I’ve loved him from afar.Though most times he’s only a foot away. I’m smart enough to know he’ll never be anyone’s forever. He checks all the bad boy boxes. Tattoos. Check. Motorcycle. Check. Chip on his shoulder. Check check. If he wasn’t my neighbor and friend I may have thrown myself at him. Okay, yeah. I wouldn’t. Because guys like Dylan don’t want a woman who writes kid’s math textbooks under … writes kid’s math textbooks under him in bed. Instead, I pathetically savor morsels of moments where I have his sole attention.
That was until his archenemy moved in with me. Now suddenly, Dylan’s moving in too and warning off the first guy in a long time who’s showing me interest. Could he finally see me as more than a friend, or am I just a prize to win and show off to his enemy?

When an author drops breadcrumbs to her readers about a couple in previous books of the series, then when their book lands on your kindle you dive right in without even checking the temperature of the water! Rian and Dylan have been in the background for just a couple books, but they made a giddy impression on my from the start. They’re that couple you always wonder about and get excited about just thinking will they/won’t they? thoughts about!
On paper, these two seem like polar opposites but they really worked together fantastically. I loved that about Piper Raine. These ladies always give me characters I can see and feel their relatability to real life. Their personalities and their stories and their interactions and just everything is always so real and relatable and so easy to read! I always get lost in their stories for hours before I even think of taking a break! LOL
There’s something about the concept of I feel nothing until wait, what’s that you say? someone else is in the picture? … it just makes me smile LOL I mean whyyyyyyyyyy do people make it so hard?!?! In real life and fiction!! *sigh* I really liked this story you guys. I like everything about everyone, pretty much. Yes, I had my share of STOP.IT eye-twitches but every story needs dumb conflict, amirite?! LOLOLOL This is a very realistic story told in a very relatable way so full stars from me!
The Rival Roomies is a friends-to-lovers story about stepping out of the shadows and becoming your own person. Dylan does not think that he is good enough for Rian and has been keeping his feelings for her close to his chest for a long time. Rian has been in love with Dylan since he moved into the same building as her but thinks that Dylan only sees her as a friend and nothing more. Until Dylan’s former best friend moves in with her which sends Dylan into an overprotective mode. Will Jax moving in finally bring Dylan and Rian together or will Dylan miss his chance? The Rooftop Crew continues to grow book by book and is a series you do not want to miss. Piper Rayne did an amazing job of keeping the story fun as well as delivering the message of not letting your past define who you are. I can not wait for the rest of The Rooftop Crew.

This book was everything!! Dylan is my new book boyfriend! I adored his and Rian’s story! it was the best out of the rooftop crew! I can’t wait to see what comes next!
I’ve been anxiously awaiting Dylan’s story after reading the first two books in the series and I wasn’t disappointed! Piper Rayne nailed their story and had me falling head over heels from the moment I started reading. I’m not even a little surprised at this. These two make up one of my favorite author duos and they continue to impress me with each book. I think considering I’ve read both the previous books I can say that (so far) this is my favorite! I loved watching these two together and seeing some of my favorites from previous books in this one.
If you’re looking for a book to make you swoon, then you don’t need to look any further! This is the book for you. While it is a standalone in the series, I suggest reading all the books for no other reason then they are FANTASTIC and really set you up for this one!
Rian and Dylan’s story was the one I have been waiting for throughout this series, and it was perfect for their characters.
Rian has liked Dylan from afar for awhile now. She keeps her feelings a secret because she doesn’t want him to have to let her down.
Dylan has secrets of his own, and knows acting on his feelings could potentially blow up in his face.
Watching Rian and Dylan navigate their new life as roommates as well as avoid the elephant in the room was hilarious. Everyone knows they have feelings for each other, but they refuse to admit them to each other. Throw in Jax and his meddling ways, and it made for amazing story.
I also love how Piper and Rayne lead you into the next book. Trying to figure out what is going to happen next is always one of my favorite things about their books.

Rian and Dylan I have been waiting impatiently for your story and I loved it !
A classic friends to lovers. These two have been running in the same friends circle. They have been keeping their attraction under wraps but those closest to them have had them pegged from the start! It takes a man from Dylan’s past to upset this friendly apple cart . The three of them are now roommates and this is leading to a bit of friction .When he shows an interest in Rian that is the last straw. Get ready for some drama and sexual chemistry ! Their story is fun, emotional and can be complicated when feelings come into play! They have a fabulous group of friends and it was so much fun to see all of them once again.

I’ve been interested in Rian and Dylan since this series started and Piper Rayne did not disappoint! I was questioning whether or not Rian was the one for Dylan and I should have known there was so much more to her than meets the eye! This friends to lovers romance has everything…fun and witty banter, amazing chemistry and innuendos that will leave you grinning from ear to ear. Both Rian and Dylan are not at all what I expected and I have to say, I loved every minute of their story!
The Rival Roomies is the latest book in The Rooftop Crew series, and I can’t get enough of this amazing group of friends!
I have been dying for Dylan & Rian’s story since they were first introduced in My Bestie’s Ex, and their story was even better than I hoped. I loved everything about this book, and it’s definitely my favorite so far in the series.
I knew underneath the seemingly shy roommate we’ve come to know was a true badass, and Rian definitely proved it was true. Once she finally went after what she wanted she was unstoppable, and I loved seeing her come out of her shell and fight for what made her happy. And Dylan was so much more than I hoped, a bad boy with a heart of gold that definitely had me drooling on the other side of my kindle! From the glimpses we’ve gotten of these two, there was an undeniable spark, but once their story got started they truly sizzled.
And that epilogue! It’s truly one of my favorite endings I’ve read in forever, and I’m still smiling even an hour after finishing!
The cherry on top of an amazing book – the rest of the rooftop crew! I love this friendship circle so much, and it just keeps getting better with each book and new addition to the crew. I can’t wait for the next one!
So sweet and sexy! I really liked Rian and Dylan’s friends-to-lovers romance. I have not read the first two books in this series and was able to manage the characters just fine. But having read this, I want to go and read the other two! I love the dynamic of this group of friends! Adding Jax to the mix was genius! It was his interest in Rian that pushed Dylan to give into his attraction. Rian is normally so shy but I loved how she was assertive and went after what she wanted. How she stands up to her parents was super bad ass. I love how she wasn’t afraid to tell them how she really felt. I am really looking forward to more of the Rooftop Crew!
4.5 STARS!
I can’t even begin to tell you how eager I was to get Rian and Dylan’s story, it’s been a huge anticipation since book 1 of The Rooftop Crew! It was everything I wanted and more in one of my most anticipated reads for 2020, but there were still some moments that could have used a little more.
Rian and Dylan have been skirting around their feelings since they first time. It was pretty obvious how Rian felt when it came to Dylan, but he almost seemed unreachable. And for the life of me, I was eager to know why Dylan never crossed that line of friendship when it came to Rian.
When it came to these two, everything fit so perfectly, in my mind, there was no reason for these two to be apart. In comes Jax to shake things up a bit and if it wasn’t for him, Rian and Dylan may have never been.
Another note on Jax, if you’ve fallen in love with a side character, wait until you read about Jax. He nearly stole the show for me. And when you do pick up The Rival Roomies, make sure you read the author’s note at the end. They talk about Jax a bit more
So why the 4.5 stars? I can’t say I was completely on-board with Dylan’s reasons for not taking that extra hurdle with Rian, but it is what it is. Definitely looking forward to next installment in this series.

Piper Rayne
This is the third book from The Rooftop Crew series and I was so SO excited for this one, I loved Dylan and Rian since book one, but the end of the book 2 got me laughing hard and only made me want to devour this book even more! But the day is finally here.
Dylan and Rian are perfect for each other, I loved how both of them only brought the best in each other. Even though Dylan thought he wasn’t worth of her and they were too opposites to be together, they actually had more in common, specially the meaning of family. I’m so glad they both found their real family in their friends, because let me tell you, Rian’s parents? Are the worst.
I loved how they cared for each other and their chemistry? Was off charts! Their friends were so supportive of them as well and that gave us laughing out loud scenes, specially with Seth and Jax. Ohhh Jax, you will love him just as I did! Can’t wait for his book. Actually, we can give him an award because he was the one who really got Dylan and Rian together. And later he was so supportive of them, just like a best friend would be.
I was so emotional while reading chapter 33. Dylan deserves the world and it’s so good to read a strong character with a real vulnerability. My heart broke and heal in just one chapter. And Rian? Such a beautiful, strong and intelligent woman! I loved her and her road to find herself, her confidence and what she loves in the world.
The ending was amazing. Piper and Rayne never disappoint. Dylan and Rian got their deserved happy ending with an amazing addition in the family. And the bonus scene? Swoon hard! Don’t forget to download. Also gave us a good start with Seth and Evan story, I’m predicting a good Romeo and Juliet kind of story and I can’t wait!
Don’t let the title fool you, The Rival Roomies is not about a love triangle. It does, however, introduce a new character, Jax, who’s known Dylan since they were kids and it’s his antics that finally push Dylan to make a move on Rian. Bringing in Jax also helps us get to know Dylan better and explain why he is the way he is.
I know Seth’s story is up next in The Rooftop Crew series, and while I am looking forward to reading it, I am now more curious about Jax’s story!
The Rival Roomies is a friends-to-lovers, contemporary roommate romance written in dual first-person POV. It’s a standalone that ends with a HEA. No cliffhanger, no cheating.
I received this book at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.
Piper Rayne have not failed me yet. I always look forward to picking up one of their books and I’ve especially been excited to read Rian and Dylan’s story since meeting them earlier in the series.
Rian has a a crush on Dylan, but he does not seem to return her feelings. Everything changes, though, when his ex best friend Jax ends up being Rian’s new roommate. I liked getting to know both Dylan and Rian as the story unfolded. There was a nice mix of humor, romance, and drama that made the book hard to put down.
Of course the rest of the Rooftop Crew also make appearances too. I love the characters and the mix of tropes so far and I can’t wait to see what’s next!
Thank you to the authors for providing an ARC for an honest review.
Piper Rayne are honestly my favorite author duo. I devour every book they release and it wasn‘t different with this book. I waited so long to finally read Dylan‘s story! I mean you just fall in love with him in the first book.
Rian and Dylan are sooo different and yet perfect for eachother. Dylan is a fun, a very hot tattoo artist and you‘re all around favorite bad boy, but he has a big heart which you will get to know in this book.
Rian is sooo smart! She‘s brilliant and so sweet. She writes math books and bakes a mean chocolate cake.
Introduced in this book is also a new character from Dylans past – Jax. He‘s much like Dylan but more wild. I enjoyed him and am excited to read his book already.
I will never not recommend a book from Piper Rayne.

Piper and Rayne never disappoint. The Rival Roomies is just what we love when it comes to their books. It’s cute, funny and sexy. I’ve been dying for Rian and Dylan’s story and boy what a great one it is.
When these two finally decide to make s go at it it turns explosive. Their chemistry is off the charts hot and the laughs just keep coming. Seth keeps me rolling as does the rest of this crew. Clifton Heights has become one of my favorite places to visit and can not wait for more from these wonderful characters. Really enjoyed it.

4.5*
Loved Rian and Dylan’s story, my favorite of the series so far. I enjoyed getting to know them, seeing where they came from, and how it led them to become the people they are today. Dylan’s history was one that really tugged at the heart strings. I was kind of surprised by Rian’s back story, as I always just assumed (from what little I knew of her from the previous 2 books) that she was happy with where she was in life, (other than pining away for Dylan!).
Dylan and Rian both come a long way in this book and I loved being on the journey with them. Dylan had a lot to overcome and deal with, when it came to letting someone in and falling in love. His past definitely played a part in how he felt about relationships, but I was so glad to see him overcome everything that was holding him back. Rian ended up being so much stronger than I expected and I just loved that about her. When she finally went after what she wanted there was no stopping her.
It’s always so great seeing characters from previous books play such important supporting roles. Dylan and Rian have a terrific group of friends who really showed how much they cared for these two. I especially loved the friendship between Dylan, Knox, and Jax- they were there to hold him up, as well as to show him the error of his ways when needed. We should all be so lucky to have friends like that in our lives!
I have to say, I can’t wait for Seth’s book- he definitely stole the show a time or two!
Dylan & Rian are going to knock your socks off! So much pent up love! Elizabeth @ Carolina Chic’s Read
Dylan & Rian’s story is finally here. When Jax moves into the empty room in Rian’s apartment… Dylan snaps. He cannot take that particular man to be near Rian.. he knows deep in his soul that this man cannot be trusted. Things happen and Dylan must face his past so that he can step forward, save his business and trust that he is enough for Rian. YALL THIS BOOK WAS SO FRIGGIN GOOD!
5 Rival Stars!
I have been waiting for this story!! Rian and Dylan have had such a great connection since the start of the series!! Rival Roomies was the third book in Piper and Rayne’s Rooftop Crew Series. This entire series has been sweet and sexy and Rival Roomies did not disappoint! So heartwarming and swoony!
Rian had been in love with Dylan since she met him, but she knew he didn’t feel the same way. Except, now that Dylan’s former best friend has moved in with her, he won’t let her out of his sight. Was he finally seeing her as more than a friend or was he just making sure his friend didn’t land the prize?
What a great friends to lovers story! They both didn’t have the easiest of lives but figured out how to let each other in; with that came unconditional support and love!
I love this group of friends, I can’t wait to see what will be in store for them next!
I think this might be my favorite Rooftop Crew read!
We have seen Rian and Dylan as secondary characters in the first two books of the series. It was fun to see their story grow from those snippets into a full fledged affair.
Rian, Dylan, and (new roommate) Jax are characters that I enjoyed getting to know better and liked more as I got to spend time with them. Rian and Dylan are both more complicated that they initially seemed, and have more in common than the first glance would reveal.
The duo behind Piper and Rayne did a great job of blending the various emotional dynamics into a story that moved quickly. I found myself pulled in and not wanting to put the book down. If you have followed the Rooftop Crew series, you’ll be glad to see previous couples appear in secondary roles as well as continuing to get to know members of the friend group better. I am hoping to see more of Seth and Jax in the future.
I really enjoyed this story! When I first read the blurb I was really intrigued with the story and knew I wanted to read it! The blurb lived up to the actual story! For awhile there I wasn’t sure where the story was going to go with the three main characters. I part of me was going to expect this big brawl to happen and lots of drama. But the authors kept it within the fun, lighthearted aspect that has been a common theme with this series. The authors did a good job developing this twist and having it play out the way it did. I really enjoyed the characters and getting to know their backstory more. It all tied into the story really well. The story overall was well written. I did find some slower parts in the beginning and some at the end. But it was a cute, fun, sweet, and sexy story and worth the read!
