One quest. One crown. One shattered heart. The Royal Trials were never meant to be easy, not even for an imposter like Rybet Waise. But nothing could have prepared her for the magical storms, mutated animals and malicious gods standing in her way. There is no time for tears, mere hours after being bathed in Prince Alexander’s blood, Rybet must embark on a quest. The second trial dictates she find a … dictates she find a missing magical artefact–Queen Ophelia’s crown.
Released from the overbearing confines of the royal palace, Rybet competes not only with the other remaining ladies, but also with the land itself. Magic is more volatile than ever, and the gods have come out to play.
Royal love interests who don’t know how to share only make things harder for this dirty pond-dweller–if that’s really all she is.
Rybet will do whatever it takes to make it out alive, and with her heart unbroken.

This is book 2 of the royal trials series and it’s a great read – adventure , love and lust , and magic .
While I enjoyed reading it there were parts of the story that just lacked … it’s a RH with the h falling for all 3 princes and the princes loving her back but not wanting to share . I’m generally not a fan of RH which is why it lowers the score for me I think . I hate the “I love him but I can’t choose between him and someone else “ kind of nonsense and There’s a lot of that throughout this book .
The heat between the MCs is also somewhat lacking mainly because of that “I can’t choose “ which seems
To be thrown in every time they start getting intimate .
Over all though the rest of the plot is interesting and engaging and and enjoyable read !
This book does end on a cliff hanger so be ready to want to go straight into book 3
WOW, I’m still in shock. To be honest, if I hadn’t read the note from Tate at the end of the book I would’ve been freaking out a hell of a lot more than I currently am. I’m so glad that Tate James took her time with this one, because it turned out so amazingly. I know how difficult it is to get even the smallest things accomplished with small children (especially newborns and toddlers) around. Which only proves her talent, creativity and dedication to not only herself but her writing and fans as well.
This was definitely a wild journey for Ry and her princes, so many crazy things happen and I can’t wait to read what Tate has in store for them next. Zan has been my favorite from the start so I freakin hope to whatever Gods are on Rybet’s side that I get more answers, action and adventure and sexy time from that hunky ass moody man in the next book! I VERY highly recommend this book, it has a bit of everything in it and is so freaking worth reading!
My head was fogged and pounding like I’d had a hard night on scarlettberry wine, but my body buzzed with energy. It was similar to how I’d felt after being caught in the wild magic storm, but more.
Where was I?
Why wasn’t I wearing any shoes?
What had happened…?
Yet despite these questions, I kept walking.
One foot after another.
Left, right, left, right.
Just keep walking… until you reach the town.
I devoured it! In my book that means it’s pretty amazing and beyond!
Can’t wait to read the third part.
I am on tenterhooks…I understand the need for cliffhangers but boy to they wring me out! Ooooooo so many questions have been answered in this book. And, yay, I guessed right! I love all the interplay between Rybet and her guys. And I love that it’s not all running smoothly. I couldn’t put the blooming book down! I need the next book and I need it now!

Edit: After re-reading this series, this is my updated review.
******** May Contain Some Spoilers ********
I will try my absolute best to keep spoilers to a minimum or completely out of my review. Sometimes it can be hard to do so.
OMG, Tate out did herself with this book. Imposter was captivating, but this book is more captivating. Calla discovers the truth about the princes. Calla gets kidnapped. The Gods are hunting Calla down to kill her. While traveling to find the crown , Calls finds out the truth about who she is and what happened to her world. Adventure, action, love, sadness, and more betrayal are just some of the enthralling events in this book.
•••••• I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book/series! ••••••

Tate has done amazing job with book 2 of this series. The storyline continues so flow smoothly from book 1. The character developments are getting stronger. Emotions are running high with all the main characters. This was such a great read.
I definitely recommend this book!

Omg this book WOW. I love everything about this story. It just gets better and better. The characters I absolutely love, the connection between Luna (Rybet) and the princes is undeniable. Secrets are revealed and what a secret it was. I need the next book ASAP because the ending ugh I need too know what happens next. Truly an amazing read that blew me away.
Well. If it’s one thing that this author is very good at, it’s a cliffie. Basically, I’ve just accepted I’m going to die a little inside and suffer a book hangover at the end of each book in the series. It’s okay; when you have a great author that writes amazing books you make these decisions and live with them.
This book is just as entertaining and captivating as the first book. I still stand by what I said in the first book; I would happily be friends with Rybet. She’s the type of characters who will go to bat for you with everything she has until you cross her, and you might want to pray to Aana if that happens. What I liked about this book is that it introduced quite a bit of mystery to the story. Some people might complain there are unanswered questions, but this is book 2. Of course, there are. I thought going into this book I knew who Rybet was, and I was kind of right, but there’s a whole lot of I-had-no-idea-this-was-coming-what’s-next about her now that I just can’t wait to see. And I have no idea where her relationships are going with the guys. In general, this book has me on the edge of my seat, and I cannot wait until the next one comes out.
