“Master of the macabre” Bentley Little is back with an irresistible invitation…Welcome to The Resort. The Reata is an exclusive spa isolated in the Arizona desert—a perfect getaway from the city for people like Lowell Thurman and his family, booked for a relaxing five-day retreat. But what unfolds is anything but tranquil…unnerving encounters with strange employees, wild parties in empty … employees, wild parties in empty rooms, something unspeakable in the pool. Then one by one, guests begin disappearing. The Thurmans are afraid—because out in the middle of nowhere, with no escape, and no one to hear them scream, they’re left with only one terrifying choice: unlock the dark secrets of The Reata themselves before the real carnage begins.

Bentley Little writes the best horror/thriller novels ever! The Resort was right on par with his other novels. A great page-turner as well as a great horror story!
Bentley Little’s strange (but impressive) imagination is unparalleled in its ability to find and deliver terror in the most complacent and comfortable places. He’s one of the few writers who can give me nightmares, and THE RESORT, in particular, emblazoned some very creepy-cool and eerily bizarre images onto my mind that, years later, are still terribly vivid.
I laughed, I shuddered, I kinda wished I’d read it in daylight hours. Five stars.
What a twisted little read this was! It starts off nicely as a family is about to embark on vacation but then little things start to happen. At first, it is not enough to worry about but it just keeps getting stranger and stranger. By the end, I was definitely on the edge of my seat. I will admit I did cry over that ending it truly struck me right in the heart. I truly loved this twisted tale.
