“Deliciously deviant… Akin to Anne Rice’s Beauty series.”– Library Journal (Starred Review)
The Red is a standalone novel of erotic fantasy from Tiffany Reisz, international bestselling author of The Bourbon Thief and the Original Sinners series.
Mona Lisa St. James made a deathbed promise that she would do anything to save her mother’s art gallery. Unfortunately, not only is The … Bourbon Thief and the Original Sinners series.
Tiffany Reisz is such a great storyteller. She certainly knows how to weave a tale. She’s such a creative writer that makes you think outside of the box. I love how her mind works. This story is super steamy. You’ll be trying to determine what’s fantasy versus reality. I love the way Tiffany throws you for loops and then brings everything back around full circle. There’s always a method to her madness. A unique story that enhances the imagination.

Mona’s mom recently died and Mona now owns/runs her beloved art gallery. The Red.
But with all the medical costs and the debts of the gallery, Mona probably won’t be able to stay in business – even though it’s the one thing she had to promise her mother on her deathbed.
Enter Malcom. He’s a hot mysterious stranger who’s suddenly standing in the gallery with an offer Mona can’t refuse. Well, she could, but she’s intrigued – and she definitely needs what he’s offering: priceless art to save the gallery!
Thus starts one year of amazingly erotic pleasure for Mona – and priceless artsy pleasure for her gallery!
But who is Malcom? Where did he come from? Why is he doing this?
WHAT THE EVERLOVING HELL IS HAPPENING?
That’s what this reader was asking herself all through the book!
I didn’t really know what to expect when I started the book – it said EROTIC FANTASY! And I’m not really a fan of anything paranormal, so in any other case I probably wouldn’t have read it, BUT it also said Tiffany Reisz, so there was no question at all whether I was going to read it or not.
And I loved it!
It’s so unbelievably erotic! Phew!!! Holy potato! Those were some sinfully sexy encounters!!
Full of mystery, mythology, role-play, ménages, art history … hardcore porn.
Every chapter was named after the painting that would inspire the upcoming ‘session’ with Malcom – and I always googled those pictures to see how the scene was supposed to look!
It was all soo mysterious! Who the hell is Malcom? Where did he come from? Dare we ask WHEN did he come from??? And what is his ultimate goal??
Please read this book! Yes, it’s so very different from those usual sexy New Adult romances, but you’ll love the extreme sexiness and mysteriousness and artsy-ness of this lovely little story! I sooo did! But of course it won’t be for anyone. It’s extremely – almost over-the-top – erotic. Too much for some to handle. 😉 But Tiffany, or rather, Nora, wrote it, so we have to love it! And I did.
Another amazing #MustRead by Tiffany Reisz! Extremely & sinfully erotic & intriguingly mysterious!!!!
Tiffany Reisz’s, The Red, is a suspenseful, high-intensity, extreme sex-charged erotic fantasy novel. I really enjoyed her use of art and the gallery, The Red, to stage her scenes. I have an art background and I know most of the paintings and artists that Reisz speaks of. Many of the works and artists are favorites of mine, so that made reading The Red extra special. The entire story is well crafted, with some nice twists.
There is not an easy way to review this story without spoilers, mysterious lover, fantasy and erotica in Tiffany Reisz signature style. Hot hot hot and excellent narration by Elizabeth Hart.
Loved every moment of this super hot book!
This seductive cover pulled me in immediately but it was the blurb that chained me to itself. After that highly intriguing and mysterious blurb, I needed to know everything.
However, it’s impossible. Absolutely impossible to know everything before the end. A year long adventure of epic naughtiness. A year to lust, flourish, and thrive on the passion. A years worth of wildly explicit rendezvous and in the end…
I’m not telling.
Didn’t see that coming did you!? Well this book will shock you as well! The worst part is reading The End. I could have read more, lots more, but every story has an end…I just wish this one didn’t.
It’s very entertaining and has you guessing at everything. Art fans will love the references too! It is a wild ride. I am so bummed it’s over.
Inwas not expecting to love this as much as I did. Really creative and fun.

I did it!!! I finally POPPED MY Tiffany Reisz Cherry and what a book to pop it with. WOW… I had to take quite a few cool me off showers while reading this steamy story. Let me say this, this book is EROTICA… written so beautifully. If you don’t like to read erotica, this book would not be for you at all.
Mona Lisa St. James took over her mother’s art gallery after her mother passed away. She made a promise on her mother’s death bead to do anything and everything to not sell the gallery. When the numbers don’t add up to keep the gallery open, the decision is made to close it. As the door is locked for the day, this man appears.
This man is very mysterious…
This man knows things about Mona…
This man has a love for art…
This man just made her an offer…
Can she submit to this total stranger for 1 year to save the gallery? Her mother did tell her to do anything and everything to save the gallery…
Y’all know me… I don’t do Paranormal books, I don’t do fantasy books, I don’t do a lot of things… But what I do know is this book was freaking HOT and quite a Page turner. The scenes that are created are nothing like I’ve ever read before. The love for art work was well played out and reenacted perfectly!
Then came the ending… WOW!!!! GREAT JOB Tiffany Reisz!!!

I love this book. The story was so captivating, I didn’t want to put it down.
I couldn’t put this book down. The ending was completely unexpected and fabulous. This is one I will read over and over.
One of my very favorite erotic novels. At points, it toes the line between erotica and horror; it’s also lush and imaginative and oddly romantic.
I love this book. Magic and fantasy and whimsy and art. Smut like I’ve never read before. It’s so lovely. This book is perfect for a cold winter’s night. Thank you Mistress
‘Her mother had loved The Red Gallery so very much that her last words to Mona had been, “Do anything you have to, but save The Red.”’
Mona Lisa St. John has always loved art. Growing up she has seen her mother passionate about art and her collection of erotic paintings. Each acquired art pieces has a story told and one of them changes her life.
“You’re in the red,” he said again. “In debt, I mean.”
After her mother’s death she struggled to keep the gallery afloat. When the loans are due to pay a mysterious stranger comes to her with an aura of otherworldliness. Malcolm is an enigma. Dominating and offensive he is ready to help her and in return for submission,
“I’ve given you no reason to doubt me.”
“What is it you want from me?”
“May I be blunt with you?” he asked.
“I’d prefer it.”
“I very much wish to fuck you.”
This book plays with art with ever talented demostration of erotic use on each painting. It gives us an exploitation of a woman who learns her sexual appetites. This book is filthy and classy. It’s dark, fantastical and has good element of erotica. My favourite scenes are The Slave M2arket, Nymphs and the Satyr, Dora and the Minotaur, The Bleeding Man, The Luncheon on the Grass. I cannot choose among these. Although I’m not a fan of orgy I enjoyed how Malcolm as Satyr caught Mona and the Nymphs; so erotically hot.
‘the devil had smirked, not smiled, because the devil does not smile.’
Malcolm has a good dedication to the whores, he makes them priceless. He doesn’t reveal his identity until the end. The story period is year long. This book was stunningly done. And lastly the twist at the end of the book, I didn’t realise the book was paranormal until the last part of the book. I’m in tears.
“A fine lady by day, a better whore by night. My whore.”
I highly recommend this book. You don’t have to be a fan of art to like this book, it’s the story, the mystery and how the author talentfully used the art. You’ll simply love it. The book has BDSM and has sinfully filthy scenes.
Mona St. James is the owner of The Red, an art gallery in a dire financial situation. When she finds herself at her lowest and only a breath away from selling the place, a stranger shows up and makes her an unusual proposal that will let her keep the gallery. But just how far is she willing to go to fulfill the promise she made her mother and save The Red?
This was my first read by Ms. Reisz and a book I regret having waited so long to read because it was an experience all in itself.
The Red is an unexpected story, fast paced and unpredictable in more than one way. I found it well written, intriguing and exciting and I was on the edge of my seat, waiting to find out the rather surprising outcome. I was impressed by the way the author used the paintings to recreate the scenes and the whole ambiance of the book and felt myself completely immersed in the world of the characters.
One thing I have to say is that if you’re part of the PC crowd that don’t subscribe to some aspects of BDSM, I honestly don’t encourage reading. The erotic aspect of this book is not for the close minded and if you are offended by it you should stay away from this book.
I enjoyed The Red from beginning to end. Not many books surprise me with either the story itself or the ending, but this one managed to do it all.
I actually received an ARC of book 2, when I didn’t realize it was a book 2. And although both books are categorized as standalones, why wouldn’t I start at book 1? If I enjoyed the ARC of book 2 and wanted to go back and read book 1 (which I read is the mother of book 2’s character), it would seem wrong and backwards. So my read of this book is a detour from my ARC.
It’s the first I have read by this author but it definitely won’t be the last! I was worried I wouldn’t enjoy this and then would feel obligated to read the ARC given to me, but it wasn’t the case at all. I’ll read book 2 happily and be checking out more from this author.
My favorite things about this book is the poetic writing. I really hope all her books are written like this, because this author has a way with words! This is so beautifully written that it just pulls you into the story so much. The writing matches the story so well. Despite being an erotica, I found this to be classy. With the characters being how they are, and the situation at hand, the flow of the writing gave justice to this story so much.
After her mother dies Mona promises to keep the gallery afloat. A mysterious man appears to her and makes a deal: once a month he will come to her and have carte blanche with her sexually in exchange for priceless paintings that she can sell to keep the gallery afloat.
Marcus is so mysterious the entire way through! I really tried to figure him out, and when I thought I did have it figured out, he disappeared and the ending happened. It was a…weird ending, to say the least, but still oddly good. Odd and weird, but semi fit in with the novel. It was a hard written part of the book though that made me go back and have to give that section a reread twice before I got what was going on. Interesting, to say the least. Even after reading, I’m trying to process and figure out. Yet, it explains so so much and explains some of the things he said or how he said them.
Great book and I can’t wait to move on!
4 very well deserved stars!
OMG. I’m going to be completely honest… I did not know exactly what I was getting myself into before reading it. The Red is about a young woman who meets a mysterious man who appears in her museum called, The Red (hence the title of the book). The man offers to pay all of her debts but in one condition… Fuck him.
If you do not like erotica let alone sex scenes in books than this is definitely not the book for you because 90% of the book is sex. It was so hot I had to pause my reading and take a nap. Otherwise, I would have finished the book in one sitting.
I definitely would recommend to those who read romance and love erotica!
This book has a lot of twists and turns very mysterious not knowing what comes next definitely worth a read
Enthralled with all the mythology! I am so in love with August, his easiness and sexy charm completely won me over. His calming effect works wonders on Lia, who can be uptight. Love his teasing ways and their banter.
The story flows smoothly throughout, and its sensuality cannot be overstated.
I couldn’t put it down. It was different and a very refreshing change. Highly recommend this book.
I loved this book!! It was so original! I couldnt wait to see what the next visit would entail! I was kind of disappointed that several of the visits toward the end were not described. The end was a little unrealistic but ok.
