I was standing on one leg shucking oysters when the problems began… Don Tillman and Rosie Jarman are back in Australia after a decade in New York, and they’re about to face their most important challenge. Their son, Hudson, is struggling at school: he’s socially awkward and not fitting in. Don’s spent a lifetime trying to fit in–so who better to teach Hudson the skills he needs? Meanwhile, … he needs?
Meanwhile, there are multiple distractions to deal with: the Genetics Lecture Outrage, Rosie’s troubles at work, estrangement from his best friend Gene…And opening the world’s best cocktail bar.
Hilarious and thought-provoking, with a brilliant cast of characters, The Rosie Resultis the triumphant final instalment of the much-loved and internationally bestselling Rosie trilogy.

‘Don Tillman and Rose Jarman are fiction’s most unlikely couple but Graeme Simsion’s skills with dialogue and tone make them, and their relationship, (just) believable. Hudson, too, is uncomfortably believable. Simsion has mighty intellectual confidence but behind all the steady wit, the rolling jokes, the faux innocence and the cocktail instruction, this is a thoughtful and provocative novel [with] a grand design that will have relevance in the lives of many individual readers…Accomplished novel, mission accomplished.’ Helen Elliott, Age
‘[Don Tillman] has almost transcended the boundaries of fiction to become a geek icon.’ Guardian
‘One of the most endearing, charming and fascinating literary characters I have met in a long time.’ The Times
‘This is a busy book with a large cast of characters, new and old. As the last in the series, there are a lot of threads to tidy up; wry humour and set pieces intermingle with serious intent in The Rosie Result…It’s a pleasure to inhabit Don’s rational mindset again: “We should restrict the discussion to the facts first. Table the evidence, then consider our options. Understand the problem, explore solutions.” Indeed. Welcome back, Don.’ Australian
‘The Rosie trilogy is deserving of the accolades it has garnered and The Rosie Resultis the best possible goodbye to the world of Don Tillman.’ Mary Dalmau
‘The comedy is still there but there’s a philosophical seriousness to this one, which brings the whole issue much closer to home. I liked it very much and I recommend it.’ The Bookshelf, Radio National
‘It is an ambitious task: writing a light and engaging novel while incorporating a serious topic in an inclusive manner. But Simsion pulls it off, maintaining a strong sense of characterisation and narrative, all the while encouraging readers to question their own values.’ Conversation
Charming, eloquent, and insightful, The Rosie Resultis a triumphant conclusion to Don’s story, one that celebrates this remarkable father, husband, and friend in all his complexity and brilliance.’ Booklist(starred review)

I really enjoyed this third book as it centers around Hudson and his struggles as a kid who is growing up different. I feel like this book was a great finish to this mini series. Hudson is such a loveable character and so much like his father that you have to laugh at him some times, even if you feel like you shouldn’t. It is his little quirks that are the best. This book centers around Hudson and the struggles he is facing at school because he is what the teachers keep saying is different. Hudson works hard to change their perspective of him, proving the level of intelligence that already exists in someone so young. If you are already invested in this series, you need to finish with this great conclusion to the story.
As I had previously stated, I did not have high expectations for this book! The first one was super good! The second was alright. This book was not very good. It took until the last 50ish pages to get good (in my opinion). It took me forever to read because I felt like it just drug on and was so boring! I wouldn’t recommend this book!
There are 3 books in this series and every one is great
I don’t often read this category (easy/light reading) by male authors, but since quite a number of my friends and people I knew were reading the Rosie Project at the time I purchased it and loved it. I gave that five stars. This is the third in the series, I somehow missed out on the second and grabbed this in the supermarket a couple of weeks ago. It isn’t quite as fresh and surprising as the first in the series, but still highly amusing and lovable. Had me chuckling to myself out loud from time to time and certainly no disappointment to lovers of Don Tillman. I did not suffer for having missed out the book in between, The Rosie Effect,Gillian Dance and will be looking out for it in the near future to fill in the gaps. Definitely a pleasurable and worthwhile read, stick with it to the end and you will understand what autism really is about, much broader than the stereotypes most people have in mind, and speaking as one on the spectrum, healthy to have a laugh at ourselves as well. Gillian Dance
While enjoyable, not nearly as good as the Rosie project.
Get follow up to the Rosie Effect
Terrific ending to this series. I loved how Don and Rosie collaborated about Problems with Hudson. They shared the responsibilities. I will miss Don. He is a great character! Hudson was a great kid.
There are two books that preceded this one. Read them first. The development of all the characters over time is wonderful
Wonderful last book in the series. Love the characters and it is a great book series for beach or travel.
Authentic, heart-warming, authentic
The main character takes everything literally, just like his character should with autistic bent.
Great culmination to the Rosie sequel. Takes the characters to a new standard.
Love all three books in the series!
Although not as good as his original “The Rosie Project “, still a very good book and a great revisit with the characters.
Not as good as the first two in the series.
I love all these Rosie books, The Rosie Project, The Rosie Effect, and now this one. The first one will always be my favorite, but once you have Don Tillman’s voice in your head, you only want more, more. He is at it again, trying to help his son who may or may not be on the spectrum, trying to help his friend, trying to help his wife, trying to help himself. As usual, his systematic method leads to trouble yet ultimately solutions. One more incredibly enjoyable book about this delightful character and I hope and wish it is not the last.
This book follows the son of this interesting pair. The first book was quite wonderful. I have not read the second one. This third of the trilogy did not quite hit the high notes that the first did. It seems to drag a bit and the characters are not as well drawn out.
Everyone should read the entire Rosie Project series! Simsion has created well rounded characters and takes them through life with wit and heart. I eagerly awaited each installment (this is 3 of 3). Highly recommend.
As with the other two books in the “Rosie” series, this is a funny, poignant, realistic portrayal of an autistic parent who is doing his best to stay connected to his wife and raise a son who is very much his father’s son.
i loved this book
