Griffin Rockwell has returned to Rocky Peak Lodge with a secret. Not even his family knows why he left his beloved sport of motocross at the top of his game. Locals still consider him a hero, but these days the best he can do is play bodyguard to the fascinating new employee at his brother’s pub. As for their intense attraction, he can handle that. Right? Serena Riggs has her own secret. She’s on … secret. She’s on a mission to investigate the disappearance of her father, last seen in the small Cascades town years ago. Someone wants her to stop—but she’s not one to back down, especially with a sinfully sexy “bodyguard” by her side. When another threat surfaces, the only place she feels safe is in Griffin’s arms…and in his bed.
As the couple falls deeper by the day, danger looms, and they’ll soon discover the biggest secret of all—their families’ pasts entwine them more closely than they ever imagined.

Jennifer Bernard!!! You are AMAZING!!!
I was anticipating book 2 in The Rockwell Legacy and…WOW!!!
Griffin Rockwell retired suddenly from motocross with a secret. Artist, Serena Riggs has moved to town to figure out what happened to her dad, and starts getting threats.
I was looking forward to these two getting together! I love how they start off as “not so friendly” and then how they come to be. The twists in this story are wonderful! The description of the characters, the slight bit of humor, the level of sexual heat, the continued story line of the series and the way the characters mesh is fantastic!
Read this series and you will know why Jennifer Bernard is one of my FAVORITES! Can’t wait for book 3!!! Very well done, Jennifer!!! LOVED THIS!!! <3
Griffin Rockwell has shocked his family & the sports world. He’s on top of the motocross world & suddenly retires. What no one knows is that he has a secret & that secret is why he’s retiring. He doesn’t want anyone to know. He’s come home to help get the family business updated & back on track. He didn’t expect to find someone he’s attracted to right off the bat.
Serena Riggs has taken a job at the Last Chance Pub to try to snoop. She needs a reason to be in town while she’s searching for clues about her father. He disappeared when she was little & she’s trying to find him. She’s escaped a bad situation in San Francisco & thinks it’s followed her when she begins to get threatening notes. Griffin becomes her bodyguard & the heat starts immediately.
Jennifer Bernard has done it again! Griffin & Serena make an explosive couple. From the minute they meet, the passion is apparent & the scenes are hot & steamy. I felt that she did an excellent job with the side story regarding young men being abused by their coach over the years & the strength it took to come forward. Each book in the series can be read as a stand alone however they are about the same family & continue on the same story line. I wasn’t able to put this one down!
I loved the first book in this series and I will admit that The Rogue, the second book about the Rockwell family, is even better. (Please don’t tell Kai, from The Rebel; I really loved his story, too!) Griffin Rockwell’s story grabbed my heart right from the start. He comes across as brash and daring, when he really is broken and hurting from not only life today, but his childhood, too. Such a deep, deep character; it was so easy to fall in love with him.
Except for Serena, Griff’s brother Jake’s bartender. Griff and Serena met at the end of The Rebel and trust me, it was a definite ‘meet-let the sparks fly’, rather than a ‘meet-cute’. Let’s say they sizzled from the start, with much attitude about the ‘heat’ never happening between them. (Yeah, that worked out for them!) Both Griffin and Serena have so much going on in their lives, the least of which is Serena has a stalker. She is also looking for her many-years-missing father and it seems that someone may not want that to surface. Griffin has just retired from motocross racing and is keeping his own secrets from his family and the world.
The Blackwells are a hoot. Griff’s brothers and sisters are nosey and noisy, funny and loving, and the biggest pains in his behind…but their bond is unshakeable and the author truly makes that come through in the story. Loved the family dynamics, loved the underlying intrigue, and ROFL with the family! Serena and Griff are SO good together, even when they try so hard to not be.
Loved The Rogue, it is a standalone story, but really loved the first in this new series, too. I just finished reading Griff’s and Serena’s story and can’t wait for the next book…a no-pressure note to the author, but could you hurry, please?
