The Road to Solace is a good romantic suspenseful read. I liked that Sage was a strong female character, and her kids were adorable. Friar Adam has paid for his mistakes, but he’s having a hard time just being himself. The chemistry between these two was there from the moment their eyes met. This is a new author for me, and I liked her writing style, so I will be reading more from her.
The Road to Solace started out kind of heavy but turned into such a sweet, straightforward, lovely read. Widowed Sage and ex-con Adam have this beautiful slow burn going as they navigate getting her ranch back on track. Add in some suspense as someone starts sabotaging the ranch and terrorizing the family. There are a few suspects, but no one is real obvious. A relationship starts blooming and it was so sweet. They were adults and handled things like adults. The normal insecurities were there, but no games or miscommunication to raise the angst level.
Although Adam started out as a Friar, this is not a clean romance. There is heat in this, but it isn’t over done or gratuitous. The relationship between Adam and Sage developed over time and was sweet and sexy. They were both lost and broken but together they were able to heal. A really great read!
This was an okay read and while I liked the characters and the idea of the story it was just a bit slow going for me, don’t get me wrong it not a bad read and is perfect for a quiet afternoon I just wish the pace of the book was a bit faster

This was a great story. After getting out of prison, where he served a little over 5 years for taking a life, God led Adam to Sage at just the right time. Although he was no longer a friar sworn to celibacy, he did not expect Gods plans to be for him to fall in love with a widow and her two beautiful children. Although the small town was weary of the ex-con in town, Adam quickly earned the respect of others finding forgiveness, redemption, love, and family. Sage, struggling to stay afloat after her husband s death, a string of incidents targeting her and her ranch, and move on to a happy life after grieving, finds love in a wonderful man with a troubled past.

Being totally honest wasn’t sure how I was going to feel when first started this book. It sucked me in and actually read in one sitting. It tugs at your heart. A story of forgiveness and finding yourself and family, with twists and turns along the way

A heartwarming story, but too much, too fast. Love the ex-friar character.
