The Demon…
I’ve been fighting my own demons for most of my life. The alcohol seems to numb the pain, but it never makes the nightmares go away. All I want in life is a little peace. When I met my angel it felt like I found it, but there is so much standing between us. Why does she have to be so young…?
The Demon’s Angel…
Meeting Drake was … Demon’s Angel…
Meeting Drake was the best thing to ever happen to me. I found my friend, my soul mate. But he lets my age stand between us. There is something that haunts him, and I selfishly want to be the one that helps him conquer his ghosts. If he would just let me in, let me closer, I think I could help him…

I was excited to read this. But I just felt like a lot of the story threads were wrapped up too quickly with next to no grovelling whatsoever. From anyone. And I just wasn’t all that cool with that. But it wasn’t bad. I just keep hoping for more form every book and I keep not getting it.

The Rocker Who Needs Me was the third book in the Rocker series by Terri Anne Browning.
Drake Stevenson was a guitarist in the insanely famous rock band Demon’s Wings. We knew he had major demons which caused him to drink himself into a stupor every night just to avoid the nightmares. Browning unveiled his demons in the Rocker Who Needs Me while weaving a long tale of heartbreak and suffering. And it was heartbreaking at times.
Lana Daniels was primarily raised by her older sister, Layla (book two, the Rocker That Savors Me.) She was only seventeen when we met her but the chemistry with Drake, thirty one, was off the charts that they developed a friendship – nothing sexual under age, just a friendship.
The Rocker Who Needs Me was just that – a story of need. Drake’s demons were deep seeded and not something that would disappear quickly, if at all. Lana was his breath, but she couldn’t be his cure. And I was with them through it all. Browning took us through their initial meeting and through Lana’s college years. There were times I needed a little more depth and detail, and I think for a future, Lana would have needed to be involved a little differently during some of the recovery, especially the nightmares. No spoilers, so no further elaboration, but it was a long healing process filled with heartbreak, sadness and despair but also with a touch of hope, determination and love.
I love all the rockers and their women and The Rocker Who Needs Me was no exception. Sean, Drakes’ younger brother and fellow band mate, also has demons to conquer which we’ll finally get to see the full unveiled story up next in The Rocker That Loves Me.
I cannot begin to tell you how much I loved this story. This series just gets better and better! Loved Drake and Lane together. Drake’s story just got to your heart. Absolutely loved it! Laughed at one scene so much and yet how this book was written, it blew me away yet again. Had tears in my eyes when reading some scenes but totally worth it. This series is really worth the read and you just can’t get enough 🙂 that’s how good it is!
***SPOILERS***
The most drama of the series by far!
Man, does Drake have problems, big time. The abuse (not just his own), the alcohol, the parental history, Emmie’s history… Poor, Drake.
I am incredibly happy with his desire to rehabilitate himself but so disappointed with his relapse. He MUST. AVOID. TEMPTATION. AT. ALL. COST. Really, there was no reason for the disgusting situation he found himself in at the hotel…
And don’t get me started on Gabriella. That witch! There is no excuse for her and YOU, Drake, to end up in any compromising positions… no matter what outside factors there were. Gabriella should be invited NO WHERE. Period.
Lana and Drake’s relationship never comes across as creepy to me- Even though the big age difference between the two could totally make it lean that way. Lana, although young, is pretty mature for her age.
I do not blame Lana whatsoever for choosing NYU over UCLA. It was good for her and was something she needed to do for herself. It was so not a selfish thing. And I’m super pleased she didn’t move back at the end. It was important for them to be somewhat independent from Em and family.
Gods, I felt so much for Lana towards the end of the book. Witnessing that, experiencing another something… I have to admit I was a little peeved at how easily she doled out the forgiveness though. Maybe I was in witch-mode when I read this but Drake was definitely on my crap list longer than he was on Lana’s.
The repeating of events (when told from Lana’s and then Drake’s POVs) got to be redundant at times. I wasn’t a big fan of the father story line but I really liked Lana’s roommates. Linc, Harper and Dallas all had distinctive personalities and were fun to get-to-know.
Looking forward to reading book four, The Rocker Who Loves Me (Shane’s book).
