She wants to work on a pit crew—not be a princess. Determined to be a member of a racing team’s pit crew, the last thing mechanic Isabel “Izzy” Poussardexpects is for a gorgeous guy to step out of a limousine and tell her she’s a long-lost princess…and his wife. Crown Prince Nikola “Niko” Kresimir of Vernonia wants one thing from Isabel: an annulment. The pretty American wearing grease-stained … annulment. The pretty American wearing grease-stained coveralls is too rough around the edges to be the future queen. Their marriage, the result of an archaic custom neither knew about, needs to end so he can modernize his country.
As sparks fly, Niko and Izzy fight their growing attraction for each other. Neither wants to remain in an arranged marriage, but that might be the only way to keep peace in the kingdom. Is a love match possible where all their dreams can come true? Or will aspirations and pride keep them from living happily ever after?

Excellent read about a grease monkey whom unbeknownst to her is a long lost princess. Just enough conflict and angst to make the story entertaining yet believable.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I wanted to give this more stars, as this was a very unique storyline; however the book seemed to build up then just everything turned around with the natural disaster. It just happened too quick to end for me after all the build up.
The Reluctant Princess by Melissa McClone is a delightful easy to read romance involving Crown Prince Niko and the woman he wed when he was six years old and Isabella was an infant. Without giving away any spoilers, I loved this storyline and was captivated by the first page. The author did a great job in carefully constructing these delightful characters. I love fairytale romances and this definitely does not disappoint. The author included so many enchanting elements including humor and surprises that will leave the reader unable to put the book down until they finally find out how the story ends. I rated it a five.
Not a bad story. A nice romantic read. Ending was weird for the rest of the book. But it was nice, and ends happily.
Loved the characters and story.
Loved this book. Characters were fun and unexpected.
A sweet story.
Great read
The female character revealed her inner strength as the story progressed through her unexpected actions and fierce loyalty to her new homeland.
Couldn’t put this book down. What a fun read. Made me laugh out loud.
I do love happily ever after. This is a good escape.
A strong femaleCharacter who stands up for what she wants and believes in. Very injoyable
Excellent read.
I found it interesting the way the characters changed their thinking about each other. Opposites can attract and find their differences complemented each other.
Izzy and Niko will keep you entertained all afternoon. Niko is way to stuck in his old fashioned ideas, can Izzy get through to him? The process is entertaining.
I enjoyed reading it, it had a different twist. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series
I really enjoyed the story
You never know what life will bring you.
I really enjoed reading this book.
Isn’t it every girls fantasy that suddenly you could discover that you were a lost princess and weathly, also! It reads like a Hallmark movie. I enjoyed it and recommend it.
