recommend their story.
The Runaround by Sylvie Stewart a flirty four-star read. This is number six in the Carolina Connections series and they can be read as stand-alone but honestly they are so much fun I would advise to read them in order as they do build form each other and they show us the talent that Sylvie Stewart has as a writer. Ari you have a drive that not many would, that made me smile so much, and she just made me feel like I had some get up and go just reading her story. Jax is a confusing character but when you read his story you start to see why. This was a great story, about timing issues and also worry about others, and overthinking, we all have these in our lives and I think that’s why you will be able to identify with something in this story and that will make this a great read for anyone.
Jax and Ari both have attitude and issues which make them the perfect story to watch how they figure things out about themselves and each other. Ari is a take no prisoners, no filter bada##and I love her totally sarcastic personality. You will laugh at their antics and cringe at the emotional baggage these two and Lola bring to the story. I can’t wait to see who’s story is next for these Carolina connections friend and family!

Ari is a talented woman who has a long term plan and is working multiple jobs to see those plans come to fruition. She’s agreed to be a voice coach for Jax’s daughter Lola. Try as she might to stay out of it, she can’t help notice the tension between Lola and Jax, and she can’t help but want to find out what happened to cause that rift, and how she can fix it.
Even though Jax is known for playing the field, he’s become hooked on Ari from the start. Her voice, her smile, her body. Not to mention that she’s incredibly smart and definitely going places. But he’s a single father, Lola hates him and Lola’s mom does not make it easy. After a fling has him wanting more, he’s not sure how they could work a relationship. Especially considering how private he is. But these two deserve a chance.
I always know when I read a Sylvie Stewart novel that I’m going to laugh and I’m going to swoon. I love Ari’s inner monologue as it has me laughing out loud. Lola is a fantastic character and I hope down the road, when she’s a bit older, that she might get a book of her own because I could not get enough of her. The Runaround is angsty, it’s hilarious and sexy as hell. There might have even been a few moments where I needed a tissue because Ari and Jax were just too much. I absolutely loved this book, it’s such a great addition to the series.
Ari & Jax have a complicated relationship. The title for the book is perfect. They love to give each other the runaround. Lots of sass in this one including Lola who is just a teenager learning from the best. Sass will get you noticed

The storyline is well-developed, consistent, and emotionally deep; it will keep you on the edge of your seat wondering what is to come next. Likeable characters; the chemistry between them is potent. A really emotional romance.
Ariana knew that Jax was trouble from the first time they met but she’d avoided him so far and thought she was safe. However, when Jax discovers he has a teenage daughter and she wants singing lessons, he knows just who to go see. The one woman he wanted but wouldn’t go after because he needed to focus on his daughter, Lola. But the connection between these two just won’t go away and it’s slowly driving them insane. But can they be together with everything that is going on in their lives?
I really adored this story even though it made me cry a couple of times. It’s well- written and developed and will pull you in until the very end.
This is the sixth book in the Carolina Connections series but I read it as a standalone very easily.

Another enjoyable story by Sylvie Stewart. This is a romantic comedy that has awesome chemistry between Ari and Jax. The funny banter between the two has a little bit of heat to it. Once I started reading, I couldn’t put this book down. It’s a must read.
This is an amazing and easy book to read. Each turn of the pages reveals how well the characters are well developed and engaging with a smooth storyline.

I have been waiting for this story!! It fits right in with Sylvie Stewart’s sweet, emotional, flirty, laugh out loud romantic comedies. The Runaround is part of her Carolina Connections series; but can be read as a stand-alone.
Ari was a go getter, making sure she had a back up for the back up. Her dream of owning her own business was within reach. Nothing could distract her from rising to the top. Not even a sexy man with an amazing daughter…right?
Jax was thrown for a loop; his ex never told him he had a daughter. He missed out on many years and was thrown into the teenage years! Talk about a curve ball! Trying to navigate his way has proven to be quite difficult until Ari became a magical teenage whisperer. With Ari’s help he was able to start building a relationship with his daughter. But with that comes a relationship with Ari. Can Jax handle both or will they be too much for him?
What a ride! Jax and Ari were perfect for each other in every way! Be prepared to use some tissues! Such an amazing story, Sylvie hit this one out of the park! (I hope Lola gets her own story so we can see Jax freak out )
I love Sylvie Stewart’s stories! You are guaranteed great friends, wonderful characters, crazy laugh out load moments and a story that keeps you reading as it is filled with tiny nuances.
Ari, Jax and Lola had a real rollercoaster of things happen but in the end they are stronger together
Ari and Jax’s story is filled with laughter, steam, regrets, and a beautifully developed relationships that will capture your heart. I loved this story – Ari is striving to make better life decisions when Jax enters her life. She is giving his daughter (who he just learned about) voice lessons. Can these two fight beyond their pasts and focus on their future? You will laugh, cry, scream at them, and ultimately be so happy you chose this book!
Is he such a sweet talker that she really cannot trust him?
With her it’s real – with them and his daughter it must be the best thing, for all of them- right?
Hype? A stumbling block to her career?
Or really the best thing ever?
