Ms. Mankin has done it again! I absolutely love her reimagined fairytales. This time we get Camaro and Bradley’s story. The pages just flew by and the next thing I knew I had finished it in one sitting. I fell for Brad almost instantly. The way he treated Cam was swoon worthy. Both characters have many layers to their facade and once their walls come down there’s no turning back. Life has not been kind to Cam and I loved getting a front row seat to HEA. I’m a sucker for a great epilogue and this one was adorable.
I recieved this book for Free to Give My True & Honest Review
Heck I adored this story between Cam & Brad who we did meet in The Right Man, being Jewel & Rush’s best friends, but for some reason or another it took me a lot longer than it usually would.
Here we see that Brad never comes across like he feels anything likeable towards Cam, well that is until his sister, Sierra & nephew, Dylan comes to his. But things change after she tells Pete *the father of the 2 kids Gerald & Geraldine, she sees & gets them things to help them out & also tells them stories to cheer them up,* comes very close to her before Brad comes in front of him & Cam.
Then Cam actually asks Brad to help her to make sure that Jewel goes with Rush on tour & not stay behind with her & this is where things between the 2 of them switch things around & they become slightly more open with each other & they actually become closer to each other & she starts to open up about her past with a professional, while he’s not there quite yet but she sees that he’s NOT just a music manager he actually is/well could be a Front Man.
It is such an eye opener for them but it’s not quiet for them through their time together while she’s staying at his during the tour & she’s there for him too, & sees some of his true inner self…
The Right Wish is a modern-day retelling of Snow White with a little spin to it. This one is Camero and Brad’s story. If you read The Right Man then you have meet them. Camero is a sweet nice girl. She has a past and is in need of a little help. Brad likes her and swoops in to help. Both have secrets that they are keeping. Both Camero and Brad are great characters and their story had me hooked.
This was a wonderful riches to rags to riches sorta story featuring characters from Michelles awesome book from 2019 The Right Man. We meet Jewel’s bestie Cam and Rush’s manager Brad again. From the start they seem to be as different as chalk and cheese, Cam was once a princess but is now deeply ashamed of her life on the streets. She is fiercely loyal to her best friend and happy for her, but she does not want to be a hanger on and is determined to earn her keep by doing chores around the house.
Brad is Rush’s super controlling manager, always picking fault with Cam causing them to bicker every time they meet. Both of them are hiding their true feelings for each other. Cam daydreams about a beautiful golden prince who always appears as Brad and she knows she will never be good enough for him. In return Brad respects Cam and sees her as the kind and loving person that she is.
He has had a secret desire for Cam since they first met but is afraid to act on it, not wanting to upset his professional relationship with Rush.
When Rush goes on tour, Brad is determined to take care of Cam which means that she has to move into his house. This is when the dynamic between them changes as they each learn more about each other. As they become closer they start to see that their differences don’t matter but their future together will matter if they can both trust again.
It is a such a beautiful story, so wonderful to see Cam blooming and becoming the beautiful princess that she was always meant to be, while at the same time encouraging Brad to let go of his dominating controlling nature and do what he has what he has always dreamed of doing. It is such a heartwarming that makes you believe in the power of love.
4.5*
I love this story. This is Camaro ( Juliet’s best friend) and Brad’s ( Rush’s best friend and manager) story. We meet these two in The Right Man. Camaro is like Snow White she once was like a princess until a manipulating step mother Cam finds herself doing what she has to, to survive. Brad has always had feelings for Cam but he kept her at a distance because he was in a relationship. Now single he comes up with a plan to help Cam and to show her how much he wants her. This was such a sweet, emotional, loving story. Cam has such a sweet and loving heart but from past relationships, her past as a hooker, recovering from an attack she feels that she is unlovable and destined to never have a happy ever after. Love how Brad is a dominate, caveman alpha but has trouble expressing how he feels. So there is a lot of miscommunications between these two, but the chemistry between these two are explosive. Loved the story and the characters.
I received an ARC and volunteered to leave a
The Right Wish by Michelle Mankin is absolutely stunning. A beautifully written modern-day fairy tale that held my heart in its clutches from beginning to end–I couldn’t put it down and was up late into the night reading this one in one sitting. I have not read the previous book in the series, The Right Man, but had no trouble following the story making, it truly a standalone story–although truthfully, I am now absolutely dying to read Rush and Jewel’s book because of how much I loved The Right Wish (Bradly and Cam’s book). Michelle Mankin writes this particular romance with a beautiful depth for her characters; the angst of a (seemingly) unrequited love story; the sizzle and heat that goes hand in hand with exceptionally written chemistry; and just as epically as I expect of a fairy tale. I HIGHLY recommend The Right Wish if your in the mood for a romance that will make you fall in love with all over again!
I really enjoyed reading this modern day fairytale! Michelle Mankin knows how to create swoon worthy men, and brad was just . The Right Wish was
I really enjoyed how the character developed together. Their love blossomed in a totally realistic way, I adored reading their story!
Beautiful! A real fairytale. Even though this book is the second book in the series, and I have not read the first one, there was no trouble with any confusion. I felt like the author gave the needed information to understand and enjoy this book as a standalone. I loved Brad and Cam together. There was a strong attraction between them, but there was also a little snarkiness and playful banter between them that made it fun, amongst a very serious storyline. I thought it was outstanding writing that kept me up to 5:30 in the morning to finish it, because there was no putting it down. This is a book that I highly recommend.
Mankin knocked this one out of the park with a great story that still connects with Black Cat Records’ rock stars without it being a rockstar romance. Camero, the heroine of the story, finds herself in a Cinderella situation, when she finds a Prince Charming of a guy, in a domineering kind of way. These two tiptoe around the situation they are in until they figure out how to overcome both their issues. Hers are much more severe than his but his are equally frustrating.
I loved this story, as with all of Michelle Mankin’s’ books. The characters are believable, the plot is fresh , and the pace is perfect for any reader looking for an HEA.
Five magical stars
I loved this Snow White retelling. Loved how Cam and Brad came together, layer by layer lowering their guards and revealing their secrets until they eventually surrendered their hearts to one another. It was romantic and magical just like a fairy tale. “A rose that blooms in adversity is still a rose, Cam. Blooming in harsh circumstances only makes it that much more beautiful, that much more worthy of admiration.”
4.5 stars
The Right Wish brought me so many feels! Cam had such a beautiful pure heart, and she always did what she could to make everyone around her feel better. She had a hard time giving the same kindness to herself, though. She was hung up on the mistakes she had made (which is understandable), and had a little trouble at firs to see her own worth.
Brad was a fantastic hero – even if I didn’t really like him at the very beginning of the story. Once I understood him better, though, I fell head over heels for both him and Cam.
The Right Wish is a beautifully written story, with both stories and song lyrics within the story, and I loved how much love and kindness were included here. The themes were very strong, too, kindness can go a very long time, and I think especially these days, it’s even more important than usual. Self forgiveness is a strong theme here as well, and I felt like Cam grew so much when she finally realized just how worthy she was – of love, of forgiveness, of friendship and of kindness.
Mankin brought out all the stops here, and she has woven such a beautiful, romantic, hot and sweet story I just want to sit down and disappear in it again.
This is the second book in the Once Upon a Rockstar series. I finished reading and think it is an amazing book. You will be surprised by Camaro’s past after reading the first book in the series, The Right Man and you will fall in love with Camaro and Brad as a couple. They have personal issues to overcome however their chemistry is off the chart, so get ready for some great steamy scenes. The humour between them is also lots of fun. I was happy that Jewel and Cam’s magical friendship continues and is included in lots of scenes. Michelle Mankin also connects us with some other characters related to the band.
Absolutely beautifully written! The Right Wish gives you all the feels and leaves you wanting more. You will definitely fall in love with the characters and their story. A must read!! Michelle Mankin never disappoints!
Oh I really Loved and enjoyed this book,
I adore retellings of fairytales and this one by Michelle Mankin is an Incredible one, with a Rockstar element that made it shine.
I thoroughly relished reading the Love story that developed between Camero and Brad,it was unconventional, beautiful, captivating and swoon worthy.
They are opposites in some ways ,their lives are such a contrast to one anothers.
But together they fit so right, two lost souls who find eachother at the right time.
This is a Gorgeous dream of a book that will make you believe in happily ever afters.
I Loved it and Highly recommend it.
I loved Cam and Brads story! They were both hiding things but Brads issues were marring his present where he would not give into things that made him happy. I adored Cam but felt bad for how she viewed herself and what she thought she deserved, I just wanted to shake her and wanted to shake him for not giving into what he wanted, Cam!
The Right Wish was a great read by Michelle Mankin. I loved that this book was a modern day retelling of Snow White. I absolutely loved reading Brad and Camero’s story. They are both two lonely and lost souls that meet in a pay by the hour motel. I loved that it seemed to be fate that brought them together. I loved their story and can’t wait to read more by Michelle Mankin.
This book was an amazing story filled with a great band of characters. I love reading and feeling all the emotions the characters.
The Right Wish is the fairy tale that we all need. A bit naughty and some dirty fun. I really enjpy a Michelle Mankin book.
Camaro and Brad are a complicated pair. This Snow White adult tale will have you blushing from your head down to your toes. I loved the drama and some of the angst you get. This book is will be stuck to you like glue. I enjoyed the highs and lows. The end will have you feeling complete!
The Right Wish can be read as a standalone but it’s connected to the characters Rush and Jewel from the first book The Right Man. This is about Camaro and Bradley’s story and it’s an amazing retelling of Snow White story, Bradley is the band manager, and Camaro is a sweet, beautiful woman with secrets of her own. Despite trying to keep them in her past, they come back. This story started in the most wonderful way, it’s fantastic. You will find yourself falling in love with the characters, get ready for a beautiful rollercoaster emotional ride that will keep you reading until the final page. This series with rockstars and fairytale retelling will become one of your favorites as it has become mine.
Oh you guys are really going to love this one!
This book had many highs and lows, but left me with some serious swoons. It fits beautifully in with the rest of the author’s wonderful Rock Star romances in all the best ways, and I’ve loved them all! The push and pull, and passion, between Cam and Brad is fabulous! We get to see little peeks of past characters, and I always love to see them again. All in all, I highly recommend this book!
