After being cleaned out by her bigamist embezzling husband, socially awkward academic Tru Stanhope finds herself with one remaining asset: a dive bar in the podunk town of Brazen Bay. Well, half a bar. The other half is owned by the infuriatingly hot Nash McKendrick. He doesn’t want to sell and he really doesn’t want his once silent business partner to have anything to do with his one true … love–the pub.
Nash liked his solitary life just fine before highbrow and pretentious Tru brought trouble, and her little yappy dog, to darken his door. She may be intellectual, but she knows nothing about the real world and shockingly less about men. He’s pretty sure he can handle the mousy little scholar, he just needs to figure out what makes her tick. She’s just a woman, after all. And women tend to fall all over themselves around him. He’ll just lay on the charm, sweet talk her into doing what he wants, and send her on her way to a life better suited for her so he can get back to his.
But Tru has different ideas. She’s tired of the sheltered life she’s lived until now. She wants to experience real passion, a real career, and a real purpose in life. And she’s decided Nash is going to help her with all three.
Author Confession: Nash could have any woman he wanted, so I deliberately gave him the one he doesn’t want. Because authors are evil and I like trouble. I hope you enjoy the opposites attract trope as much as I love writing it. This is book #2 in the Love in Brazen Bay series, but they are standalone. HEA guaranteed.

I enjoyed this so much! Nash and Tru are just the right amount of sexy and funny. Tru is everything Nash didn’t want but certainly needed. This is hilarious, sweet and steamy! I couldn’t stop laughing. But I also felt the chemistry and the connection and was left panting. I enjoyed this so much and it was great seeing more of this town from the first book and getting to see past characters as well. I can’t wait for the next one!

This was a charming, endearing, amusing, sweet, steamy story about surviving with dignity and enjoying the lemonade that life’s lemons provided.

This is book yo in the Brazen Bay series. It can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading book one. Meet Gertrude and Nash in book two. Nash is 40% owner of the Ironwing which is a bar in Brazen Bay named after his father’s band. Gertrude is a socialite that has lived a sheltered life, suffered great loss and lastly ended up married to the wrong man who walks out on her after two years with everything but 60% ownership of a bar in a small town. Gertrude whirls into Nash’s life and up roots it by moving in and wanting to take over and/or sell the bar on him. This is the start of how two people, who swear off love and relationships end up miserable for a short time. Well written story with a little more inside on some characters that will make great books some day. I cannot wait for Stella.

This author does it again with another swoon worthy read that had me loving my alphamellows. Tru ends up meeting Nash when her bigamist husband cleans her out and the only thing left is the bar that Nash owns, actually partially owns since Tru is a partner. Tru doesn’t have any true friends and is socially awkward but the patrons, friends and family of Nash, accept her and become more to her than anyone in her past. The two bump heads and bump in the night as well but all the bumping has Nash running scared and Tru leaving…how will it all end.
Oh my a great read with steam and of course humour that had me chuckling throughout the story. I LOVED these two and even though there was bit more drama than what I’m used to between the couple (Nash being stubborn) I was worried that it would take away from the story and what I LOVE about this author….but it worked. The story flowed beautifully, the characters were amazing, especially the twist with the other wife, and I can’t wait for more.
*I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
It was a quick read with lots of heat, angst and romance. Tru and Nash were great characters and so realistic. Once I got started, I didn’t want to stop. It was a really good book. If you pick this up, you won’t be disappointed. I can’t wait to see what happens next in Brazen Bay.

“And now I’m free.”
My mind, ovaries, and heart exploded with those 4 words.
Brill Harper. A name im not going to forget for a long while. I will be binge reading any and all of the books of her I can get ahold of. If they even come close to being as perfectly amazing as this book was…whoa.
I HIGHLY recommend this book.
Happy reading!

Tru and Nash, gawd what can I say about these two?
Tru has been burned by a man she thought was good but ended up being very bad.
Nash has closed himself off from relationships because he grew up with a mom who used and lied his how life.
When Tru shows up at Ironwing and informs him she’s his silence partner. His whole world is turned upside. Tru and Nash are like two storms and when they combine things get messy.
Nash pulls away and Tru pulls farther. It will take their friends meddling to get them back on the same page.
I totally fell in love with these two crazy kids, there story was unique and cute and totally addictive.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. I really loved this story. You have Nash who owns 40% of a bar and the 60%is owned by an old lady who he has never met. Tru thought she was married except she finds out she has lost everything because her “husband” stole everything and was already married. After selling everthing she has to pay his taxes she goes to take over a bar that she owns 60% of. She doesn’t expect to meet Nash and she doesn’t expect to develop feeling for him or their customers.
This was a really sweet, sexy opposites attract story. The characters were well developed and relatable.
Tru Standhope is shy, socially awkward, very naive, and had her inheritance stolen by her bigamist husband. The only thing left is a part ownership of Ironwing, a dive bar. Nash McKendrick owns the other piece of the bar and has been running it for years without interference from his silent partner. Tru hits town looking to sell her part of the bar and ends up living in Nash’s apartment above the bar. They fall into a sexual relationship that morphs into feelings, which he fight against tooth and nail. They eventually get together and have their HEA.

Tru and Nash are the best!! I loved book 1 but I think Nash and Tru are my favorites, well so far lol. She shows at Nash’s bar, well her bar too, with intent to sell. Their chemistry is off the charts but neither want a relationship for different reasons. Another hit from the fabulous Brill Harper!
