He never expects to find her there… knows nothing of his clandestine activities with the criminal enterprise, and stands as her stalwart protector.
Forced into marriage…
But Quinten never expects the mob boss to force them into marriage at gunpoint as a test of loyalty. Not to mention, the idea of her belonging to him isn’t unappealing, nor is he as averse to the prospect as he lets on. Becca, with her sweet curves and take no prisoners attitude, fascinates him, stirs him, and leaves him craving her submission. Yet his past is fraught with broken dreams and death, so he uses his friendship with her brother as a shield against his yearning to claim her as his own.
Resistance is futile…
However, circumstances soon compel Becca and Quinten to become the most unlikely allies in a deadly game of deception. Now they must depend on one another for survival. As they race to unlock the keys to breaking the case, will Quinten be able to maintain his hands-off policy with Becca? Or will he surrender to the earth-shattering passion and turn their marriage of convenience into the real deal?

Having a crush on a policeman is no problem, but when Becca finds him working together with a mob boss her feelings crash. So why is he telling that they are engaged to safe her from being killed?
A story of deep loyalty, but also of the long process of building trust. As with all of her books the lifestyle of BDSM plays a big role and the protective instincts of Dom Quinten rise to the forefront to protect his best friend’s baby sister. Getting married had not been his first choice, but as they give it a real try they slowly build trust.
A romantic suspense, interestingly written and entertaining. A truly enjoyable book

The third book in the Crescent City Kings series a well written story with a good storyline.I was not putting this book down until I had finished reading. Officer Quinten Blackthorne is working undercover, when Becca O’Malley his best friend sister ends up on the wrong side of the crime boss. To save her Quinten is forced to marry her. There is suspense, drama, danger, twists, turns, moles, murder, and romance. I want to read the next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Becca, artist and gallery owner, is betrayed by her employee, who used the gallery to launder drugs and money. Becca is now a “guest” of the mob boss. Quentin is a NOLA detective, undercover and pretending to be a dirty cop. Becca is his best friend’s sister – off limits. This book sucked me in at the very first page, and kept moving right along. Quentin is a great guy, and his experience as a Dom pegs Becca immediately as a sub. He’s a frustrating character – the guilt he harbors over his brother’s death leaves him unable to move on or make the commitments he needs to have a happy life. I love Becca – she doesn’t always think things all the way through, but she gives her all to life, and she’s a pistol! She’s also very definitely a sub, and Quentin is exactly what she needs. Lots of twists and turns in the story – other than the mob boss, it’s a total surprise who the bad guy is. I’m really looking forward to the next book.

I am enjoying this series! This book is Becca and Quentin’s story. A series of events throws Quentin and Becca in to a surprise wedding to escape violence from a drug lord. The escape is temporary and the two are on the run. Lots of danger, mystery and steamy action between Becca and Quentin.
There is a great cast of characters and they will hopefully be next in this series!

Love this story. Page turning and very entertaining. The characters are fantastic and I love the story line. Quinten is undercover but surprise, he sees his best friends baby sister right in the middle of a power keg. To keep his cover he tells the Rudnikov Mob Boss that she’s his fiancee. Who knew that they would have to marry at gun point to prove their loyalty. The relationship between Becca and Quinten was off the charts.. There is drama, danger, violence, murder and keeping one step ahead of the bad guys. Highly recommend. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Becca is an artist and has her own gallery with a manager. Quinten is a cop and her brother’s best friend. They both last met at her brother’s wedding and danced together there. When Becca decides to visit her gallery one day. She opens one of the boxes that has been delivered and finds bundles of cocaine. Before she can phone the police she is held at gunpoint by her female manager. When she is taken to see the crime lord, she finds that Quinten is there also as one of his henchmen. Oh boy. Does the s….t hit the fan from here. Kidnapped. Guns. Big, bad guards for the crime lord. One gorgeous cop. One beautiful woman. A safe house or two. Doms. Submissive. Wow, this book sure had it all and I loved it from start to finish. Darn, can this author ever write a winner. Love her work.
Quinten is working undercover to investigate the mob but when he finds family friend Becca and is forced to marry her to prove his loyalty it is not a hardship. He knows he has to do everything he can to protect her and also get the information he needs. They have some hot chemistry together but can they manage to get out of this situation together.
This is the third book in this wonderful series that is both dark and gritty and inspiring at the same time I have loved every one of them and if you haven’t read the previous two do yourself a favour and grab them
This is Becca and Quinten’s story. He is a undercover cop working a drug smuggling case she is tangled in the scene as her art gallery is been used by the mob. He claims that she is his fiancee and they are forced to marry by the mob Now he has to handle the fact that he is married and wants his best friends little sister. Can they have a future or is it all just pretend You will have to read to see
This was a great story. It was well written and fast paced. The chemistry between the characters was sizzling hot. This book has everything you need to keep you turning pages hot sexy men, steamy scenes and some conflict thrown in. I cannot wait for what this author writes next.

A fast paced exciting addition to the series. Becca is placed
in a bad situation by her Gallery manager and when she meets
the Russian mob boss, a familuar face is among his entourage.
Quentin is undercover and trying to protect Becca claims they
are fighting lovers. They are forced to marry immediately and
a very dangerous escape to save their lives begins. There is so
much that happens and so many feelings involved, the danger
is always first on their minds but they find plenty of time to feel
the irrisistable pull of attraction for each other. I will not summarize
the book, but do encourage you to read this hot, action packed
story of a possible submissive forced to be with and experienced
Dom who both feel an attraction to each other while running for
their lives.
What a super story. I will now have to read the first two books in this series if they are as good as this one. Very gritty and passionate story super sexy scenes in the dungeon and a wonderful storyline full of mystery. Look forward to reading more like this from this talented author.

Crescent City Kings book 3, this is Becca and Quinten’s story. The only reason they’re together right now is that she sees something she shouldn’t and a mobster wants her dead. Becca thinks she’s submissive and she wants to explore the life. She’s beautiful and sexy, but more importantly, she’s his best friend’s baby sister. Off limits. Can police officer Quinten keep Becca safe without going there? This is a hot hot read.

When Summers is firing on all cylinders, she writes fabulous Dom/sub BDSM romances. And the middle part of The Right to Remain Silent is a BDSM cabin romance, with the hero and heroine on the run and exploring each other’s sexual interests while in hideout. Unfortunately, the setup to get them into the situation in the first part of this book is a real drawback.
The concept is that Quinten and Becca are forced to marry by a mob boss after she inadvertently stumbles on evidence that her art gallery is being used to front his drug operations. Quinten, an undercover cop deep into the mob’s operations, says he’ll marry her to ensure her cooperation with the continued use of her gallery.
Except…you need a license to have a legal marriage. And in many places, including Louisiana (where this book is set), there’s a waiting period as well (yes, I checked). Anything else is just a show. So when this crime lord gets a priest to marry them and sign a marriage certificate, that’s nice, but it’s not binding legally. And this might have been able to be fixed if there was some sort of reference to the mob boss using his connections to get a retroactive license faked, but there’s nothing like that. For the rest of the book, when there were references to marriage and getting a divorce and such, I couldn’t buy it.
After this, Quinten works to get Becca set up with his DEA officer in a safe house—because Becca disappearing right after Quinten marries her wouldn’t look suspicious at all. If, as one of the mob boss’s goons, he wanted her gone, why volunteer to marry her? This made no sense to me. Expressing that he’d like to sleep with her before the boss gets rid of her, yes. But marriage—and then her disappearance? I was hard pressed to understand how he’d justify that and keep his cover intact.
Anyway, Quinten has suspected for a while that there’s a mole in the police department getting information to this mob boss. Quinten, supposedly deep undercover for a long time to work his way into the mob boss’s good graces, goes into his superior officer’s office **with two other vice officers present** and proceeds to update them on what happened with this wedding. At this point, I started rolling my eyes, because what he did made no sense. It’s one thing to start planting false information among your fellow officers to see if the lie makes it back to the mob boss and reveals the rat. It’s another thing entirely to tell these officers the truth and put the heroine at further risk.
A lot of this convoluted plotting (and I’m not giving anything away that doesn’t happen before the 20% mark) is there to get these two on the run together, both needing to be in hiding. And once the hiding commences, the middle part of the book is Summers’ excellent writing of a Dom and sub (which Summers nicely establishes early, so it does flow organically from the characters) discovering one another. But it couldn’t make up for the multiple pretzels that were the first part of this book’s plot. Add on an ending where the bad guy is the stereotype who wants to talk to the heroes and share why he did what he did, and I ended up just frustrated.
Frustrated because that middle section was wonderful, with lots of pushing and pulling and both characters making mistakes as they tried to figure out what they could and couldn’t be to one another. Summers excels in this, and The Right to Remain Silent is no exception. That’s what gave this book three stars for me. It lost the others to a plot setup I’m still trying to muddle my way through in my mind. I’d suggest starting later in the book with Summers’ forte and skip the setup. They’re in hiding from bad guys. That’s all you need to know.
The other two books in the Crescent City Kings series are excellent, and I highly recommend them. Let’s hope future books in this series return to that form!
A wellwritten and fastpaced book with an actionpacked storyline and intriguing characters. This is a real gem!

3.5 Stars
The story line was great, the character work was good, and the book had a fairly smooth flow to it. The book was entertaining, but I was unable to connect to the characters for some reason.

I loved it! These dominants present in Anya Summers books are just delicious protective, alpha and so whicked! And, of course, danger is always near.
Once I started, i did not stop for even a minute.
I loved it! Really hot.

The Right to Remain Silent is the third book in the Crescent City Kings series, but could be read as a stand alone. Becca has trusted the wrong person and now her life is in danger. Luckily her brother’s best friend comes to her rescue, but while they can’t help their attraction, the danger is closing in on them. Do Becca and Quinten have a future together, or is their connection just fueled by their circumstances?
Wow! What a book! I was hooked right from the very beginning and Becca and Quinten’s passion and rush for safety completely swept me off my feet! This book is definitely fast paced with a lot going on, including mob bosses, dirty cops, an unplanned marriage, and enough of a steamy connection that will have your pages burning! Becca is such a strong character, one to jump first, but gives her whole heart and leaves little to regret. I loved her willingness to try new things and submit fully to Quinten, body and heart. Quinten was interesting to me because he has such a dominant nature, one to protect and stick to the rules, but he carried around so much guilt from his past that he refused to see the goodness that was right in front of him. For being a Master Dom and always in control, he just didn’t know what to do when faced with someone else’s love and comfort. I really enjoyed their connection, though, and how they dealt with the danger and (mostly) with their emotions. I very much enjoyed reading this book, have been loving this series, and am already looking forward to what may come next in this series!
I think this makes it official; I’m in love with this series. The only thing I might love more than a military hero is a first responder, so Officer Quinten Blackthorne of the NOPD was like catnip to me. I’m not sure what it was about Becca that called to me, but she did. Whether it was her need to find herself, to prove herself, or if was just that streak of fierce independence, I found it very easy to connect with Becca. Though, there were a couple of moments of “too stupid to live” that made me want to reach into my reader and smack her. Quinten repeatedly tried to break my heart. I loved seeing the care and the lengths he went to in order to introduce Becca to the Lifestyle, but the way he holds his heart back – and the reason for it – made me so sad. I adored seeing this pair get their happy ending. Now I’m dying to find out who and what comes next.
