Annemarie Garrett had a clear plan for her future. Getting pregnant at eighteen by a man twice her age wasn’t part of it. Shifting directions at the unexpected fork in the road, she moves across Wyoming to secure a future for her son from the wealthy rancher who fathered him. But a gift of five hundred acres unwillingly given isn’t the boon it seems. Annemarie knows nothing about ranching, and … this barren tract of land is just a stone’s throw from a man and his family who hate her and everything she represents.
With six older brothers ahead of him in line for his family’s ranch, Gabriel Collins knew from a young age that he’d have to find his own way in the world. Now he’s a master electrician with a successful business. Something is missing, however, and when Ms. Garrett calls in desperate need of his expertise, he finds out exactly what. The indomitable young mother, her adorable little boy, and their struggle to turn Garrett Ranch from a money pit into a profitable operation might just be the family and the cause he didn’t know he was searching for.

Loved the book.
Great book!
A sweet story of love found between two people that had both been dealt a rotten hand and betrayed by their last partners. Throw in the cute and sweet kid, a ranch background and some steamy scenes and you have a satisfying book to get cozy with.
Beautiful
This was a wonderfully written at about standing up for what is right. Annie got pregnant while in college but finished and has her son. She felt his needed far roots and saw Cody’s dad. Found out he was married. But Tom’s father decided to give her some land, a house & animals. But now the electricity keeps going off and she meets Gabe, a dream come true.
A sweet, relaxing book with a wonderful, regular guy hero.
Loved this book for it’s easy reading and warm characters. The way family is meant to be.
I loved this book.
Good read, moved along at good pace.
All roads lead (eventually) to love
Single mother Annemarie and her son Cody find themselves at home in a run-down Wyoming ranch – next door to the rich, two-timing sleaze ball MARRIED rancher who led her down the proverbial primrose path. He refuses to acknowledge his son, but gives them the near-worthless ranch as his son’s only support or inheritance. Gabe, master electrician and rancher from birth is called by Annemarie to fix the problematic wiring in her dilapidated cabin home, and this starts two people down a path of growing romance, growing dangers, and just plain growth. Annemaries is a gutsy lady, Gabe is the modern knight in shining armor, the road ends in HEA, and fans of modern western romance (slightly steamy) are gonna get everything they want from Suzie O’Connell’s fine standalone novel.
Wow. Couldn’t put it down
Good story. Too much family involvement into the couple’s relationship though.
Very well written book. Found only one gramatical error.
Fun to read.
Plainly enjoyable from beginning to end
Liked the book a lot. It was quite realistic, and the characters were well formed. I’d recommend it to others.
Hated to have it end! Strong characters, great story line.
Predictable
Good read. Only thing is there are more books in series and not available in library.
Great for the romantic.
An enjoyable entertaining read with interesting characters holding one’s interest
