A Surprise Pregnancy Romance with a Royal Twist, from the New York Times Bestselling author of A Nordic King and My Life in Shambles. Every family has a black sheep – even the royal ones.In the royal family of Denmark, that black sheep is me. To the public I’m known as Princess Stella, but I feel anything but royal. As a single mom, divorcee, social outcast, and forever forgotten about under the … forgotten about under the magnetism and power of my older brother, King Aksel, I’m used to being an outlier. Though it doesn’t matter when my whip-smart nine-year old daughter, Anya, is my whole world anyway.
Then that world of mine gets turned upside down.
I meet Prince Orlando of Monaco, whom the media has dubbed “The Royal Rogue” for many good reasons. I can’t stand that arrogant smirk on his face, the lewd words that leave his lips – pretty much everything about him. I especially can’t stand how infuriatingly sexy he is and how he manages to get under my skin like no one else.
It’s been a long time since a man could make me feel that way, so you can’t really blame me for throwing my willpower out the window and succumbing to a brief but torrid affair with him, full of hot, dirty sex and nothing else.
Until that nothing else turns into something more, in the form of a big surprise.
I thought I got that wicked royal rogue out of my system but there’s a link between us now that neither of us can ignore.
A baby.
The Royal Rogue is the 4th book in the Nordic Royals series but, like the other books in the series, can be read as a complete standalone This book contains a lot of sex and swearing, reader discretion is advised**

Rolando and Stella are such a fun, sexy couple. Loved reading about them and their happily ever after.

She is to host the Royals from Monaco when she meets Prince Orlando. They are drawn to each other and it is hot and sexy. Lots of angst and so so good. And their accents are great Love this series so much.

The cover is mouthwatering, but not exactly what I would expect given the title.
The story is good. I really didn’t expect that much story given the fact that it’s a steamy romance. But the story in this is really quite good. The divorced Danish Princess Stella is doing quite well raising her daughter on her own. She’s not looking for another husband. But sex without strings can be interesting. And along comes Prince Orlando of Monaco, who’s been called the “Royal Rogue”. He’s great to look at and what comes out of his mouth is totally inappropriate when addressing a royal princess, even if he is a prince. But nothing seems to stop him or discourage him. Stella’s not sure when it happened, but her distaste turns to dalliance and dalliance turns to a possible disaster when the ultimate result comes about for them. Read how they go from insults to intimacy in this fourth book of the series. Then if you haven’t read any of the other, go read some of them, too.
The tension and pace are great, keeping the excitement high throughout the book. The author draws her characters well so that you get to know them and understand them and want more. I went right to the site and bought another book in the series. I recommend this book and the series.
So far the Nordic Royal series (which are about different characters and can be read as stand alones) have been excellent and Royal Rogue was amazing! I love surprise baby romances and this book was entertaining, hot, engaging and heartfelt. I simply adored Orlando and Stella as they were wonderful characters who captured my heart immediately. This is a definite must read!!
It seems like I’ve been waiting forever to finally read Princess Stella’s story (though it’s really only been about a year), but “The Royal Rogue” by Karina Halle was worth the wait. This book gave me all the feels, and I loved it.
Ms. Halle is a master of creating realistic, well-developed, endearing characters and I always find it easy to empathize with whatever they’re going through. I was intrigued by Stella when she was first introduced in her brother, King Aksel’s, book (“The Nordic King”), and now that I have gotten to know her better through this story, I absolutely adore her. Stella had a tough go of it with her first husband, and it made me incredibly happy to see her finally get an HEA of her very own with Prince Orlando. As for Orlando, he is a totally swoon-worthy hero, much kinder and more loving than his bad boy reputation would suggest. He is a perfect match for Stella, and even though he makes some mistakes along the way, the important thing is that he gets it right in the end.
This book also featured some fantastic secondary characters, and yes, I’m including Snarf Snarf the pig here. I love Snarf Snarf so much and am thrilled that he made another appearance in this book! The scene when Orlando meets Snarf Snarf for the first time was laugh-out-loud funny and easily one of my favorite parts of the book. I also loved Stella’s daughter, Anya. She’s sweet, funny, and adds some much needed lightness and humor to the story. Orlando’s sister Matilde is pretty awesome too. She gives Orlando the real talk that he needs, right when he needs it. (Maybe Matilde can get a book of her own at some point in the future? I wouldn’t mind checking in on all of these characters one more time!)
Even Orlando’s “girlfriend,” Zoya, was an interesting, complex character that I ended up liking in the end. At first, I couldn’t get over how selfish she seemed and how easily Orlando let her manipulate him, but it was a nuanced situation, and I could understand why he felt pulled so strongly in two different directions.
Finally, the love scenes in this book were H-O-T, but also surprisingly romantic. Orlando really seemed to care for Stella from the very beginning, even when they were supposed to be having a purely physical, short-term fling. Orlando looked out for Stella’s needs and desires first, no matter what, which I really appreciated.
Overall, “The Royal Rogue” was another phenomenal read by Karina Halle, and I can’t wait to get my hands on her next book!
Lovely book. Wonderful characters with quirks and flaws but still enough to make you cheer them on. The only complaint I have is that it ended.
I’ve loved Karina Halle’s Nordic Royals series and was so excited to finally get Stella’s story! As a single mom, I couldn’t wait to hear her backstory and learn more about this Danish Princess. The Royal Rogue reads as a complete standalone but since it revolves around the royal family of Denmark, there are spoilers regarding her brother Aksel and his wife. It won’t affect your enjoyment of the story if you haven’t read A Nordic King, however.
Stella and Orlando are smoking hot together. He’s a dirty talker who oozes sex. When these two set their sights on one another it’s electric. But they run hot and cold as outside forces interfere in their relationship yet their connection runs deep. When an unexpected pregnancy complicates things, Stella and Orlando come to a crossroads. Will these two find their happily ever after?
The Royal Rogue is emotional and will take you on a wild ride of ups and downs. I found myself turning the pages quickly and not wanting to put the book down because I needed to know what was going to happen. Halle does a great job of making us feel Stella and Orlando’s emotions firsthand. I loved this one!
Princess Stella gets her book as she falls in love with the roguish Prince Orlando. They decide to embrace some hot, no strings, physical interaction but end up with the big string of a surprise pregnancy. I loved how they handled the pregnancy and I appreciated that the author did not make it without some complications, because in real life there are complications. I loved that Stella had her family’s support and that Orlando’s family helped him see reason. I did not like how Orlando made wrong choices initially for reasons that felt a like a little bit of a stretch. Stella and Orlando have amazing chemistry and deliver off the charts heat in this book. Once they got things figured out I really loved how they learned to be there for each other.
Overall, I really enjoyed the book and I think it makes a good addition to the Nordic Royals series.
I adored this!!! This is the type of book you want to read in one sitting. Stella and Orlando captured me from the very first page. The banter and chemistry had me hooked, and the fast pacing of the book kept me going. It’s funny, sexy, heartfelt, and swoon worthy, with just the right amount of angst. There’s nothing about this book I didn’t like. I was definitely smiling when it over. This is now up there as one of my favorite Karina books!
4.5 ‘Tu me manques’ Stars!
I am a fan of royal romances and I can definitely state that Karina Halle did a fantastic job with this series of standalones. I do believe, after that beautiful ending, that this is the conclusion and it was perfectly done. I adored Stella and Orlando, their burning chemistry, the feelings and how everything developed between them. I love me a dirty talking hero and, of course, Karina did not disappoint with Prince Orlando. He and Stella are amazing and together with the children they become so much more. It was simply wonderful to read this novel!
I loved this love story so much and I highly recommend reading The Royal Rogue and the whole Nordic Royals series if you are a fan of Karina’s writing and if you enjoy royal romances. Trust me, you don’t want to miss meeting these wonderful characters!
4.5 STARS
NO SPOILERS!
The Royal Rogue was a sweet, sexy, funny, and swoon-worthy standalone royal romance from Karina Halle, and I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline and characters she created.
The storyline was, for the most part, what you’d expect from a surprise baby romance, but with a royal twist. Karina did a great job with Prince Orlando and Princess Stella’s story, and while some things were a tad predictable, others were not. Honestly, I would’ve loved more of everything with Orlando and Stella, but I was very happy with what I did receive.
I loved the characters. Orlando and Stella, as well as all of the secondary characters, were extremely likable and lovable. And boy, were they entertaining. Orlando and Stella had wonderful personalities, and their chemistry together was off the charts SMOKING HOT. I’m talking setting your Kindle on fire.
The Royal Rogue was another sexy, fun, and entertaining standalone royal romance from Karina Halle, and I would definitely recommend it! I loved Orlando and Stella’s story, and can’t wait to read more contemporary romances from this very talented author!
A sweet royal romance! A lovely story, with the right amount of steam!
The attraction is instant with Stella and Orlando. Orlando is a sexy, dirty talking royal, with a heart of gold. Stella is a caring princess, and a strong single mother. I enjoyed their connection and how it grew into something more.
We also get moments from our favorites from Nordic King. It’s great to get a bit more of Aksel and Aurora. We even get a moment from Snarf Snarf. lol
This is a quick, sexy must read romance with a HEA! Grab yourself a glass of wine or cup of tea, and cozy up with this book!
Stella and Orlando’s romance was royal magic. The steamy, hot scenes, dirty talking hero, and strong, independent heroine made for a story I couldn’t put down!
Stella is a single mom, doesn’t need help from anyone, and hates the paparazzi and tabloids. She is loyal to a fault and would do anything for her family. Being royal isn’t her favorite thing in the world, but she truly loves her country.
Orlando is the royal rogue…at least that is what everyone thinks. He is keeping secrets upon secrets for everyone and would never break a promise. The pressure to save his country’s future is all on his shoulders and it changes his view on how he can live his life.
Both of these characters are just going through the motions of their lives not living life to the fullest, but when they meet sparks fly.
I honestly loved the pacing of their love. It wasn’t insta love and it wasn’t really a slow burn. They knew they were going to be connected to one another, and they took the time to really decide what they wanted and what was best for them. This made the romance so much more realistic and enjoyable.
Now I couldn’t end this review without mentioning my favorite pet of all time Snarf Snarf. He makes plenty of appearances that will have you laughing so hard, and there’s a new pet in town, Sir Mokey, that threatens to steal the show. I love how these pets play important roles in these books and add just enough humor.
