Escaping to home
I love this new book in a brand-new series by one of my favorite authors. All of these characters are so relatable. You could drive to any small-town USA and find them, well except this is a small town of shifters. That’s right a brand-new town of mostly dragons, but they have the same issues and concerns as all of us. As each character enters you feel that need to know their story. But this tale is about the red dragon, the new girl in town and her son. Who doesn’t love a hot guy with a tortured soul? Add in an adorable baby boy and I was hooked. The author did a fantastic job with this story and the slow path to HEA. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
It’s all about the Shifter Dads
Katie and her son, Noah are leaving their old life behind. She stops in Oak Ridge and rents a room for the both of them and is convinced she’s going to make it on her own and provide the kind of life she can for Noah. When she stumbles upon Ronan cutting firework the next day, an attraction sparks between them and he insinuates his way into their lives in an acceptable way, by helping out a tired single mother
Ronan is a little wary initially with Katie, but only because of his shifter nature but they both soon come to learn more about each other and Katie realises he is a good man and that she can trust her judgment once again
Thank you to Zoe for my advanced copy for which I leave my honest review.
This was a good story. At times it got a little wordy but the author really have you a good background of both Katie and Ronan. Things moved a little fast but then again with shifters usually does. I liked how Ronan kept himself away from two town yet was apart of the town, which he is reminded of several times throughout the story. Katie completes Ronan and the way she shows him how good he really is inside you can almost see the light switch go off for Ronan. The author also gives you a glimpse of the other men in the town and what we might be expecting in future books.
It was a good story and a good read.
I liked the townspeople. The main characters were upstanding. Happy ending
My Thoughts – 5 out of 5 Unicorns – I loved it!!!
***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!! Yes, I received a review copy of this book, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book! I buy most of Zoe Chant’s books because I love her HEAs and her style of writing! I have bought this book too!
The cover is adorable because who doesn’t love seeing a shirtless man holding a cute baby!
This is the first in a new series. It is for adults only due to the steamy content.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It made me happy to read about Katie who is a single mom. Katie and her son endured being ignored and basically being held prisoner by her baby daddy. She is freaked out that she was followed, and she just wants what is best for her son. Ronan is trying to live a good life, but he thinks he is bad like this family and that he will corrupt the good town. He doesn’t realize he is a part of the town, and he doesn’t even realize that Katie is his mate. He wants to protect them and keep them safe. Both are awesome characters with baggage, and they made it really easy to fall in love with their story.
I highly recommend to any shifter fans who love single moms and shifters who want them! I can’t wait to see who gets the next story!
I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
It was a great book!
Katie wants to give a safer life for her baby son.
She is trying to find a safe place that her abusive ex cannot reach her.
Ronan was seeking solitude.
The little shifter community ended up being the safe haven for both Ronan + Katie.
When danger comes, will Ronan be able to keep them safe ?
Loved the characters + the storytelling!
It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
This is the first in a new series by Zoe Chant and I love it. The characters are sweet by nature and strong when it’s required. And with a new town full of wonderful shifters, there will many more great reads in this series. Enjoy!
First in the Shifter Dads series by prolific author Zoe Chant. The series deals with shifter males becoming dads. This one has all of Chant’s trademarks — nice people who you cheer for when they find their happily ever after, found family and community, and justice for the villain.
