The international bestselling romantic comedy “bursting with warmth, emotional depth, and…humor,” (Entertainment Weekly) featuring the oddly charming, socially challenged genetics professor, Don, as he seeks true love. The art of love is never a science: Meet Don Tillman, a brilliant yet socially inept professor of genetics, who’s decided it’s time he found a wife. In the orderly, evidence-based … orderly, evidence-based manner with which Don approaches all things, he designs the Wife Project to find his perfect partner: a sixteen-page, scientifically valid survey to filter out the drinkers, the smokers, the late arrivers.
Rosie Jarman possesses all these qualities. Don easily disqualifies her as a candidate for The Wife Project (even if she is “quite intelligent for a barmaid”). But Don is intrigued by Rosie’s own quest to identify her biological father. When an unlikely relationship develops as they collaborate on The Father Project, Don is forced to confront the spontaneous whirlwind that is Rosie―and the realization that, despite your best scientific efforts, you don’t find love, it finds you.
Arrestingly endearing and entirely unconventional, Graeme Simsion’s distinctive debut “navigates the choppy waters of adult relationships, both romantic and platonic, with a fresh take (USA TODAY). “Filled with humor and plenty of heart, The Rosie Project is a delightful reminder that all of us, no matter how we’re wired, just want to fit in” (Chicago Tribune).

This is not a typical book in the romance genre, but I consider it an excellent example of the ‘opposites attract’ trope. The author creates such great characters, with particular understanding of an individual on the autism spectrum. There is humor, charm, warmth, surprise, and some of the best examples our imperfect humanity has to offer.
Don’t get discouraged. It starts off slow but winds up great. This was such a differnt storyline for me. I read the following sequels, The Rosie Result and the Rosie Effect. I liked them all.
This was different in the best possible way. The main character is interesting and compelling and I was sucked in!
I have recommended this book to a number of friends. It was refreshingly different and a wonderful read. I have read the sequels also.
A professor with Asperger’s (though he doesn’t know it) tries to find the perfect wife, but instead meets Rosie. While realizing she is totally unsuitable for him based on his criteria, he can’t understand why he has so much fun with her. As the book progresses, he begins to understand more about himself, about the other people in his life and …
This book was so so good! It was such an easy read that had just enough drama that it keeps you engaged throughout the entire book. It does take awhile to get into it, but once you get started, it is very hard to stop reading it! There’s a second and third book that I will be reading, once I can get them checked out of Libby!
Think of an Australian Sheldon from Big Bang. Very funny! Immediately got the next book in the series & am looking forward to #3. Definitely recommend
I enjoyed the point of view in which the book is written. It was a great read , I completely loved it
It took me a while to get into this book. It had a slow start, but once the narrator established his thoughts and personality, I figured it could be titled Sheldon Cooper Test Drives a Romance. I then caught on that the author was portraying a highly intelligent scientist with Aspergers who was emotionally challenged. What I found interesting is …
A very entertaining read!
The Rosie Project is Don Tillman’s story he’s a genetics professor who may or may not be on the spectrum, he’s pushing 40 and never had a second date. Don Tillman is looking for a wife but gets interrupted by a father’s project. Mayhem and mischief is the main ingredient in this story.
Fantastic and fun read!
This book was a hoot.
One of the best books I’ve read in a long time. Totally endearing characters. Highly recommend.

Fun to read.
This is by far, the funniest & fun books I’ve read. It is truly a laugh-out-loud book. I’ve recommended it to many people. While social distancing is a major issue right now, and people are needing something to entertain themselves, this is definitely a book to read! Loved it!
This book is engaging and humorous. I love the main character and his logical mind. The plot hooked in, but not so much as Dan. He has a great voice that pulls you in.
