“Ms. Walker has the rare ability to make you forget you are reading a book…the characters become real, the modern world fades away and all that is left is the intrigue, drama and romance.” Straight from the Library
“An engrossing love story grounded in meticulous research. Regan Walker makes the transition from Regency London to Anglo Norman England with consummate ease.” Glynn Holloway, author of 1066 What Fates Impose

The Red Wolf’s Prize is a wonderfully researched historic romance that features the conquest of England by William the Conqueror of France in the year 1088. It contains several well-developed characters, but the two lead characters, Serena in England and the “Red Wolf” – an outstanding warrior, with a conscience, who is William’s most favored Man of War. The author provides a preview chapter intruducing the Red Wolf, which explains how he got his title. Great action scenario! The action is fast and the romance is intriguing , as Serena is that rare kind of woman – a well-rounded and self–possessed woman who can wield a bow with the very best of them, to everyone’s amazement. The balance these two characters create in the story is very entertaining, and the plot is also very well developed. For those who favor a well-researched historical adventure plot, this is the book for you. The author even provides a summary of her story elements – her research – at the end of the book, and a link to her website with color photos of all the prominent characters in her story. One of the best historical romances I’ve read.
Betrayal, guilt, conspiracy, love. Can two world come together in peace and love?
Deprived of his promised bride, the Red Wolf turns his attention to the comely servant girl hoping to woo her to his bed. But the wench resists, claiming she hates all Normans. Unknown to him, the comely wench is his intended. The game of cat and mouse begin, that is, if she stops running.
A geed Medieval read. I recommend it.
loved it
Well developed plot and characters. Well written historical romantic fiction!! Highly recommend
Excellent story line, exciting and thrilling. It was a “keeper!”
I liked the plot.
Regan Walker has brought history alive with this romantic tale. She has given me a little of England’s history, while telling a romantic story with amazingly strong characters, fierce battles, and much more. Renaud the Red Wolf, our Knight in shining armor, you know the one, he’s in all our dreams. He’s tall, dark, very handsome, with battle scars, he’s sexy and best of all he is as fierce at loving as he is at fighting! Serena, his heroine is he equal in all ways. She is a most fierce defender when it comes to her family and the people of Talisand. Serena will lead him a merry chase before this tale is done, and she will reveal some of her many talents, and of course there will be a battle of wills between the two. This story will keep you a captive reader and the amazing history just touched upon in the book has me intrigued, especially the many castles being erected, but don’t worry, she doesn’t overwhelm you with too much detail. The many secondary characters have interesting stories of their own to tell, and I can’t wait to get to know them better in their own books. I hope you’ll read The Red Wolf’s Prize and enjoy it as much as I have.
This is the first book I have read by this author. I am a history fan and I found this novel to be very accurate to the time period. I loved that it was also a FABULOUS story! I will be reading more from this author.
Run to get this book. I loved every minute.
great book
Great story,it keeps your interest wondering what will happen next. Loved it.
Entertaining and exciting.
This book provides a picture of a difficult time in our history and paints it so clearly you almost feel like you are walking through it with the characters. The courage but also the insecurities of individuals was integral to the story, as was the cowardice of others. This is a wonderful book.
This was a wonderful medieval read. Loved both main characters. The female lead was a strong individual and caring and caring. Made for a great interaction between the knight and lady.
This is the first of Ms Walkers books I have read and although I felt it was a long book, I never got bored with it. It covered a lot of ground but well worth the read. I enjoyed the way Ms Walker wrote the hero. He was strong, determined, faithful and very honourable where a lot of men are portrayed as strong through their weakness and cruelty. He enforced beliefs beyond his time period, being women are to be respected. The heroine was also strong, willing to stand up for her people but also willing to accept change is sometime for the best. A very good read and will be looking forward to reading more of her books in the future.
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G medieval story! Loved every page of it…couldn’t put it down once started. Ms. Walker’s writing just keeps getting better and better. In this story she has a formidable conquering Norman knight (Renaud aka The Red Wolf) taking ownership of the lands and manors of an English lady (Serena)…and the English lady to wife…as a reward from King William. And then the sparks begin to fly! The hijinks of Lady Serena as she fights her attraction for Renaud…and Renaud’s frustration as he falls in love with her while doing business for the King…make for a very lively medieval romance. There are bad guys and action aplenty that kept this reader riveted to the pages until the end. The Epilogue and Author’s Note included at the end of the story were a wonderful treat to read as well.
