A short and sweet read that made me smile!
This was a wonderful little book that made me happy. It is listed as a light romance, but it was so much more. Set in France and translated from French, the reader is drawn in by the main character Laurent, who’s gentleman nature carries him through a little mystery searching for a complete stranger.
I liked this book, I enjoyed it’s depth for being a short read, and I thought the writing was clever.
Loved the setting and the descriptions of the characters. Intriguing and entertainment my.
A clean romance book! Who knew!!
One of my favorite book sof the year so far.
A book that celebrates books and art is always a nice find. Charming, if unrealistic.
Very sweet . . not so long.
Probably the most romantic novel I ever read. Beautiful, easy to read, a gem on your eReader.
A study in fascination. What catches the imagination and drives us to satisfy the need to make fantasy a reality?
This quirky little book takes a discarded purse and makes it a vision quest for one man … and us.
Not your typical romance novel. Things that you would do if you were in that situation, they do. It’s not all about what people aren’t saying – they say it. Enjoyable, though not high-brow literature.
I loved this french translated book. Unique story that kept you page turning. The translation was very good and “Americanized” for US readers.
A light satisfying read. Teeters a bit on the edge of the romance genre. Written well with clear characters.
Not much to it. A quick read, and as quickly forgotten I’m afraid.
I thought the story was well written and the premise interesting. I like different kinds of stories, and this qualifies. A woman is mugged and her purse stolen. She winds up with a concussion and in coma in a hospital. The next morning, a Parisian bookstore seller sees a purse laying on top of a garbage can. Recognizing it as expensive, he looks inside to see if there is any identification. There isn’t. But for some reason, he decides to try and find the owner. Follow his journey and learn why he felt he should look.
I loved this book! It was a short, easy read about a woman in Paris who gets assaulted by a purse snatcher, and the very likeable and interesting book store owner who finds her purse the next day (minus any form of ID), and tries to figure out who she is so he can return it to her. In the process, he manages to fall in love with her, partly because of her honest entries in the journal he found in her purse. Cute story! Great author! 4-1/2 stars (I rarely give out 5 stars, but this one was really close – highly recommend!)
I was happy with the plot twist at the end of the story. But, that might not be the case for other readers. I found the writing method original and liked how moved the plot forward quickly. Overall a satisfactory read
This was an easy read, and kept your interest. Well-written and fun for Francophiles.
