She wants to work on a pit crew—not be a princess. Determined to be a member of a racing team’s pit crew, the last thing mechanic Isabel “Izzy” Poussardexpects is for a gorgeous guy to step out of a limousine and tell her she’s a long-lost princess…and his wife. Crown Prince Nikola “Niko” Kresimir of Vernonia wants one thing from Isabel: an annulment. The pretty American wearing grease-stained … annulment. The pretty American wearing grease-stained coveralls is too rough around the edges to be the future queen. Their marriage, the result of an archaic custom neither knew about, needs to end so he can modernize his country.
As sparks fly, Niko and Izzy fight their growing attraction for each other. Neither wants to remain in an arranged marriage, but that might be the only way to keep peace in the kingdom. Is a love match possible where all their dreams can come true? Or will aspirations and pride keep them from living happily ever after?

A light, easy, entertaining read.
Unexpected twists
Cute little weekend read.
A can’t miss romance!
Mechanic Izzy finds out that she is the long lost princess of northern Vernonia and was married in an old tradition at the age of six to Prince Niko. Twenty years later they meet as he looks to have an annulment so he can marry another. However, sparks fly between Izzy and Niko. Niko can’t believe that she will ever become a “true princess”. Fast moving, enchanting characters help this story move along to its romantic ending.
I read this book on a lark. I found it schmaltzy, formulated, highly improbable, but I liked it….REALLY LIKED IT! What set it apart from all the other Cinderella-like royalty fantasies? The very unique and original story, the writer’s considerable writing skill in pulling it off, and the lovable and attractive characters in the story itself. This is a stand-alone in a 3 part collection. Well, I’m off to read about Princess Julianne’s adventure in the next installment. Such an entertaining and escapist read!
Great read
A, light read.
I loved this book, it has wonderful characters. She is a car mechanic ( who is actually a princess) and he is a prince. He has a certain idea how a princess should be, and she doesn’t want to be that way. It’s a awesome story!
Thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to ready the next one.
This is a rewrite book. I owned it it from before. I enjoyed it then and rewrite now
Very entertaining story!
The premise was interesting but the story fell flat
I very much enjoyed reading “The Reluctant Princess” (nook version). Interactions between all of the characters was believable and their actions, in the end, encouraging. There could have been a bit more story development and angst near the end when Niko left Isabel at the castle in Sachestia.
Great story, well written ! Can’t wait to read the next book.
Oh I do love romances based upon fantasy kingdom’s in modern day. The feelings between this long lost princess race car mechanic and her pompous prince are an interesting study in adjusting to new realities.
Ya know the saying “you cant judge a book by its cover”? Well, I did. The cover is intriguing and classy. So as soon as I got it I downloaded it and read it. Something I hardly ever do. This is a great read! I couldn’t put it down. Enough drama and romance but not too much to be a turn off. I plan on buying the rest of the series. Thanks for making it free or I would have never found a great writer!!!

And now they both want an annulment, Niko so he can marry another princess and Izzy to for fill her own dreams. When they arrived in Vernonia things change, but is it for the good? Will the recultant princess and the handsome prince find the key to their hearts.
I really loved this story about two very different characters who need to find a way to help their people and to let love in their life and hearts.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
We start out meeting Crown Prince Niko and his father King Dmitar of Vernonia. We also get to meet Princess Julianna, aka Jules. Then we meet Izzy and the guys she works with. What does she do for a living? Why did she choose this occupation? Who is Uncle Frank? Who is her mother? What happens that turns Izzy’s world upside down? What decisions are made? Is Izzy’s voice heard? Read and see what happens. Such a neat read.
