PLEASE BE ADVISED: Steam level – very spicy!

Danny and Phoebe were awesome.
Wicked intentions indeed! Phoebe is a lady through and through even if she must now work as a shop-girl. Yet things are going to get even more horrible for her and her mother. Danny is a pub owner and more but enjoys people not knowing everything. Phoebe and Danny met by pure chance and this meeting will bring great chances to both. Yes, we have a major challenge to overcome but that is what made this story so entertaining. These characters go back and forth and even when they are angry with each other they stick together that made for a very realistic feel to the tale. I loved this steamy piece and I highly recommend it. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Rags to Riches tale that applied to both the male and female characters . A Lady whose father put the family in financial crisis and then dies, meets a middle class man who has become rich with property and money. To avoid being married off to a Lord with no value, our Lady falls for the rough edged man, not knowing how rich he was. Lots of action both in and out of the bedroom. A fine tale indeed.
Wonderful, Entertaining & Romantic
I really enjoyed reading this book.
Phoebe & Danny’s characters were entertaining & dramatic.
A couple of twists & turns in the story that had me turning the pages until I just couldn’t keep my eyes open at 5 in the morning
Found the plot weak.
This book is a great read, I couldn’t put it down. The hero and heroine were level headed, did not jump to wild conclusions and did not act in a cavalier manner.
This is a compelling, intriguing adventure from the ton ballroom to working class. A strong, independent woman survives after being left penniless by a gambling father’s death.
Lady/Miss Phoebe Darlington is now working at Harrods Department Store after her father is found dead with a prostitute, drunk and broke. With no family to help the next best thing would be to find gainful employment.
A year of working and she is just barely making a living. Phoebe is exasperated with her mother, as she will not accept their situation. Flighty mom brings trouble to Phoebe at work in the form of Lord Cosgrove.
Lord Cosgrove wants to marry Phoebe for her money and land. Phoebe does not want to have anything to do with him. He is also trying to get into land development, housing.
Danny , Daniel Long, our hero, is a real estate mogul. He buys, build, and manages property. His family business started by his great-grandfather after win the pub in a card game.
On a rainy day Phoebe walks into Danny’s pub and the adventure begins. They chat while she is waiting for the rain to stop. Once she is back home, she runs I to the landlady who is upset, thanks to flighty mom, and repeats the house dukes. Add to this mom snuck Lord Cosgrove into the parlor, which is against the rules.
Now Phoebe has to look for a new place to live, sidetrack mom, avoid Cosgrove, and work. Danny to the rescue with a new place to live which helps with avoiding Cosgrove.
Danny finds out bad information about Cosgrove while getting information to help Phoebe. Phoebe helps Danny charm the Land Commission Board in hopes of wining the contract for Earl’s Court housing.
This is the basics of the story, however, if I give you more it will spoil all the fin, intrigue, and dangers these characters all go through. It is one will ride
Intense historical read with interesting characters. There are lots of twists and turns to the story that will keep you turning the page until the end. Good read.

I liked Phoebe and Danny and that they both started in different classes but because of circumstances beyond Phoebe’s control meet. I loved that Phoebe didn’t give up and was working even though things just seem to get worse. I liked that Danny knew he wanted her when he saw her and even though he wasn’t always is now a very wealthy man who can help her.

This is a great story! It’s sweet and steamy, with some drama, hard knocks and two men vying for a lady. The *hero* of the story is not some duke or earl or viscount. There are no secret aristocratic identities and no sudden inheritances or rich relatives dying to leave him a surprise fortune. Danny is from the lower-class. He is a smart young man raised on the streets who has made his own way very successfully. This is the man who steps in to help Lady Phoebe and her mother. I loved Danny and Phoebe and the way they understood each other. They were both looked down on by the ton, and that made them kindred spirits, not to mention their chemistry was HOT! It was refreshing to read a story that had unique characters and wasn’t a run of the mill knight-in-shining- armor-saves-damsel- in-distress story.

Book six in The May Flowers series a well written story that held my interest until the end. I enjoyed reading Danny Long and Lady Phoebe Darlington’s story. This series just gets better with each new book, I want to read the next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Lady Phoebes life has sunk low after her father lost everything and ended up dying in a prostitutes bed leaving her and her mother having to scrape to get by ands he has taken a job working in Harrods store just to pay rent on a shabby apartment and buy food. When she meets pub owner Danny she did not know that he owned real estate around London and was very wealthy due to his middle class upbringing but they were instantly attracted to each other. When she and her mother get evicted from their apartment it is Danny that offers them even better lodging with the request that she help him in getting the contract to build a new housing district for the Brotherhood. Loved this steamy romance and Phoebe and Danny were so perfect for each other.
This is a story of strength, success, and determination. This is the story of Lady Phoebe Darlington, a beautiful young lady left trying to take care of things after her father passed away leaving considerable debt. Phoebe meets Danny Long, a self-made businessman when she steps into his pub to get out of the weather. Danny feels sorry for Phoebe and gives her a job and, after she and her mother get kicked out of their boardinghouse, he gives them a place to stay. Phoebe’s mother wants her to marry Viscount Cosgrove, a man as old as her father, so they can reclaim their place in society, but Phoebe has had enough of society and its snooty people. She sees something in Danny that she hadn’t found in society but nothing has worked so far! This book is sweet and steamy, determined and timid, it has everything you could want!

A fortuitous meeting that might just change the life of one Lady Phoebe Darlington, formerly in higher standing with the Ton. That is until her father passed away and left her and her mother trying to manage on their own.
Danny Long was a self made businessman who had a knack for making money and had brought himself up from his lower birth. But he despised the nobility for their snooty ways but longed to be accepted deep down.
When the two met when she went into his pub to get out of the weather, he felt a strong attraction and felt sympathy for her plight. But with their classes so different, was there a chance?
Great story as all of this series of The May Flowers has been!!
I enjoyed Danny and Phoebe’s story as it is well written, humorous at times and full of heart. After the death of Phoebe’s father, she and her mother are turned out of their home and are able to survive due to Phoebe’s resourcefulness. Phoebe is unaware of an inheritance from her father but others know of it and try to force a marriage she is totally against. Danny, who is a member of the middle class, a pub and land owner and one of the richest men in London, meets Phoebe and is instantly attracted to her. In the end there is a HEA but a lot happens first. You have to love Danny, his character is written with so much heart and goodness that he is an extremely likable person and a good match for Phoebe. This is a wonderful story that I enjoyed immensely and would highly recommend as a great read.

Steamy regency romance with a couple who has a magnetic attraction but the snobbish society odds are stacked against them. Danny is scandalous and determined, Phoebe is reserved and thinks about her back bone more than actually engaging it. She’s brave, humble and is very patient. Both have life changing choices to make as they are weighed down by envy, propriety in the midst of them trying to work out their differences of opinions. I enjoyed the give and take and my heart went out to both characters. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
When Phoebe ducked into a pub to get out of the rain she did not expect her life to change after meeting Danny, owner of the pub. Phoebe has lost it all and is thankful that Danny goes out of his way to help her. Danny is more than he seems and Phoebe can’t help but fall for him. But he has some secrets that may make him lose her. He can only hope their love is strong enough when those secrets come out. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.
This is one of best in the series. Lady Phoebe Darlington has been through a lot but she picks herself up, gets a job that unfortunately puts in a direct line for humiliation and now her mother is pushing her father’s friend on her. A chance rainstorm changes her life with a dash into a local pub. Danny Long is the local success story even though most people have no idea. This book is fun and at times intense. With Danny in her life, Phoebe, finally finds joy and excitement.

The sixth book is this delightfully entertaining series. Very well written with characters who jump out of the page at you, they feel so real. I so loved Danny yes he’s street smart, loud, brash but has a heart of gold. Phoebe is very down on her luck but making the best of it. Together they bring out the best in each other & the chemistry is electric. Another book tat had me reading until the small hours to finish it
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
I really liked this story. It was fun and interesting. I really enjoyed Phoebe and Danny’s love story. Phoebe was the daughter of a Marquess who died and left her and her mother penniless. She had to work at Harrods to support them. Danny was a Pub owner and a businessman. They meet one rainy afternoon when Phoebe came in Danny’s Pub. Danny helped her out when they got thrown out of the boarding house, they were living in. Danny never felt like he could be part of society, and Phoebe felt like she got kicked out of society. Together they just worked. The love scenes were hot, but nice because there was love. I think you will enjoy this book as much as I did.
I received an ARC for my honest opinion.
Since the death of her duplicitous, scandalous father, Lady Phoebe Darlington and her mother have been left with nothing but debt and ridicule. Phoebe has resorted to working in a shop to keep them fed and housed, only to see them ousted from their boarding house thanks to her mother’s outlandish behavior.
Danny Long is a savvy businessman and one of the wealthiest men in England, but he’s quiet about it and sticks to his lower-class roots even though he quietly yearns for the respect commanded by aristocrats. When Phoebe waits out a rainstorm in his pub, Danny decides he must make her his, no matter what he has to do to make that happen, starting with offering her and her mother lodging in a flat he owns.
This was a fun romp, more in the vein of the earlier books in this series, thankfully. Our heroine is sensible rather than air-headed and Danny was obnoxious and loud in the most charming way. I enjoyed the fact that these two chose each other and stuck by their determination to be together even when they fought, which made this very relatable and endearing. I enjoyed this one and I’m looking forward to Lenore’s story.
