But that’s before a practice kiss changes everything…more
01/02/2021 “The Replacement Fiance” (nook) is a lighthearted and heart-warming story of finding love. Logan and Mariah have been friends for three years and the holidays cause her angst in the form of her former fiance. Logan volunteers to be a fake fiance for the family gathering. Well, of course, there is a complication which throws everything into chaos. But love prevails and I finished the book with a happy sigh.
I love me a fake fiancé story. (Second only to a good second chance romance.) Mostly because you know going in to it that the whole thing is going to spectacularly blow up in their faces. I especially love when it has the added bonus of a friends-to-lovers aspect to it. In this story, Logan is everything good book boyfriends are made of. He’s sweet, caring, understanding, and willing to call Mariah on her crap when he sees it. Mariah has a lot of emotional growth to go through in this story and I’m really impressed with how much she changes from the beginning to end. I’m starting to fall in love with the whole Peters family and look forward to reading more about the other siblings.
I received a complimentary copy of this book.
I was given an advanced copy and I am voluntarily leaving my review. This was a new to me author and came highly recommended by another author so I will tell you that I’m in love with Liz Durano definitely is an AMAZING author. I couldn’t put the book down until I found out how it turned out. Let’s just say you don’t want to miss an opportunity to find love. This is a MUST read and ONE-CLICK book
I thoroughly enjoyed this story! It was heart warming and real. The characters were likeable and relatable. You really cared about what happened to them. My only complaint was that it went too fast! Or maybe that was just because I was so enthralled while reading it!! 🙂
This is my second book by Liz Durano, so she is a relatively new author for me. Based on her The Replacement Fiance: A Small-Town Holiday Romance (Holiday Engagement Series Book 1), I’m promising myself that we will become well acquainted. As the book’s blurb notes, “The engagement may be fake.
But the emotions are real”. This novel truly is, quite simply, both “real” and wonderful. The tale had just what I wanted (both friends-to-lovers and fake fiancé story lines; two of my faves) and was well written and with a great plot that really worked well. Mariah Peters and Logan Garrison , the leads here, are both perfectly crafted and their supporting cast is also superb. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises – the book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, it is easy to highly recommend and I’m definitely looking forward to book 2.
When Mariah wants to deceive her family into thinking she’s over her ex, her friend Logan steps up and offers to take the place of the missing escort she had hired to be her fake fiancé. Logan and Mariah have been friends for years and she’s always liked him, so it should be no problem to fake those kind of feelings. And they are fake, on her end. Logan, though, has always wanted more from Mariah than friendship. Is this the time for him to finally let Mariah know how he feels?
The Replacement Fiance came just in time for the holidays and offers a lot of sweet charm in this friends to lovers romance. I adored Logan and his down to earth sweetness. Mariah was a bit prickly for most of it but by the end she had mellowed and I could see what Logan did. I liked the introduction of not only Mariah’s family, but Logan’s family and friends, too. I can tell this is going to be a great series with a great ensemble cast of characters.
I loved The Replacement Fiancé!! The characters were so well written & “real”. Logan & Mariah are people I would like to hang out with in real life.
And I also really enjoyed both being small business owners- its cool how the author created realistic issues that small business owners deal with.
I look forward to reading more by Liz Durano.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I really enjoyed “The Replacement Riance” by Liz Durano. I received a complementary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review but I would gladly pay full price for this book and any other book written by this author. I started reading Ms. Durano’s books sometime last year and I have been hooked ever since. I find myself anxiously awaiting her next release due to the way she writes her characters and story lines. They are original and unique and she always paints a vivid picture that makes me feel so connected from the first to the last page.
This is a quick read and I was so excited to see that there will be more to come from the sub characters we met in this first book.
This book and author are a great addition to your book collection.
Happy Reading…enjoy!

Mariah is preparing to spend Christmas with her family, but when she discovers that her ex-fiancé and wife will be in the house next door, she decides to hire a man to pretend to be her fiancé. However, when the fake fiancé, Cooper, can’t make it in time due to a snowstorm, Logan Garrison, one of Mariah’s friends, volunteers to take Cooper’s place and help her.
The attraction between Mariah and Logan has been around for a long time, but neither has ever had the courage to invest in these feelings. But now, as fake fiancés, they need to make it seem like their relationship is for real. And when the first kiss occurs between them, both realize that things will never be as they were before.
Will they be able to hide the truth from Mariah’s family for the time they need? Or will the truth surface and undermine any chance of them being really happy together?
I really loved this story and the characters.
I highly recommend the reading.

This a sweet romantic holiday friend to lovers read that will capture your heart Mariah and Logan have this sizzling chemistry that people only dream of. Their story was amazing and I was very happy with the plot and flow of the story. I definitely recommend this book
Heat in the winter. This is a sweet well written short read. Some plans never go as planned, then some go so much better. I enjoyed this friends to lovers romance. The characters and the storyline is great. I received it as an arc and voluntarily reviewed it.
Mirah hired a man to be her fake fiancewhen she finds out that her ex will be next door visiting his family when she goes home for the holidays. However, her fake fiance gets stranded at the airport due to a snowstorm & tells her he cannot make it. What’s a girl to do? Her friend and mechanic, Logan happens to overhear that the guys stranded and offers to take his place. He thinks what’s the worst that could happen? It’s only for a few days & he’ll be helping a friend out. Will their buried feelings for one another come out or will they be able to make it through the holidays without a hitch? Book is a MUST READ
Nice variety of likable characters and sweet holiday romance. I especially liked the touching moments related to the hero’s mother and the family dialogue and dynamic, from Mariah’s New Age, crystal-loving mom, to her practical but car-obsessed dad, vlogging sister Harper and overprotective, “Grand Inquisitor” older sister Emily. A quick and well-written story with a splash of passion but mostly kissing on the romance front.
I read a complimentary advance copy.
Liz Durano is one of my favorite authors. She writes well with great storylines! I was not disappointed in this quick read that has been perfect for this colder weather. Mariah and Logan have a great story. I look forward to reading more from this author!
Great characters, always an intriguing storyline & a quirky family thrown in!
Good plot & characters. I was entertained from the moment I started this one. It was a cute journey from friends to more with plenty of moments of fun, affection & fear. I would have expected more anger towards the cheating fiancé & girlfriend but that’s the way I would have reacted. The author seemed to have Mariah experience more humiliation & anguish.
When Mariah’s hired fiancé is stranded in a snow storm, she takes up her friendly mechanic’s offer to stand in for him. What she doesn’t realise is that the chemistry between them is more real than she anticipated, so when Logan kisses her in a practice run, all her inner vows fly out of the window. This is a sweet, well-written Christmas romance, one where prevarication hurts both Logan and her family, even if it did mean that she saved face when seeing her ex-fiancé once again. The story is clean and can be read by most age groups, despite Mariah’s duplicity with her family. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
