With The Rosie Project, “Graeme Simsion achieved the impossible and created an entirely new kind of romantic hero,” Jojo Moyes, author of Me Before You said. Now Don Tillman returns in the hilarious and charming sequel to the international sensation. Get ready to fall in love all over again. Don sets about learning the protocols of becoming a father, but his unusual research style gets him into … research style gets him into trouble with the law. Fortunately his best friend Gene is on hand to offer advice: he’s left Claudia and moved in with Don and Rosie.
Picking up where The Rosie Project left off, The Rosie Effect is a fun, hilarious, and poignant read. “Don Tillman helps us believe in possibility, makes us proud to be human beings, and the bonus is this: he keeps us laughing like hell” (Matthew Quick, author of The Silver Linings Playbook).more
I absolutely loved everything about the first book in this series but as has become the expected in books and movies both, the sequel just didn’t live up to the expectations the first set. It’s still a good book. It’s entertaining and it has all the characters I loved in book 1. This one just couldn’t keep my attention and when it did, instead of …
I felt like I struggled with the characters a little bit in book two, but did not in book one. It could be that I was feeling the disconnect between Rosie and Don, or it could be something else entirely. I am happy with how it came to a close in book two, I was worried through the middle part of the book. Over all I am enjoying this series and …
One of the best books I’ve read recently. Great characters; their interactions very realistic.
I had too high of expectations for this book. I loved the first one so I had high hopes but they were let down. This book wasn’t very good. It was hard to stay connected and into this book. Until.. the last 100 or so pages. It then got a lot better but it took awhile for it to get good!
Wonderful follow-up book to the Rosie Project!
I could not stop reading this! Imagine Bridget Jones meets Doc Martin and you’ll have a good idea of what you’re going to get with this charming story. The fumbling and social awkwardness of the main character (Don Tillman) is both painful and hilarious to watch unfold. Some parts were a little predictable, but then some new, unexpected problem …
Loved the first book, read it twice. Unfortunately this was not as good
Great fun. Characters I’d want to know in real life.
Second in the trilogy, I re-read this before starting The Rosie Result. This book moves to New York City, and the trouble Don Tilman gets himself into is, as always, unpredictable, bizarre and hilarious, like the scene where he observes children on a playground as background research and gets arrested for being creepy. His marriage to Rosie is in …
This book was a struggle for me. Not only did I start it years ago and have to come back to it, I never wanted to continue it once I put it down. As someone with Asperger’s, I completely understand what was going on, however it wasn’t what I wanted in a book about previously favorite characters. I suppose it mimics real life in that it’s not …
Love this sequel.
The magic from “The Rosie project” is not there.
good, but not as good as the first book
Unusual novel and very well written. You will fall in love with the characters.
