When Echo Farren boarded the plane bound for her wedding in her hometown of Lake George, NY she was filled with excitement and joy. That was until she got a text message from her fiancée just as her flight reached cursing altitude that he would not be attending their wedding. To make matters worse, Echo has to find out from a local fireman who used to be her high school sweetheart that her father … father is up to eyeballs in debt over this wedding.
With only two weeks to go before the big day, Echo does her best to stall, hoping to get her fiancée to either change his mind, or fork over some cash to help her father. Only neither one is going to happen.
Spencer Bryant has been in love with Echo Farren his entire life, but when she made him chose between her and his family, he had to let her go. But now that she was back he was going to do whatever it took to show her that he’s always been the only man for her and that he was the right groom.

Another great addition to the First Responder series. Echo Farren and Spencer Bryant were meant for each other…then suddenly they weren’t. Echo is returning to Lake George for her wedding where Spencer, her former lover lives. They are still friends, right? Only everything is not right as her fiancé seems to be changing his mind, her parents are planning a large and expensive wedding for them, and Echo doesn’t know what to do. Spencer has always been there for Echo, but can he help her now? Spencer still loves Echo, but is it really too late for them or could he be the right groom after all? A beautiful and emotional second chance at love. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation from the author. (by paytonpuppy)
A second chance with extra drama. Spencer and Echo truly are star-crossed lovers. They were always meant to be from a very early age, but pride, stubbornness, and hurt feelings caused them to lose their way. I had so much fun watching them rekindle their spark, and it felt very realistic that they still managed to muck up the process even when they were trying to (finally) get it right. The ending is so unbelievably adorable, my eyes misted up over the sweetness.
Echo is back home to help finalise her whirlwind wedding but things are not going to plan, her groom hasn’t turned up and the message he sent doesn’t bode well, her ex Spence looks as good as ever and the pressure of whats going to happen to her wedding is pushing on her. Echo infuriated me at times as she was so in denial as to what was happening not only with Andrew but also Spencer but I was also always rooting for Spencer cause well he is hot and so sweet! This is a great read about growing up and realising what you really want as well as that nothing beats a great family and friends and oh wow both Spencer and Echo’s family are freaking hilarious!!
I enjoyed reading this sweet second chance romance between Echo and Spencer. Love how I can just jump in and the story comes alive. Also love when authors include the other members of the families. You could tell from the first page until the end that they had a special friendship. I love a wide variety of stories and this one is in the top.
Echo and Spencer grew up from toddlers on as a couple that everyone expected to marry. When her desire to be a traveling nurse and leave Lake George breaks up the relationship she was heartbroken but felt Spencer must not love her and she moved on, or did she? When her family helps plan a whirlwind wedding after an equally whirlwind romance, what is she to do when she gets a text from her fiancé breaking up while flying home. Spencer is there to help her through the fiasco of telling her family that the wedding is off, and to convince her that he is the right groom. Love second chances.
This was a romance that made you believe in second chances and that was meant to happen in life always would no matter what happened in between Like all Jen’s books it flowed well and was a pleasure to read
Echo is heading home to get ready for her wedding when on the plane she received the text that all brides fear her Fiancee is calling off the wedding he no longer loves her if he ever did. Unable to handle the shame of what has happened she keeps it a secret from her family hoping that her fancier will change his mind Meanwhile she is having to deal with been back in the comapny of the one man she always loved Spencer a man that wouldn’t uproot his life when she decided to leave town so causing them to break up. Will these two proud people admit that they really are meant for one another and that now is their time What will Spencer do when her fiancee arrives deciding that he wants the wedding to go ahead You will have to read to see who Echo will marry.
This is book 3 in the First Responders series and can absolutely be read as a stand alone. Spencer and Echo grew up together and were high school sweethearts. They thought they would spend their lives together, until Echo found she wanted something more than their small hometown and they couldn’t find a solution that would make them both happy and stay together. Now Echo is back home to get married-to someone else. When the unthinkable happens, can Spencer make Echo realize that he has always been her one? Or will they lose each other yet again?
This is one of those touching, feel good stories. I truly liked both characters. Echo is this woman who had dreams and chose to follow them, even though it cost her one of the people that she loved. She isn’t malicious, and she wasn’t trying to hurt anyone but she also knew she needed to be who she was too. Spencer is this sweet, stand up man who knew that he couldn’t follow her and have his own dreams. So he chose to let her go and hope she would come back one day. He didn’t believe it would happen, but he always subconsciously hoped that it would. Together they are perfect! They truly care about each other and want each other to be happy, even if it’s not with them. My only downside to this? I really wanted to see something happen or some sort of consequences for the man she was supposed to marry. That portion of the book seemed a little rushed and I am all about bad people getting what they deserve LOL! Otherwise, this was definitely a great read for me!
Sometimes the timing just isn’t right even though you know you’ve met the love of your life. Echo left town to pursue her dream career of being a traveling nurse, but Spencer wasn’t willing to leave Lake George. Years later Echo returns to get married to Andy, her attorney fiance, in her home town. Things don’t go as planned right from the moment Echo’s plane lands. Now she has to get through the next two weeks keeping a secret and avoiding her attraction for her first love Spencer. This was an inspiring story showing you can meet up with people in your past (as long as it was a healthy relationship), become friends and maybe more. The characters were relatable and real. I enjoyed the story very much.
The Right Groom is a beautiful story of love, family, friendships and second chances. Spencer Bryant has been in love with Echo Farren his entire life, but difficult circumstances has Echo walking away and choosing to love someone else. When Echo fiancé bails on her Spencer decides its time to make Echo see he is the perfect groom. Follow along to find out how this story unfolds.
I received an ARC for an honest review.
This was a wonderful story. It was charming and really sweet. It reconnected old loves and somehow seemed to be okay in the end. The thought – love conquers all is interwoven throughout. What more could we want? There were firefighters (sexy ones) and small town life (everyone knows everything and always have). Echo, the heroine, and Spencer, the lost love, have some funny scenes. I like life experiences that are peppered with humor. The emotions ran the full gamut. Just know, there is a HEA and this book was a nice moment out of time. Pick it up, read it, enjoy a break in your life. It is well worth the time. And when you are done – go see some of the other stories from Ms. Talty.
Echo is on the flight to her hometown of Lake George when she receives a text from her fiancé. He’s calling off the wedding and says he never loved her. After the initial shock, Echo decides it’s merely cold feet and continues with the plans in place.
Spencer is Echo’s ex-boyfriend, they had been together since they were no more than children. Growing up together, dating all through high school and even college. Unfortunately when Echo decided to be a traveling nurse, Spencer couldn’t and wouldn’t follow her. A fire-fighter can’t jump from job to job across the county on a whim and he has no desire to leave Lake George and his family.
Funny how fate often steps in, Spencer is still in love with Echo and he is always the person she can confide in. It doesn’t help matters that both their parents want them to spend time together.
Echo does plenty of soul searching and comes up with the right answers just in time for the illusive Andy to show up. Spencer is her rock and so much more as they both realize their parents are right.
Plenty of fun, laughter, tears and some sizzling heat make this a page turning read.
I can’t wait for then next installment in this series.
Second chance romance. Echo has come home for her dream wedding only to get a text from the groom on the plane that he’s not coming. She doesn’t want to tell her family yet in case he changes his mind and her father has spent so much on the wedding. She turns to Spencer who was her first love and he helps her try and figure out what she wants to do. Will Echo and Spencer get their HEA he has loved her all along. This is a quick read and very enjoyable.
A beautiful second chance romance. Finding the right groom is very important. Echo Farren and Spencer Bryant were destined to be together until they weren’t. Their lives took different paths. Echo comes home to be married only to be jilted. Spencer listens to Echo and keeps her secrets. I love the characters. Realistic and believable. Loveable and True.
Thee Right Groom
Jen Talty
A sweet 2nd chance romance with characters you root for throughout the book. Loved Spencer and Echo and how they reacted to each other when thrown together again. Because of an upsetting event, Echo has to figure out how to deal with it. Luckily her ex boyfriend is there to help.
Will there be a happy ending? A quick relaxing read.
It’s the wedding of her dreams – but what about the groom of her dreams?
There are so many signs that Spencer and Echo still love each other – but Echo is not admitting it. There is no doubt that the blurb on this book will hook you in – and believe me, the content doesn’t disappoint. That Echo’s fiancé is a jerk is indisputable – but it’s the families of the two main characters that, to me, really make this book. There’s a delightful moment where one of the fathers points out that they spent much of their time when Spencer and Echo were younger trying NOT to catch them, and that really says it all about support and empathy. Anything else about this book would be a spoiler, and I enjoyed it too much to ruin it for another reader. It’s a quick and delightful read, and a definite one-click.
I received a free copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily.
This third book in the series is definitely a stand alone. Not having read the previous stories, I had no problems following the plot.
This story centers around Echo Farren and Spencer Bryant. These two were best friends during their childhood and each others first in everything…best friends, first kiss, first relationship etc. until the day Echo decided she wanted adventure, and Spencer wanted to stay close to home.
Four years later she’s back for her wedding to a man from Atlanta, but things are not as they should be and suddenly she finds herself in a pile of lies and turning to Spencer for help.
Will they find their HEA after all, or will this be their final good-bye?
Once again this talented author excelled in giving the reader an engaging story and complex characters in just a few pages. A feat few authors can do successfully.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
This is echo’s and Spencer’s story. They dated and were in love while in school and after. But when she got ready to go to college they both wanted different things, but they still loved each other. Well she’s come back home to get married but things change. This is the first book I’ve read in this series. HEA.
