Not all fairytales end in happily-ever-after…Sebastian “Wolf” Wood. Former soldier. Medic. Loveable, loyal…and lethal. He knows better than anyone that appearances can be deceiving and he has no problem exploiting his cover-model good looks to get what he wants, especially when it’s for the success of a mission. He’s done it before, he’ll do it again—until the one mission where the tables get … where the tables get turned by a storybook beauty whose bite is worse than her bark and who leaves him trying to figure out what’s real—and what’s an illusion.
Peyton Richards is getting a second chance at her big break—a chance most people would kill for. But her excitement at making a comeback is overshadowed by her irrational attraction to the man hired to watch over her—a man who looks like he’d be more at home on a California beach than as a bodyguard. A man who seems to relish butting heads and irritating her at every turn while stealing kisses that leave her breathless. A man who’s entirely too comfortable in a glittering world where everyone is pretending to be someone else.
When a publicity stunt goes terribly wrong and it becomes obvious that someone wants Peyton out of the picture—permanently—it’s up to Sebastian to keep her safe. To do that, he needs to breach her defenses and show her that it’s what you can’t see that’s real—and if he fails, it’s only a matter of time before the game of fantasy and make-believe lures them into a nightmarish hell of lies, deceit…and death.

Lisa Kamps hit this one out of the park! I love all her books, but I think “The Rescuer: Wolf” is my favorite! Wolf and Peyton’s story is a suspenseful, sexy, love story that made me laugh and cry! I loved every minute of it! I can’t wait to read the stories of the other Cover Six Security characters!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I love the Cover Six Security and this book was fantastic!
What should have been an easy security job turn into so much more!
Sebastian (Wolf) Wood was suppose to be bodyguard for “princess” Peyton. It should have been easy but things aren’t always as they seem.
With drama, suspense, danger, intrigue and romance you get one fantastic story! Lisa has written another great book in the Cover Six Security series! I can’t wait for the next book!
I always enjoyed reading Lisa’s stories and the men of Cover Six Security has captured my interest from the start. This time we get a look at Sebastian a.k.a. Wolf.
I thought I had figured out the who done it early on, but as usual a twist which kept my interest going.
I always find the characters interesting and the chemistry great between the two main characters.
Overall I recommend this series if you like intrigue, adventure combined with romance.
A +
4 1/2 stars. What a great series this has been so far and Wolf certainly keeps that going. Lisa Kamps has given us such a wonderful group at Cover Six Security. Each story and the characters in it always leaves me wanting more because they are just entertaining and enjoyable. Peyton needs a bodyguard or at least that is what the job is. She does not feel like she needs nor does she want a bodyguard. It’s going to be a rough 2 weeks for Sebastian aka Wolf. His surfer dude looks got him this assignment and he is way less than thrilled about it. He definitely does not want to be babysitting a diva princess actress. But all is not as it seems for this job or between Wolf and Peyton. This is such a suspenseful and sexy read I simply could not put it down!
it was to be a simple job. Security for two weeks. Boom. Done. But not everyone is as they seem. This story has a little feel of “the butler with the candlestick in the library”! Sounds totally different from the previous Cover Six Security stories, but never fear cause, “another one bites the dust”! Interesting characters (what can I say when so many are acting?!?), story takes place in a relatively small geographical area and the physical attraction ignites! This has been a most enjoyable series! I sure hope there’s more!
