The Revenge Games Duet is made up of two stories: Kicking Reality & Bad Boy Rich.
Kicking Reality is the love-triangle story between Emerson, Wes, and Logan. Emerson and Wes are a reality-show, engaged couple who recently have had their troubles. But, she finds the return of her childhood and twin brother’s best friend, Logan, to help her cope with their troubles and actually finds she can no longer resist Logan. Problems arise when their chemistry gets more serious, but they cannot be public with their affair. Will they come public? Will it destroy their lives and separate them from their loved ones? Great story with some great chemistry and characters!
Bad Rich Boy is Wes’ story. This story picks up a few years after where Kicking Reality leaves off. Wes is still the bad boy and will find the woman who will tame him! Full of angst and sass!
Loved both of these stories!
The Revenge Games Duet is the perfect combination of two books that before reading I thought I had clue as to what I getting into…Turns out a clue I did not have! Kicking Reality & Bad Boy Rich; both such unique reads & I enjoyed both of these books immensely. I hope you enjoy reading them too!
Kicking Reality: What a drama filled read! Emerson’s world is turned upside down when she finds out that her fiance and reality TV costar has been unfaithful to her. So she decides to go back to her hometown to escape all of the media drama and be with her family. Falling for her brothers best friend definitely was not in the plans. This book was jam packed full of all the angsty goodness, sadness, heartbreak, laughs, a hilarious twin brother & some seriously fabulous chemistry!
Bad Boy Rich: This book surprised me…this was a fast paced read full of unexpected angst, a really really hard to love MC and all the feels! This was not your typical “Bad Boy” read for sure and I really enjoyed it.
Emerson is a tv reality star that’s engaged to co star Wesley and is used to having her life dictated to her by her team. Living her life in front of the cameras is harder and more scripted than it looks and she’s growing to dislike it. On a rare trip back home, she spends some time with her brother and their childhood friend Logan. Growing up the three of them were always together and up to mischief and I loved how they were when they were back together. I liked the family dynamics in this book. Emersons family reacts like my own would probably do and I loved the close bond she shares with her mum.
Professional footballer Logan comes across as a bit of a man whore but he does have a heart in there somewhere. When Emerson gets some shocking news, Logan is there to help take her mind off it. With a love hate relationship, thousands of miles between them and Emersons personal life imploding, the last thing she needs is this new sexual chemistry between them.
Wesley is the stereotypical troubled bad boy with a large dose of attitude. But there’s more to him than he shows. I’m probably in the minority but the more I got to know Wesley, the more I found myself liking him. Sometimes I got the feeling a lot of his attitude/actions were just for show and he has a surprisingly sweet side that he doesn’t show to many people. Thrown into the spotlight hasn’t been easy for him to deal with and I think deep down he’s lonely and desperate for company/an escape/to be treated ‘normal’. There’s a vulnerability about Wesley that drew me to him and even when he was blowing hot and cold, there was still something that intrigued me about him.
I’ve read all Kat T Masens other books and the one thing that I love about Kat’s characters is that they’re real. They have flaws and bad habits just like we do. They make mistakes and you’re not going to like them all the time. There’s going to be times you get frustrated, when you roll your eyes, when you want to shake some sense into them. And that’s what makes it so much easier to connect with them. Full of angst (and some pretty messed up characters), this is another great book from Ms Masen that I found hard to put down.
