Blood is thicker than oil–until murder is involved. Fenway Stevenson doesn’t want to return to the coastal town where her estranged father is practically king. But the death of her mother draws her back home–and the murder of the county coroner draws her into a deepening conspiracy. As the body count rises and all signs seem to point toward her father’s oil company, will Fenway uncover the … uncover the truth before family bonds become deadly?

I think they wrote the entire book, then pulled the villain out of nowhere at the end.
I have started with 1 and I loved it so I bought 3 more in the series.
I really enjoyed it. I look forward to reading more by this author.
It was ok but not great it passed the time
It kept me interested to the very end. Kept me guessing too as to who the killer is. Good book!
Sometimes seems off; like one minute phone is inside room and next she is calling from it; but otherwise good characters.
Started slow but well worth the buildu. Can’t wait for the next book!
loved this book & plan to read the rest in the series
Worth reading to the end. But rather trite and leaves a feeling of being nothing special. The characters were not particularly likable or interesting.
Highly entertaining. Shows why family should tell each other everything, it would save a lot of hurt feelings and time apart.
Easy read good book
An enjoyable whodunit. The main character is young and inexperienced so she makes mistakes (which did make me stop reading and yell NOOO….lol). That’s what made her more believable for me. Lots of surprises and fun supporting characters. Will be picking up the 2nd book soon.
I enjoyed this book as the first in the series. Books 4 & 5 however were not as good as the first three. Four and five were written as cliff hangers and I don’t enjoy a book that doesn’t end.
Still reading
Awesome book I recommend it for people who like twist and turns and an unpredictable story
I couldn’t put it down!!!
This book kept me excited throughout. Unexpected twists and turns that kept me glued to the pages. Give stars from me.
This author is wonderful. kept me wanting more. It has enough twist which makes you wonder who did it. But also a great easy read. I have purchased and started the 2nd book of this series The Incumbent Coroner.
Very well-written. Good plot with some twists and turns. Very real characters
I enjoyed reading this book for the plot and for the characters.
