I enjoyed reading this book, I’m only hoping that the author has fixed the continuity of the story.
A few things are wrong.
Truth be told, it’s not a bad book, I have my own issues with this story, such as the Lady Rory is a bit of a snob, even though her brother has wed a woman without being born of the ton, she snubs Clayton.
My disclaimer…
I was given a copy of this book for my honest review.

This is a regency romance with a twist that does not take place in the ballrooms of London or a lavish country estate. It takes place in a rundown home that needs some TLC to bring it back to its glory days. Lady Rory Chadwick was in hot water and had to flee London. She went to the home left to her by her great aunt. On her travel there she met Clayton Murdoch a home builder who was returning from Africa. His real name was Lord Clayton Powell, the younger brother to the Duke of Ashford. His professional name was Murdoch so he stuck with it. The attraction and sexual tension between Rory and Clayton were so pronounced that it made them irritable and unfriendly with each other. When Rory hired Clayton to fix up the house for her, he agreed and they made a hard bargain. But their attraction was getting harder and harder to ignore. A kiss here a kiss and caress there and things began to escalate. The problems, threats and trouble Rory left behind in London found her in the country. Luckily Clayton was able to rescue Rory from two brutes. After they left, she confessed all to Clayton. Instead of judgement she saw compassion in his eyes. The time came for Clayton to reveal his true name to Rory but she kept putting him off for one reason or another. When she found out she felt betrayed and lied to. She walked away from him. How were they ever to reconcile this? A sweet love story, a little predictable but still enjoyable. I received a free copy of this book via Hidden Gems and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The third book in the Sinners Club series the storyline is well written and held my interest throughout. Clayton Powell came back to England but he hides his identity and Lord Powell became Mr. Murdoch a well- respected home builder in Cape Town he returns to England where he meets Lady Aurora Chadwick. I enjoyed reading how these two get their happy ending. I will be reading the other books in this series. I received an Arc of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing.
The Rough Lord is the third book in the Sinners Club series but is a standalone book. Clayton Powell (youngest brother of the Duke of Ashford) has returned to England a different man compared to before he was kidnapped. His time in Africa was spent doing hard work as a home builder under the name of Mr. Murdoch and he was not ready to go home to his previous life. The Duke convinces him to come home and see his family. Once he arrives in England, he meets Lady Aurora and decides to help her do construction on her home as a way to prolong his return to his family. Aurora has accumulated a debt from gambling and doesn’t want to contact her brother for money. She decides to fix her home and sell it to settle her debts but she needs Clayton’s help. Things become rough once Clayton’s identity if revealed. Will they have their HEA? I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
