What I thought about this book:
I will admit I was a bit skeptical when I read Travis Rodgers’s forward to the book, I mean most husbands think highly of their wife and her work. I was pleasantly surprised that the book really was good. The concept was fun and unique. Alena had lots of wants and dreams for her life, but when given a glimpse of what might have been she found out that it wasn’t quite what she had imagined. Each “husband” and life was vastly different from her own and I found myself caught up in each story to see what Alena’s life could have been if she had made different choices. I was wary of J.C. at first, but Rodgers wrote it in a way that was not disrespectful. The story was enjoyable and was one that has left me thinking since I read it. I look forward to reading more of Rodgers works.

Imagine you have been married for a number of years, but you feel like there is something missing in your marriage. Your spouse is a Christian and attends church, but you do not see a need to do the same. Then imagine you meet someone with the name JC, and you start waking up in various places with different husbands you do not know. Yet the one constant is JC. You are unable to figure out what happens to Alena.
Marriage takes work, but more specifically it requires three people to be in the marriage. Those people are obviously the husband and wife, but God and His beloved Son Jesus Christ need to be included in the marriage together.
For what God has joined together no man can put asunder. It takes Alena quite a while to recognize what is going on and why the rings do not fit.
This book provides an excellent look at what can happen without Jesus in a marriage. But it also provides a look at the blessings that can come when we invite Jesus into our marriages as well as our lives.
This work of fiction is definitely worth reading.

What an interesting story! I’m not a big speculative fiction reader, in fact it’s a genre that I rarely read, but something about this book’s description intrigued me, and I was excited to request a free review copy.
This book kind of reminds me a little bit of the movies 13 Going on 30, and Isn’t it Romantic?, with a Christian fiction twist and a story that is all it’s own! The Ring Does Not Fit is a great story that does a beautiful job of pointing the reader to Jesus, without ever being preachy!
This story is a quick read that kept me flipping pages super fast because I had to know what would happen next!
I really liked main character Alena, though there were times that I got a tad annoyed with her because she couldn’t see what was right in front of her face, but let’s face it, I don’t know about you but that’s something I know I myself have done numerous times, so it’s definitely true to life and very realistic!
Overall, even though it’s not my genre of choice I really enjoyed The Ring Does Not Fit and highly recommend it!
(4 Stars!)

What if you could have everything you wished for? When it happens in The Ring Does Not Fit it doesn’t go exactly as hoped for. Think It’s A Wonderful Life but with a twist.
This was a fun novel to read but not particularly grab me and don’t let go. It wasn’t one that made me feel like I’d miss something if I put the book down. It’s a good book about being content though and not wishing away our life. Too often we wish for everything we don’t have and forget to be thankful for what we do have.

This story reminded me of “It’s a Wonderful Life,” with a twist. I was able to relate to Alena more than I wanted to. She was so critical of her husband, marriage and life in general. Poor thing thought the grass was greener on the other side. A very special guest in the story takes Alena on a journey through several “marriages,” that she thought would be better. Many of us are guilty of complaining about our spouse . Sometimes our eyes wander and think what it would be like to be with someone else.
The author does a great job of showing Alena what her life may be like and as the journey continues she starts to realize how much she misses her husband. There were a few points in the story that I thought were key points. One of them was Alena didn’t know what love really was because she didn’t know what loving Jesus meant. She had no relationship with Him and really didn’t believe in Him. The second point which I found to be powerful was that Jesus has given us the spouse we were meant to be with. When we learn to accept each other and love unconditionally, then we will have a marriage filled with joy and contentment.
I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.
