The international bestselling romantic comedy “bursting with warmth, emotional depth, and…humor,” (Entertainment Weekly) featuring the oddly charming, socially challenged genetics professor, Don, as he seeks true love. The art of love is never a science: Meet Don Tillman, a brilliant yet socially inept professor of genetics, who’s decided it’s time he found a wife. In the orderly, evidence-based … orderly, evidence-based manner with which Don approaches all things, he designs the Wife Project to find his perfect partner: a sixteen-page, scientifically valid survey to filter out the drinkers, the smokers, the late arrivers.
Rosie Jarman possesses all these qualities. Don easily disqualifies her as a candidate for The Wife Project (even if she is “quite intelligent for a barmaid”). But Don is intrigued by Rosie’s own quest to identify her biological father. When an unlikely relationship develops as they collaborate on The Father Project, Don is forced to confront the spontaneous whirlwind that is Rosie―and the realization that, despite your best scientific efforts, you don’t find love, it finds you.
Arrestingly endearing and entirely unconventional, Graeme Simsion’s distinctive debut “navigates the choppy waters of adult relationships, both romantic and platonic, with a fresh take (USA TODAY). “Filled with humor and plenty of heart, The Rosie Project is a delightful reminder that all of us, no matter how we’re wired, just want to fit in” (Chicago Tribune).

Read this book awhile ago, but it’s stuck with me! Loved the unique POV, the quirkiness of this book, and the sweet romance, subtle and slow build but also central- kinda perfect. Simply, yet very well written, I just loved to let the story unfold
A very engaging and well written book.
The book’s main protagonist has Asperger’s syndrome; the whole book focuses on his relationships and the daily conduct of his life – especially on the emotional side.
The book is okay; overall, I enjoyed reading it, and the plot is interesting and well written. Still, the misconception about Asperger’s syndrome bothered me. In my opinion, the …
One of my favorite books of all time.
This is one of my favorite books of all time. I just love the humor in this story (to the point where I would burst out laughing) and how the story unfolded. I even started to get emotional when I knew I was really close to the end of the book because I didn’t want it to end. Whenever someone asks me ‘what’s a good book I should read?’ Hands down, …
I really enjoyed this book. I rarely laugh out loud while reading, but I did in reading this one. Besides, it fundamentally being an endearing love story, it provided for an amusing commentary on social norms and what it takes to ‘fit in’. The narrator is a lovable character. His search for a wife and what he thinks he wants in a life partner, …
Loved.
Most of us know folks who are autistic. THE ROSIE PROJECT is written from an unusual view point. Telling more may reveal too much. Take my word for it, this is a wonderful, captivating read, and I read (and write) a lot. It is entertaining and enlightening. Treat yourself.
laugh out loud funny!
If you like quirky characters and romance novels, you will enjoy this. It made me laugh at loud!
This book is funny as well as educational for anyone who has a friend who might be bordering on the Asperger’s scale. It gave me insight on this personality trait in a sweet and amazing way.
