The first time that Dr. Andy Kumar had seen Cadell Glynn—all six feet, four inches of him, tribal tattoos winding around his arms, fingertips deeply callused from years of pressing steel guitar strings, dressed in leather pants and a tee shirt ripped at the neck that let the tattoos on his muscular shoulders peek through, blue-tipped black hair spiraling in curls and swaying near his shoulders, … shoulders, and fear and helplessness filling his dark eyes at the sight of his sick child hooked up to two different IVs and crying—Andy had known that he was going to be trouble.
Mr. Glynn had interrogated Andy and the other surgeons, asking why, and when, and how, and would it hurt Emily too much.
He had calmed down some after that first week. Some.
After a few weeks, when Emily had stabilized, Mr. Glynn had backed off from the third degree, but he had begun to mention that there were other things in life outside the hospital. Restaurants. Dancing. Concerts. For months.
Andy wished that the hot rock star daddy would quit asking her out.

This another hit by Blair Babylon. It’s filled with drama and angst and steamy romance. I enjoy how she develops the characters and their relationships with each other, how they deal with difficult situations, fighting to do what’s right…Once I started reading I didn’t want to put the books down. A great read for the beach or by a lake. Will read again I’m sure.
Another awesome book by Blair! I love how she can explain the minds of her characters and what they go through and how they develop. Who would have guessed Cadell was such a loving, caring and giving man. From party animal to a life of father and what is needed in order to not only keep his child but make sure she has the best possible care. This book is hot and will make you want to tear through the pages to read as fast as you can.
This book seriously pulled at my heartstrings. The author’s previous books tend to take the reader on a wild emotional roller coaster ride of extreme highs and lows, with a dash of mystery, suspense and intrigue thrown in to always keep the reader lusting for more. This book, however, started on a more melancholy note centering around a child’s sickness and the melancholy theme continued throughout approximately 90% of the book. The plot was a slow, sweet ride that took the reader from the occasional tear to cheering out loud. While normally I prefer plots that give off an adrenaline junky high at the conclusion of the book, I definitely could not put this book down. I desperately needed to know what happens to Emily. Does Cadell achieve his dream to have a family of his own? Will Andy stand up for herself to her family and finally start making her own decisions about her life based on her own heart’s true desires?
This book concludes the story of the rock band Killer Valentine in a way that leaves my curiosity appeased and my heart satisfied. Blair Babylon has done it again! I am already looking forward to seeing where her future writing endeavors take us! Read the entire series, you will not be disappointed!
For those who have followed this series you have already met Cadell. He is the hard-core guitar player in the band Killer Valentine. Cadell is not just a rocker he is a Julian rocker. In a previous book, it gave a small insight into the phone call Cadell received about a baby girl, a junky mom and a paternity test.
Emily is the apple of her daddy’ eye but she is in a deep fight for her little two year old life.
The doctor caring for her is Dr. Andy aka Andel Kumar.
She is of India descent and things in her life have already been taken care of her by her family. But does she still want that?
Andy has come to really like Cadell, she thinks he is a fantastic father.
He would be the perfect match for his daughter however, his life of drugs have interfered. Can Dr. Andy save Cadell and Emily?
Can they save her?
This was one truly heartbreaking, heart touching and eye opening story. It truly could affect anyone out there in life fighting demons of the past.
It also has warmth, love, laughter, and hotness.
The book is well-written, very in-depth it is truly a fantastic story. I loved Cadell before and now even more.
And I have to say I think it is my favorite of all the books in this series.
I wrote this review in June 2016.
I’m finding it hard to describe how much I loved this book.
Blair Babylon has been on my list of favorite authors since I read her first series – Billionaires in Disguise: Rae – and her writing never disappoints me. While The Rock Star’s Secret Baby is set in the Killer Valentine world of Rock Stars in Disguise (RSID) it can totally be read as a standalone. (You really should read the entire series though as it is fantastic.) I found the Author’s Note at the beginning of the book to be very touching and informative; I now know a little more about an author I love.
Dr. Andal (Andy) Kumar is the wonderful and compassionate surgeon assigned to care for Cadell Glynn’s daughter, Emily – the daughter that none of his friends know about. Caudell didn’t know that Emily existed until a few months ago and now he’d do anything to make his daughter well again.
Dr. Andy feels an attraction to Cadell that she can’t seem to help. She is touched by the lengths he goes to in order to provide care for Emily. Cadell has serious demons from his past that he must constantly fight so that he doesn’t let Emily down.
My emotions were all over the place while I read this book. In a few places I thought I’d die laughing (conditioner is my new favorite word but I can’t say any more; you have to read the book). At other times the tears flowed freely along with more than a few sobs. Books that touch my emotions deeply are the best in my opinion and this one did that in spades.
If you’ve read the other RSID books you will love revisiting the rest of the group in the final chapter of this story. Even though this concludes the RSID series I’m betting that somewhere along the way Blair Babylon will find a way to give us another glimpse at these fantastic characters.
I purchased a copy of this book but I also received an advanced copy from the author.
The Rock Star’s Secret Baby is an astoundingly breathtaking and magnificently exquisite journey that will ever so gently open your heart and allow the purest and truest form of love to reach in and transform every part. This is a love that will change a life just by its mere presence and the surprising peace that it brings. Love not only accepts with open and honest arms, but it also center us and presents a life of simplicity and overwhelming peace. Our hearts cannot live in turmoil and anxiety, so why would be choose to complicate our life and force ourselves to live in such pain? Instead, walk towards a future that will make your soul sing with its promise of unbridled joy and sigh with its temptation of perfect peace.
Andy is living the life that has been carefully designed for her. She knows her place, and she does all she can to stay without her restrictive, allotted boundaries. The desires of her heart are inconsequential and do not matter in comparison to the future that has already been mapped out. No matter how much she yearns for more, she quickly pulls her disobedient heart back into its gilded cage. Cadell has none only chaos and demands his entire life. He knows what he must do, and yet his very soul is screaming out for something so very different. The chains that hold his captive are not as confining as they used to be, but can he figure out how to break them completely before more than his own future goes up in flames? Can Andy follow the pleading cries of her own heart and stop her very soul from dying before she has had a chance to spread her wings, or will she walk away from the only source of living water that her dehydrated soul needs only to please those she seeks approval from?
If I thought that the stories of the other members of the band Killer Valentine were utterly mesmerizing and incredibly powerful, then Babylon definitely saved the best for last with Cadell. She has painted a masterpiece so expansive and yet stunningly detailed that to take it all in at one sitting is nearly impossible. The themes that wave themselves throughout this wonderful journey will seep into your heart until you feel the full weight of them upon your very soul. The truth and the power in the words that cover these pages will pierce every facet of your life until you find the chains that hold you captive. Andy and Cadell are a perfect and beautiful balance to the other. They not only understand the implication of their past, but they see the limitless potential of their future. The only question that remains is if they are willing to step out on faith and take hold of what they desire above all else.
Blair Babylon continues to leave me utterly breatheless and completely captivated by the quite brilliance of her mind and the boundless depths of her heart. Her stories never fail to show me something new about myself, and quietly remind me that I am worth something, We are all broken and flawed in some way and yet it is those pieces that make us who we are. Regardless of what we think, we are never unredeemable or too far gone as long as we can be touched by love and hold onto hope.
A Review of The Rock Star’s Secret Baby (Rock Stars in Disguise: Cadell) (Friends With Benefits – Billionaires in Disguise) by Blair Babylon
Cultural differences – 5+++++ stars
We finally get Cadell’s story and it was well worth the wait. It took me a bit to determine that this story actually takes place earlier in the storyline of Killer Valentine, so we’ve seen parts of his story in Georgie and Xan’s. Cadell found out that he had a very sick young daughter, who had been left alone when her mother passed away.
When we meet Dr. Andy Kumar, she is taking care of Emily in the Hospital after her nannie left her there, since Cadell is out of the country with the band. As soon as the plane lands, he heads out to the hospital, without telling anyone where he is going or why. Xan tells him they have the studio booked and he needs to be there, but Cadell just leaves.
In the short time that Cadell has had custody of his daughter, he hasn’t told anyone in Killer Valentine about her at all. Everyone knows that something is going on with him and they are all afraid that he is back on drugs. But, for the last eight months, he has done everything he can to get clean and stay clean for his baby.
This is a story about much more than a member of Killer Valentine and the ride that comes with being a rock star. He has formed a tight bond with his daughter’s doctor and is trying to understand her culture, which does not allow her to even have coffee with him. There are a lot of twists and turns with this story and you will definitely need your tissues a couple of times. I highly recommend that you pick up this story, especially if you have read any of the other books with Georgie, Xan and Killer Valentine.

Though I am still not sure how to pronounce Cadell (as it Cay-dull or cah-dell or maybe cay-dell?) reading about him and his life was great.
I loved his (mostly) quiet reserved nature that he seems to have compared to his other band mates. It is sad though that he does not think he can tell them about his daughter or Dr. Andy but I guess he has to have some mystery about himself when he is not playing his guitar.
I think it is great that he was able to be friends with someone first before dating them even if their relationship started off ‘bad’. Not that their friendship was bad, just bad circumstances for their meeting. Their whirlwind romance seems crazy but it is perfect when it comes down to what Andy and Cadell both need in their lives.
Though the book takes place because of Cadell finding out he has a kid and needing to take care of her, it does not interrupt the romance of the book and ties together well in the story as a whole.
I love that Blair does so much research before her books. Gives us a bit of a teaching lesson as well as the enjoyment of the book. I am so glad she waited to get this book out. This book is amazing and she definitely finished this series with a bang.
I hate that this is the last in the KV series. It has been my favorite so far. This was an excellent story, made my heart hurt in places but ended well. I may he to re-read these at a later date.
Well this book blew me away. Tryps story was an emotional rollercoaster full of heartbreak & though Cadell’ s story is a lot softer with grungy parts, regarding his drug addiction etc, it’s as emotionally charged as Tryps but in a much softer, sweeter way!!
I adored the relationship between Andy & Cadell. How she treated his child was beautiful. Seeing her life & upbringing through her eyes was a revelation. The journey she took throughout this book was inspirational, full of doubt but so courageous. Cadell was a rock for both his baby girl & Andy. He really showed his inner steel to be a better man for them both & eventually for himself too.
I absolutely loved this final instalment in the ‘Rock Stars in Disguise’ series. (The epilogue is stellar) I think it is one of Blair’s best pieces to date & I can’t recommend it enough!!!
