Complicating matters is my socially awkward best friend and partner in crime, my … friend and partner in crime, my overprotective obnoxious brother who does not approve of my budding relationship, and a few other major players that do their part to stir the pot.
With the deck stacked against us, what’s it going to take to find my happily ever after?
This story is a full length 97,000 word comedy romance intended to make you swoon, crack a smile, and dive right into the lives of my fictional characters.

If you are looking for a romcom that has you laughing so hard you bust a gut, this is it. The Reluctant Gigolo had me rolling so hard. This book was more than I hoped for. It was heartwarming and hilarious. Griffin, is an ex gigolo that doesn’t like to be social and hates to be touch. When he meets Freddie, he is oddly comfortable with her and wants to help her find her happiness and help her pick Mr. Right. Until he starts warming up to her and starts to have a tingle for her.
Griffin hot damn he was a great character. He is the tall dark handsome gentleman. He has a heart of gold. Freddie, my gawd I never related to a character as well as her. Her snarky sarcastic personality that always seems to have bad luck, I can so relate. The supporting characters especially Carla was excellently written and her parts were crucial to the story being told. She is also another character stealing my heart. Now thankfully this book wasn’t a cliffhanger, but they still have some things that need to answer, I’m looking forward to more from these characters. This book was such a fun read, I highly recommend it if you need something to brighten up your spirits.
What happens when your blind date stands you up and you end up meeting a great guy that just happens to have been a former gigolo? A crazy funny whirl wind of a read that answers that question. Freddie doesn’t have the greatest luck in the love department but when her path crosses with Griffin she may just have met her HEA but the road to true love is never easy. But Freddie believes in Griffin and is happy to let his past as a paid escort stay in the past but others aren’t, making their love story a crazy train of obstacles that will keep you wondering “what’s next”. Funny and unexpected, this book is worth a read and will make you root for second chances and happy ever afters.
This is the second novel by Grace Risata I have read, and I totally love her stories’ gritty, snarky heart. (The covers of both of the books were amazeballs as well.) I would hang out with these quirky characters. I would be embarrassed a lot, probably, but I would have a heck of a good time too. I read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
So, so good! I’ve read all of Grace Risata’s books, and I have to say, she just keeps getting better and better with each one. Freddie and Griffin’s story is full of all good things – learning to appreciate one’s strengths, assessing and working on one’s weaknesses and misgivings, crazy adventures, zany characters, wonderful dialogue – both funny and touching, and just a sweet, sexy, hilarious, romantic, wonderful novel. Highly recommended!
This is definitely a standalone but there’s so much more to the story that needs telling. From the get-go you are drawn into the lives of Freddie & Griffin. These are people for whom you can feel a connection. Griffin is struggling to put his past behind him and is starting to believe he can finally succeed with Freddie’s help. Even with a hang-up or two, Freddie’s strong enough to stand up for who she believes in, & she believes in Griffin.
It’s a heartwarming tale with some sass, a few phobias, an overblown ego or two and wonderful characters you won’t want to let go. The story is entertaining, and the characters are so interesting. You’ll have a good time from beginning to end, but it’s not really the end. There’s more to come as we will be hearing more from Carla, and, boy, I am sure looking forward to it!!
