I admit I was drawn to this because of the cover but I stayed for the story. It was full of struggle, romance, darkness, difficult choices, friendship and fantasy. The story was beautifully written and Bird has the ability to pull the characters’ emotions off the pages and pass them onto the reader. I loved the darker elements to the story and got caught up in the little moments between Aldara and Prince Tyron. I loved being swept up in the fantasy of it all and look forward to reading more within this world.
Tanya Bird has created a masterpiece. I can’t wait to continue reading the other books!
This book brought out all the emotions. I loved it and had to keep reading. Glad I did.
Such beautiful characters! But the womens’ interaction with the rest of the world felt unconvincing.
Good book. Hooked me right way and read all the sequels. I liked the storyline and th good and th bad characters. I could imagine this going on back in medieval times.
Really slow rhytmn, surely a realistic description of a medievel treatment for women. Violence content and a cliffhanger.
enjoyed it until it came to the end has a cliffhanger ending which i did not enjoy. did not enjoy how it ended. i had a good vibe with this book till the last few chapters.
The Royal Companion leaves you rooting for the heroine to find her inner strength. Through the challenges she faces, you see her confidence continue to grow. An enjoyable book for those who love romance.
This is glorified book about sex trafficking with a rape scene. The author made trafficking sound romantic. An attempt was made to show the gritty side but it was feeble at best.
Wonderfully written. Well developed characters that draw you into their world.
It was pretty good .
It kept me reading. I very much enjoyed the book.
I devoured this series! I could not get enough of the plot or the characters. LOVED it!
I don’t know how ‘realistic’ this book is in history, but it was a great read. I look forward to getting the rest of the series.
I really enjoyed this book! I’m waiting until I have some extra money so I can buy the other books in the series! The author pulls you into this poor girl’s world where she may not be able to choose her fate, but she has the courage and stubborn will to see her through it.
Overall a good read. Ending was a bit rushed.
Love this series. It keeps you guessing the whole way through
I loved this series. Couldn’t put it down.
Well developed, complex characters.
Beware of trigger ( Rape, abuse ), I have to say that this book sucks you in and keeps you hooked!
