The third volume in J.R.R. Tolkien’s epic adventure THE LORD OF THE RINGS One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them As the Shadow of Mordor grows across the land, the Companions of the Ring have become involved in separate adventures. Aragorn, revealed as the hidden heir of the ancient Kings of the West, has joined with the Riders … the West, has joined with the Riders of Rohan against the forces of Isengard, and takes part in the desperate victory of the Hornburg. Merry and Pippin, captured by Orcs, escape into Fangorn Forest and there encounter the Ents. Gandalf has miraculously returned and defeated the evil wizard, Saruman. Sam has left his master for dead after a battle with the giant spider, Shelob; but Frodo is still alive–now in the foul hands of the Orcs. And all the while the armies of the Dark Lord are massing as the One Ring draws ever nearer to the Cracks of Doom.

Wonderful – far better than the movie. And the end is near perfect, joy and sorrow at the same time,
Read all four books to get the whole savor, but the last is the best!
Tolkien began my love of Fantasy. Middle Earth has become another home and his characters my family. Breathe it in and live a better life.
Have read the whole series plus the Hobbit and seen all the movies. Am a great fan of Tolkien’s writing. Great for anyone who likes stories of elves, dwarfs & goblins. Tolkien takes you into a fantasy land.
I feel like this book is amazing for people who like fantasy. You can enter yourself in this world of Hobbits, Men, Elves, Dwarves and Orcs!
The final book in the Lord of the rings trilogy, sets up the reader for the “Silmarillion” that will give background on characters and history of middle earth.
Inspirational
The all-time, can’t-miss classic.
Love the descriptions and the twists the story has. Love the pace of the writing on this volume of the trilogy. In my opinion, a great development of the story.
Fantastic read. The movie is good also, but the book is so much better!
Don’t miss reading this classic tale of Middle Earth.
The whole trilogy are some of the most epic, classic fantasy novels that exist.
Loved the book so much! Such a great book! 😀
4 of 5 stars to The Return of the King, the third book in the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy, written in 1955, by J.R.R. Tolkien. After reading the first two books in this series, how can you not finish it with this one? I knocked them back between 9th and 10th grades, loving every minute of the imagination and struggle between good and evil. When I …
Epic. Makes reader regret there aren’t even more Tolkien books. Sets an unequaled standard for intelligent world building and character development
The fantasy world of Tolkien is legendary and of course, one of the best ever written in its genre. Very descriptive and written at a very slow and relaxing pace is something maybe not meant for everyone, but it was perfect for me. Of course I remember this novel to everyone.
The 3rd book in the Lotd if the Rings Trilogy . I re-read the Hobbit & the Trilogy every 3 years since I was 12.
One of the best ever written !
My favorite author
Well, it took me a while to finally get around to rereading this final installment of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, but I did it. So, how is the Return of the King on the second read?
Damn good.
God, but I do love Tolkien’s world building and his ability to create such vivid, descriptive, emotional language. Whether he’s describing a battle for …
The Lord of the Rings trilogy and its prequel The Hobbit are hands down the best fantasy fiction ever. To read Tolkien is to be sucked out of your chair into the middle of the best adventure of all time.
I loved the whole Tolkein trilogy (including the fourth, The Hobbit). Read them all several times. Great escape reading.
The best ever
