Loved the book! It was a page turner. I am hooked and ready to read the other 2 books!!! See review on Amazon.
I have to tell you. I loved this book!
This book was an ARC from the author. I love a book that I have a hard time putting down. A real mystery as to the actual criminal. A good read. I would recommend this book to everyone who loves a “who done it” crime book.
This was a very well written book about a new, “reluctant Coroner” position, and a brave young woman. A must read for anyone! I especially liked that the author obviously did a lot of research for the ME and CSI positions, and had good police procedure incorporated.
Fenway, working on completing her forensic studies, takes a coroner position when the previous occupant is murdered. Green and inexperienced, she finds she’s in over her head. But Fenway has the wits and determination to stick it out through her first murder investigation. Unfortunately, the killer isn’t done yet and she may become the next target.
I picked up this novel when I was intrigued by the cover. I found this debut novel entertaining and face-paced with the right amount of levity interspersed. I look forward to reading Paul’s next book.
I have a 1yr old and literally chose to read “The Reluctant Coroner” instead of sleep. It’s that good! Fenway Stevenson is a spunky heroine with a difficult past and an indomitable spirit that makes you root for her success, despite her initial misgivings about the new job (spoiler: she’s the coroner). I liked that she wasn’t perfect – I mean, it’s her first week on the job! – but that she kept trying and continued to trust her instincts even when all evidence pointed in a different direction.
Paul Austin Ardoin sustained the suspense to the very end. At various times during the book I suspected every single character of being the murderer!
Overall, “The Reluctant Coroner” is a satisfyingly complex “who done it.” I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
