Marie Carrington is running from a host of bad memories. Broke and desperate, she’s hoping to find safety and sanctuary on Prince Edward Island, where she reluctantly agrees to help decorate a renovated bed-and-breakfast before it opens for prime tourist season.Seth Sloane didn’t move three thousand miles to work on his uncle’s B&B so he could babysit a woman with a taste for expensive … expensive antiques and a bewildering habit of jumping every time he brushes past her. He came to help restore the old Victorian–and to forget about the fiancée who broke his heart.
The only thing Marie and Seth agree on is that getting the Red Door Inn ready to open in just two months will take everything they’ve got. Can these two wounded souls find hope, healing, and perhaps a bit of romance on this beautiful island?
Step into the Red Door Inn, a lovely home away from home tucked along the north shore of fabled Prince Edward Island. It’s a place where the wounded come to heal, the broken find forgiveness, and the lonely find a family. Won’t you stay for the season?

Very well written, stories of the characters was widely diverse and came together well. Half way through I was wondering how things were going to turn out
Loved this book! I literally couldn’t put it down! Such a great read!
Enjoyable.
Very good read. Would like to purchase the rest of the series
4 1/2 out of 5 stars
As a fan of the Anne of Green Gables stories, I was immediately drawn to this story for the simple fact that it was set on Prince Edward Island. In keeping with those stories, this book had some very colorful and lovable characters. Full review is at my website (lorainenunley).
Loved it!
I love PEI in particular and all coastal settings. Light romances and romantic suspense are good escape books from these turbulent times and those with inspirational themes are especially encouraging and bring hope in dark times.
I want to go stay at the Red Door Inn! I was intrigued by the characters and the inn from the first page, and fell more and more in love with them with each page I read. There’s something about small town friendships that makes you feel at home there, and this one is no different. A story of love, grace, forgiveness, hope, friendship, worth, fixing broken hearts and a few broken pipes along the way. Absolutely beautiful story I’ll definitely read again. Can’t wait to read the next one. And yep, very disappointed the Red Door Inn doesn’t actually exist so I can go stay there.
A nice escape novel.
I loved this book. It kept my interest and was relaxing
catchy title and she was a mystery person from the get go. But I could guess what was happening but it made for good reading at night when the kids were in bed. Alot better that what was on TV:)
My first read from this author. Will definitely be reading more of her books.
Great story holds your interest.
This is another book in my Keeper file – to be re-read over and over. The characters make the story. It flows nicely and is well-written. I highly recommend adding it to your reading list.
I enjoyed the characters and the story. Predictable but liked it anyway!!
I love, love, love this series. So romantic and the gorgeous setting makes you want to visit. Love Liz Johnson books.
rather slow moving
Enjoyed reading this story. The characters and the situation were in my head days after I finished.
Ever since I read Anne of Green Gables I’ve been fascinated by Prince Edward Island. Johnson helps us to see the island–and the lovely people–through the eyes of characters in pain. The Red Door Inn becomes a place of hope and promise in the future. It’s a sweet and heart-felt romance.
This was a nice story, well-written, and meaningful content.
