The international bestselling romantic comedy “bursting with warmth, emotional depth, and…humor,” (Entertainment Weekly) featuring the oddly charming, socially challenged genetics professor, Don, as he seeks true love. The art of love is never a science: Meet Don Tillman, a brilliant yet socially inept professor of genetics, who’s decided it’s time he found a wife. In the orderly, evidence-based … orderly, evidence-based manner with which Don approaches all things, he designs the Wife Project to find his perfect partner: a sixteen-page, scientifically valid survey to filter out the drinkers, the smokers, the late arrivers.
Rosie Jarman possesses all these qualities. Don easily disqualifies her as a candidate for The Wife Project (even if she is “quite intelligent for a barmaid”). But Don is intrigued by Rosie’s own quest to identify her biological father. When an unlikely relationship develops as they collaborate on The Father Project, Don is forced to confront the spontaneous whirlwind that is Rosie―and the realization that, despite your best scientific efforts, you don’t find love, it finds you.
Arrestingly endearing and entirely unconventional, Graeme Simsion’s distinctive debut “navigates the choppy waters of adult relationships, both romantic and platonic, with a fresh take (USA TODAY). “Filled with humor and plenty of heart, The Rosie Project is a delightful reminder that all of us, no matter how we’re wired, just want to fit in” (Chicago Tribune).

A narrator who has Asberger’s Syndrome…the ultimate unreliable narrator. I loved this book!
I was thrilled to receive this book from an author friend. Trish Heald recently published her novel “Sassafras” and hosted a Facebook launch party to promote the book’s release. I attended, virtually of course, and participated in her games throughout the evening. I actually won a giveaway contest! I was shocked, because I never win anything. My …
If you like Sheldon on the Big Bang Theory, you’ll like this book. Interesting clash of characters and well written.
This book was just amazing! I love Don Tillman. His character was so “real”! I felt real emotions from him, and even though he would not have liked it, there were times I just wanted to hug him. I highly recommend this book and have told friend to read it. L
Graeme Simston created very engaging, quirky characters, and I love a happy ending.
The Rosie Project was so enjoyable, I’ve got the next two books on reserve at my local library!
Rosie and Don, the unlikeliest pair, are meant to be AND the author does a brilliant job of letting us climb inside the complex personality and thought process of Don. While it is not said, he is more than likely an undiagnosed Asperger’s candidate who has brilliantly figured out how to navigate the world, and while not successful all the time, in …
Wonderfully written. Loved it.
This is the funniest book I’ve read; it made me laugh out loud! Considering the heavy duty subject of Asperger’s syndrome it is a real feat treating the topic with both respect and whimsy. Certainly gives the reader a different perspective on this topic. Can’t wait to continue the “series”.
Oh my gosh — I can’t remember the last time I laughed so hard reading a book! (Technically I listed to the audio book, but it’s the same thing.) I just loved everything about this book — the unique characters, the sweet ending, Dave the Fat Baseball Fan. I borrowed this from the library, but I’m going to have to buy my own copy (and was THRILLED …
Fun read, and a refreshing, different POV for the romance.
A very entertaining book from beginning to end!
I re-read this in preparation for the new and final book in the series and found it as enjoyable as the first time. I forgot how funny Don Tilman was, from the very first scene where he allots 94 minutes to clean his bathroom and is perturbed when his schedule is thrown off and when he delivers an adult lecture only to have twelve-year-olds crying …
Unique story from a different dating perspective!
While I didn’t enjoy the language or the cavalier portrayal of sex, the story was unique and funny. I read this for a book club
This one was really funny, so I read the second one. I didn’t like the second one as well as the first, but I was curious to find out how their life all turned out.
I look forward to all the “Project “ books and have not been disappointed yet. Very interesting storyline and storytelling. So happy to have stumbled upon this series. Have recommended several times.
Loved it, read it twice. Laughed out loud.
Hilarious!
Charming and fun to see romance from a different point of view.
A book about a man with Asbergers who wants to find a partner. Very sweet. Think Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory.
