A Bet…
Yes, I made a bet with my best friend—my now ex-best friend. It had been a stupid, heat of the moment kind of thing. I’d just wanted to get her out of my system and move one. Instead I’ve lived to regret it ever since. I lost the girl I loved, a girl that possessed my very soul. Now I can’t even get close to Natalie. She thinks … possessed my very soul. Now I can’t even get close to Natalie. She thinks all she ever meant to me was just the means to the end of a stupid, stupid game.
…For a Bet!
In the span of one night I’d gone from thinking I had a future with the man I loved to SHATTERED at his feet. I can’t get over it. The pain is too strong, too destructive as it festers more and more inside of me. And then my friend came up with the perfect revenge for both our broken hearts.
“I bet you…”
Those three little words gave me a reason to ball my pain up and throw it back in Devlin Cutter’s face. I would let him back in, let him think he had a chance with me once again. And then I would walk away, leaving him broken and bleeding at my feet as he once had left me.
This time he would be the one SHATTERED.

The Rocker Who Shatters Me was the ninth book in the Rocker series by Terri Anne Browning. It focused on Devlin, the drummer for OtherWorld, and Natalie, the sister to two Demon’s Wings members.
The timeline of The Rocker Who Shatters Me coincided with the OtherWorld and Demon’s Wings tour from the previous book, The Rocker Who Cherished Me. Although many of the events were familiar, the perspective was told from both Natalie and Devlin; therefore, forming a new story.
I enjoyed the characters and the storyline. I love how Browning incorporated all of the band members and continued to develop past stories that we loved. The bands were family with a strong bond that included loyalty, rivalry, protectiveness, humor, anger and fun. The only drawback was the many editing errors.
All in all, it was a fairly quick, fun and entertaining read. Browning continued to develop future stories and next up we finally get Liam and Gabriella in The Rocker Who Hates Me.
Another great HOT book in this series I have really come to love and enjoy! This one is no different. A crazy bet turned relationships up and down! I really liked Nat and Devlin together and it was a great story! Being stubborn, you need to be sometimes, but once you find that special love, don’t stop fighting for it.
***SLIGHTLY SPOILER-ISH***
This book is a little hard for me to rate but it is definitely worthy of four stars!
The biggest problem I have with it is that not a lot of new things happen… Making it kind of lose that exciting, wow-ness, can’t-put-it-down factor. It takes place during the same timeframe as The Rocker Who Cherishes Me, so you experience many of the same events as what happened in that book… Only you get a few more detailed descriptions of events that happened looking through Natalie & Devlin’s eyes. I needed a little more new.
That aside… I, of course, am incredibly happy for both Natalie and Devlin! They are so perfect together and I LOVE how much Harris adores Nat and vice versa. The love that shines through Dev’s eyes for Nat is beautiful and so pure. That bet between him and Zander was stupid and it really did suck for all when it was revealed but I found it easy to forgive for some reason, probably because of Devlin’s actions around Natalie.
I am sort of annoyed with the trend of yet ANOTHER rocker character pregnant and it’s not Harper. Damn, can she EVER catch a break?! The pregnancy news is wonderful for the actual couple but I feel that it’s continually rubbed in Harper’s face, especially because we had to hear the same things that happened to her and Shane in The Rocker Who Cherishes Me- The signs outside of the club ragging on her, the torn up tour bus and injured dog, the media scorning… *sigh* They are my favorite couple and I just want them to find peace and if they truly can’t conceive, I just want to stop hearing about how hurt she is and the painful looks that play out across her face when all of her girlfriends announce their pregnancies.
Then there’s the whole Lucy and Harris friendship. I think it’s so cute but then I go and think… Woah! Lucy is only 11 and Harris is 16. She may be developing early but dude… He’s a sophomore in high school. It just gives me a weird vibe. Fast forward seven years and I wouldn’t think twice about the age difference but 11… Eeep!
Back to Natalie and Devlin… Super excited they got their HEA! They deserve the level of happiness they are now at!!
Side Note: I’m not judging this book whatsoever on the excerpt it gives for The Rocker Who Hates Me but I’d like to say… I’m not on board with Emmie’s way of thinking just yet. Even though heroic, it’ll take more to convince me that Liam and Gabriella belong together. So very hard to keep her nastiness in the past, for me as a reader.
