Rich boys don’t fraternize with the help. They don’t fall in love with the help. They don’t risk everything for the help.We know what we’re up against now. Who we’re up against. But if he holds all the cards, the truth hardly matters. The kings of Linwood want me to run. They want me far away from here, where I’ll be safe.I won’t go though. I refuse to leave my mom behind, and the four boys who’ve … to leave my mom behind, and the four boys who’ve each claimed a piece of my heart won’t let me face this threat on my own.
They swear they’ll do whatever it takes to end this. To keep me safe.
Since we won’t back down, fighting is our only option.
But I’ve played poker long enough to know that sometimes when you risk everything…
You lose everything.

I seriously loved this entire series, to the point where I devoured it within 2 days. It would have taken me maybe a day if only real life didn’t get in the way. I would have much preferred to read this series instead of having to work, that is for sure.
Harlow has figured out who the real perpetrator is in the end of The Lie and it is not someone either of them expected. It makes their hunt for answers and clues a bit harder since this person is well connected. But at least they know who it is, so that’s a plus.
I honestly love Harlow’s sassiness. That girl almost never gets tongue-tied (except when it comes to her four boys) and I love how positive she always tries to be. Her mom is in prison for something that she did not do and she does not curl herself into a ball crying but instead she does everything in her power to prove her mom’s innocence. She and the boys definitely bit off more than they can chew but that did not stop either of them from doing what they thought was right. Harlow, as well as Lincoln, River, Dax and Chase are really admirable and it makes me giddy thinking of their relationship.
I absolutely love the way the boys are with Harlow. They are so affectionate, protecting and loving. They prove everyday how much Harlow means to them, through their actions as well as their words. They honestly melt me into puddle of goo, those boys. Harlow also finally has sex with the remaining two boys and it is everything I could have hoped for.
I really adore the fact that these boys are truly friends. A lot of times in this type of books the boys barely tolerate each other, hanging out together just because they run in the same social circles. But this is not the case with Lincoln, Dax, River and Chase. They genuinely love and care for each other and it is beautiful to watch.
Some serious shit goes down in The Risk . Harlow and the boys are doing their best to get evidence to get the real murderer convicted and get her mom out of prison. It is not an easy task and they truly need to put trust in each other in order to pull this off. Everything is put on line and not everyone comes out alive.
I am truly sad to see this series come to an end. It was way too short for my liking, I wish I could read on about Harlow and the boys’ lives and I really hope that the authors decides to write another series about them going to college or something. That would be totally awesome.
The conclusion of this series is absolutely bittersweet. I definitely wasn’t ready to let go of Harlow and her guys.
“There’s a relief in knowing that we have each other. That we all belong to each other. But it’s terrifying in a way too. As if finally speaking our feelings aloud has made us even more aware of what we could lose.”
— The Risk: A Reverse Harem High School Bully Romance (Kings of Linwood Academy Book 3) by Callie Rose
I’m gutted it’s over. When Harlow realizes who actually killed Iris, I felt my heart skip. It was right there, but I didn’t see it coming.
I loved this series. I loved the characters. I still love that this was one of my first RH books. I know there will always be a special place in my heart for Linwood.
Damn. That ended differently than I thought.
Spoilers if you haven’t read the first two books.
Harlow figures out who killed Iris. Now she and the guys have to figure out how to take him down, without getting killed in the process. I was on a mind trip on how this would go down. I liked the ending. Wasn’t as grand as I thought it was going to be but I did like it. I like how it ended with Harlow and the guys. I don’t think I really have a favorite. I like them all.
The Kings will do anything to protect Harlow at this point. Harlow is determined to save her mother and the Kings are running right beside her. Their devotion is stronger than any highschool romance I have ever known. These kids are wiser beyond their years, but the corruption goes so deep, they may not be able to save Harlow’s mom in time. THis is a perfect finale to the drama that has surrounded Harlow. The suspense is een more intense than the other two books. I was once again hooked and could not stop listening until the end. I devoured this series in two days. I am sad it is over, but I loved the ending. It was just getting there that had me on the edge of my seat.
Amanda Stirling is stellar in this narration. There are so many moving pieces and Amanda narrates each one flawlessly. Amanda created a movie in my mind. Her narration added to the experience of this series. I loved that it was a consistent narrator. I cannot wait to hear more from Amanda Stirling.
I think Callie Rose has definitely forced her way into my automatic check-out list for new releases! I have devoured both her bully romances and loved them so much (finishing up her PNR next!). I thought the writing in this one was amazing (I still think I loved book 2 the best though, not saying this one was bad or anything). Some things you could guess were going to happen but some things were still a surprise which is nice to see in these type of stories that can become so repetitive. I wont give away any spoilers, but I think the twins increased on my book boyfriend list in this world haha. I liked that we got to see them/witness interactions between Harlow and them individually because in the other 2 books it was hard to remember which was which. I liked that Callie gave us more there. I also love how these boys rallied around Harlow and were really there for her when she needed them most. They didn’t dismiss her or leave her out of things. Also, happy it ended the way it did, with someone having a sorta heart before his ending and people believed the group when they told their side of the story. I am kinda hoping for some check-ins with the crew, because I want to see Harlow’s mom find love after what she went through. I hope these guys maaaaybe meet up with some west coast group (hint hint hint) or at least maybe with some friends that go off to college away from their hometown haha. Highly, highly, highly recommend this series. I liked the bullying was way less than Callie’s other series and the guys got onboard way faster. Lead to some real butterfly and aww moments (and also steaming off the charts moments ).
Now I couldn’t give Amanda a 5/5 on this one because I am not a fan of how she depicted Harlow upset/scared/shocked. I mean, there are times to be whiney and crying out, but some of them were not necessary. When you are shocked, you don’t always cry out in your head. She made her feel less of a strong character in those moments, which kinda took me out of the book for a bit. The rest of the time, and with the other voices, she was phenomenal. I think this one had a lot of potential to be a homerun on all fronts, but the narration sometimes wasn’t 100% there for me. Definitely will be listening to her again and would recommend her to everyone. Just giving honest feedback in case people read this

The mystery surrounding Iris’s death is solved. Many unforseen twists, action packed crime solving, by the Linwood 5. A family torn apart, another brought back together. They are all stronger together from their experiences. Their love and devotion to each other runs deep. Steamy sex, Mom out of jail, the killer apprehended, bullies dealt with.
