A fast story that has good vs evil. He is a guardian and will do his job to protect this world with his last breath. Being immortal should mean that’s not a problem. But the touch of Pesta can mean death for even him. She is a sweet Gaia witch. She is light to his dark, sweet to his rough. She is also needed to stop another evil trying to destroy the world. The story is filled with action. The romance is very light and sweet.
Good plot that had me from the first word to the last.
The chemistry and action between the characters is well developed and interesting.

Wonderfully fantastic… The book was amazing… It had a lot of details and juicy scenes to it… The characters and their personalities match them perfectly… The plot and the storyline was very descriptive and amazing…
The Rescue by Lola Gabriel is the third stand alone book in the Chosen series. In this book, Amelia a Gaia witch is attacked in her home, knocked unconscious, and wakes up bound in chains in the library of her home going up in flames around her. As she desperately tries to escape a man comes charging in grabs her and jumps through a window to save them from burning to death. Once they are clear of the flames he unchains her and tells her to follow him if she wants to live. This is the beginning of an amazing adventure in which a Gaia witch and Aegir, a dragon-shifter guardian work together to save each other and the world. This story is a magical adventure filled with danger and two very different souls who are meant to be together. If you like epic magical adventure and interesting characters you will love this book as much as I do. The Rescue is an epic magical tale of two people who save each other.
Aegir is a dragon guardian who must stop the demons, who have escaped from the Pit, from resurrecting an ancient evil dragon. I enjoyed reading this book as it fits in so well with the others in the Chosen series. Aegir finds love with the Gaia witch he rescues, although Gaia witches are the mortal enemies of dragons. A good plot with a lovely pair of lovers in Aegir and Amelia.
Amelia, a young witch, was brought up by a father who was nearly a recluse – for a reason. After his death only his library remains. One day, after a long day of unpleasant visions, she is attacked and nearly killed. Her rescuer is Aegir, a mythical dragon shifter guardian. Together they need to fight against an enemy who had fled from the rift – a prison for the worst of the paranormal beings.
A great start into a series called the Chosen it combines fantasy and Nordic mythology into an entertaining, yet thrilling mix.

What a captivating new paranormal romance from Lola Gabriel. Ameila is a Gaia witch who has been tasked with protecting her late father’s library while also being plagued with visions of a golden weapon. Aegir is a dragon who can control the weather and a Guardian sworn to protect the human world from dangerous imprisoned creatures. When they meet Amelia must trust that Aegir will keep her save from a rogue dragon. they are both thrown in the fight of their lives to put an end to the rogue dragon Fefnir and his accomplice Pestra. The Rescue is a fantastically captivating story filled with danger, near death experiences, trust, passionate kisses, attraction, and love. Readers will be sucked into this world of dragons, witches, and a near apocalypse with wonderful character readers will fall in love with like a brooding, alpha male dragon and a sweet yet secretly courageous young woman. I loved this book and can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
Not a good start to the day. Aegir, dragon, controller of weather, last of the Guardians must protect the world from the World Serpent. He believes he is fighting for a losing cause, but he perseveres. Pesta, took his immortality, so going forward he is further challenged. Amelia, opens the door to a stranger, who introduced himself as Fefnir a friend of her father’s, is attacked and knocked unconscious. When she awakens, she is chained in the library which is on fire. Suddenly a man rushes in and rescues her. He tries to convince her to go underground and remain presumed dead to protect herself from Fenfir. She questions trusting him. She finally questions everything. Aegir, was walking a tightrope with what to or not tell Amelia. Will they find a moment of trust? Will they suceed in their mission? Can Aegir get Amelia on his side? Will Pesta prevail? There were always questions in this story, not enough answers for questions. Nice story, but needed more substance. She trusts the wrong person and ends, almost killed, with nothing. She is saved by an unknown man who claims to keep her alive if she goes with him. Can she trust this man?
Before she knows it, she gets sucked into a world full of creatures that she only knows from stories and never thought they were real.
Her life is still at stake when she is chased by a dwarf and Granny Death. Together with Aegir, Amelia manages to save the world from its downfall through its creative, intuitive solutions.
I searched for clues that could be a link to the other part in this series The Choosen but the only similarity I found is that both female lead roles are Gaia witches

This is the second book in a series called The Chosen but there is really no obvious connection between these stories except for the heroes are gorgeous. In the beginning I was afraid our heroine was going to be another dumb one, but she is really naive and trusting. I found the story to be interesting with some action but not alot of sex. Some things could have been explained in more depth, but I liked Amelia and Aegir and was looking for their HEA. Nice read.

Amelia’s day went from good to worse. Shes being sought after but does not know why. Aegir is the last guardian to try to stop some of the most evil creatures. These two learn to lean on each other in the time in need.

The author paints good visuals in her descriptions of the environment and action events and I have to say there were a number of unexpected surprises as I read. The hero is unexpectedly “clutzy” in some tense spots, almost comic and I think that is clever.
The book is a quick read for those familiar with her world. I would have liked a little more detail on her past and others in this world.

Wow the action started on the first page and didn’t stop till the end. I loved it, liked the way Aegir wanted to protect Amelia though she did a lot of protecting herself. Loved how her brain works.

Well worth reading!
I read the synopsis and was enthralled that another Gaia witch was going to be the main character. However I was so disappointed. Everything in the book was all inner monologues for about 80% of the book. The very few conversations that took place between Amelia and Aegir were few short comments here and there. There was no way to develop any kind of feeling towards the characters. I got plenty of descriptions of the landscape, views, and places but nothing else. I could see the world around the characters but no character building was involved. It was nice to have the different POVs but both were just analyzing the situation and describing the other person. The chances where the inner thoughts could’ve been replaced by actual dialogue, were shortened by an uncertain time frame. There’s one PG13 scene where they are actually kissing then get interrupted and then that’s it. There’s nothing else involving romance in the book. With such a HUGE buildup as to the apocalypse happening, the final fight scene was anticlimactic and ended as fast as it begun.
